Hotels with good value can be difficult to find in Lincoln Park. The Willows was a hit, and offered us a great location at a good price. Trains are accessible by a 10 minute walk, buses downtown pick up a block away. Nice secluded location off the main streets while still being close to places of interest. Small rooms, minimal perks (No pool, no on-site exercise (though Bally's is nearby and free to guests), basic breakfast options, etc) make the hotel a worthy choice without overwhelming. Note that Wireless Internet is convenient but unsecured. The Willow's strength is charm and location; for lavish luxury features, the Magnificent Mile will have you covered.

Location; excellent service; clean; breakfast. I was there for 7 nights and was very pleased with this hotel. It's a charming inn, very clean, very friendly and helpful staff, and thoughtful services. The room came with a thick bathrobe, which was so helpful given that it was June and freezing in Chicago. A good selection of breakfast foods are offered in the morning nothing fancy, but pretty good for a continental breakfast. They put out cookies and apples in the evenings. The bathroom is stocked with a very nice brand of soap, lotion, and shampoo. Free WiFi is included. The staff was exceptional: very friendly, very helpful. The hotel offered very good service, and is in a great location. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

I spent a week here on business. I loved this hotel. It was warm, quiet, and convenient. I felt like an honored guest here. Greeted every morning and everynight by the very attentive staff. Hot coffee and cookies on my return after working 12 hours and walking several blocks was wonderful. My room was big, comfortable, and quiet. The closeness of this hotel to everything was wonderful. I loved this hotel so much I booked the next week to return for 2 more days of work. I came by train from OHare and cabbed in from the Belmont Blue Line Station. I was able to walk to work everyday and numerous restaurants everynight. I should mention I am a middle 50s woman from the midwest so this should say a lot about the safety and security I felt here. This hotel reminded me of when we of when we lived in Europe. I would choose this hotel hands down anytime.

Great location and very nice but for more than 1 night the extremely small rooms are challenging. The room is barely larger than the bed.

Very convenient location to transportation. Air conditioners not very cold if it had been hotter it could have been a problem. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean with a good continental breakfast.

A little out of the way, but very easy to get to on the bus. Clean and quiet. Older hotel but well maintained. Would stay here again.

The Willows was a pleasant place to stay within a great neighborhood atmosphere. The room was small but pleasant. The window air conditioners were a little noisy, but fine for an older revamped building. We loved the neighborhood around the hotel and enjoyed the proximity to shops and restaurants and Lincoln Park and Wrigley Field. The only quibble we had was the maid service on our second day at the hotel. We appreciate the green approach of not replacing towels and linens daily, but the staff on the second day seemed to take that to mean, don't clean. The bathroom was not cleaned at all and the floor not vacuumed. That was not true after the first day, but was the next day--especially frustrating when we consider the additional costs associated with a Friday night stay. I think the room should have been cleaned. Still an enjoyable and unique boutique hotel.

Good location near lots of shopping and dining. The elevator was broken however they offered to help with bags. Great location, friendly staff, decent rooms, off street parking available for reasonable rates (by Chicago standards). Breakfast was simple but good.

"The Willows Hotel reminds one of a hotel in the UK, a nice change from the run of the mill chain hotel. Small, with a friendly staff, continental breakfast, and coffee/tea in the lounge 24 hours. Excellent choice if you're going to be on the North Side in the Lincoln Park area."

Great location. Close to CTA lines, the lake and restaurants and shopping. The hotel was an older building with charming details.

The Willows is an older hotel in a great neighborhood with lots of restaurants and shops. Some of the staff was not very helpful, but overall, the experience was great. Comfortable room except for a bed that was much too soft for our backs. Free continental breakfast was not stellar, but certainly enough to get us through til an earlyish lunch.

The room was good; great staff. The elevator was out; family member with me was having frequent asthma attacks. Due to staying on the 3rd floor, this made our trip worse. The hotel staff members were good. The hotel room was nice with a large bathroom in comparison to Lincoln Inn (poor water pressure). The beds were very comfortable. The room temperature could not be altered easily. Both my family member and I have bad allergies and asthma which made staying on the 3rd floor difficult. Also, when the room became warm, we were unable to use the window air condioner due to our allergies. Not recommended for people that are sick. My family member was sick during the entire stay and had the elevator worked, we could have done so much more during our trip.

My husband and I used to live in Lakeview and wanted to return to our old stomping ground when visiting Chicago. The Willows has a fantastic location, right in the middle of bustling Lakeview. They were able to accommodate our early check-in and could not have been nicer. The room itself was clean and comfortable-- not huge, but right on par with other hotels in this area. We had free internet access and complimentary breakfast and snacks. We were steps from all of our favorite restaurants and shopping, and a short walk to several train lines. I recommend this hotel very highly to anyone coming to Chicago who is already familiar with the northern neighborhoods. However, this might be a challenging location for a tourist-- it requires a know-how of the public transportation and isn't quite as glamorous as the hotels near the Mag Mile. This is the kind of place you crash at after a long day of shopping and hanging out-- not the kind of hotel you spend a lot of time in.

This hotel(The Willows) is in an old established area near Lincoln Park. I was most impressed with the staff, decor and especially the quiet..often difficult to find in a city the size of Chicago. A cozy front lobby with fireplace, marble and drapes with comfortable couches to enjoy a cup of coffee while waiting to be picked up. A definite european influence. I enjoyed staying here, I will return and would recommend.
