very comfortable rooms and excellent restaurant worth staying just for the food however town centre location also good for my work visit

Nice 'country' innI've placed the word country in quotes because it's got the feel of a country in, but it s in the middle of Ruthin!A nice room, well appointed. The bathroom could do with a little updating, but it was all clean and everything worked. As another reviewer mentioned, the breakfast we excellent.

The wonderful WynnstayHighly recommended. The food alone justifies a revisit 0 - particularly the Garlic Mushrooms with melted cheddar cheese is superb!

Excellent central location, very comfortable room in an interesting historical building. The only downside was the shower which you couldn't actually use to shower as water pressure almost non existence. However, had a very pleasant and rare bath instead.

While I have given a fairly good score for value for money this is only due to the late rooms price of £42. If as was stated the room I stayed in is usually priced at around £90 I would say that this is very much overpriced in terms of quality/facilities. The word 'boutique' which they themselves use to describe the accommodation (and is used too frequently these days) is not in my opinion what is offered in reality and left me a little dissapointed.

Cold room and cold waterThe staff just forget to let us know that in the evening will be no hot water and no heating. We had to sleep in a really cold room and we had to take a shower in cold water. The staff should be more nice and should give more attention to the guest. The twin room was smaller than a double room. It just looked rubish. The hotel was noise. The staff was running the washing mashine at night till 1am and started again at 7am.Management Responsethis was easter weekend and we were full. No other guests complained the heating is on a timer morning and evening and comes on automatically i cannot vouch re the washing machines but houskeeper is not here in the evening so not sure about the noise. These guests obviously did not enjoy stay in small b and b but did not comment during their stay or on checking out. The rooms where standard size and showers are electric so not possible to have cold shower.

Room was OK but usual dislike of mine someone elses hair in the bathroom and wi fi connection too weak to connect. The pint of real ale i had tasted off but the evening meal was good . Breakfast was continental as being during the week and very limited choice and served by lady who was also cleaning the floors at the same time as short on staff that morning.

lovelyagain.. we live close to Ruthin and were going out with friends and decided to stay rather than taxi! Accommodation was really lovely, clean and modern, barn downstairs nice and Ruthin really good to go out... breakfast also great. Thanks.

Stayed in the Wynne suite which is a large and comfortable. Bathroom is small though. Dinner bed and breakfast rate is good value for the price. Nice staff throughout.

Downstairs was very welcoming and comfortable. Our bedroom however was huge with one small and high window (a step stool was thoughtfully provided so we could see out) and due to economy lightbulbs the room was too dark. The tiniest bathroom imaginable was situated in a corner of the enormous room. If we had been overweight, sitting on the loo would have been difficult. We only had breakfast and despite having to wait until 9am to eat, it was excellent.(Continental only until 9 and cooked breakfast only at weekends)

I thought it was odd there was no reception desk, you check in at the bar by signing the guest book, I wasn't even sure if they were expecting us or thought we'd just dropped by. Our room was old fashioned with some modern bits. I thought the shower could have been an electric one rather than an over the bath one. We stayed here because we were at a wedding in Ruthin Castle. To be honest this hotel is slightly further away than we expected but it is walkable. I do have to say though that the cooked breakfast (weekends only though) was fantastic. No greasyness in sight.

Great value for money. Can be noisy in the evening when the public bar is in full swing but it didn't bother us. Excellent breakfast.

Having considered earlier reviews before we booked the stay was pretty much as expected,we dined in the restaurant and the food was excellent with attentive service, the breakfast was also first class. The staff were friendly and approachable, the only slight negatives were the room tv would not work due to poor reception and the car park is indeed hard to find, with minimal signage to the front of the hotel telling you that it is around the back. The room we stayed in was a little on the small side and the bathroom was dated but everything was clean and worked fine with plenty of hot water and a reasonable shower.

Hotel parking badly signed - round the back. Restaurant gets very busy so need to book evening meal slot.Special starter for 4 very good. Otherwise food (for a restaurant) average.

One of the best & friendliest hotels I've stayed in throughout the World. It has style; integrity & warmth.
