Location was very good. Bar prices were really out of line. Room service too. Lovely public spaces. Room was a nice size by European standards.

This place can't get the BASICS right: - Internet access is sporadic; down one minute, up the next. - The shower is similarly sporadic; scalding hot to luke warm, no matter what setting you put it on. - One room service respondent wasn't familiar with the existence of items on the menu (like blueberry pancakes). It's thievery that they would even charge 1/5th of what they currently do for these rooms. Room service items are insanely overpriced; as in at least twice of what is normally exaggerated. Plus the hotel is extremely dated; as in nothing updated for decades (read carpet, furniture, TV set, lamps, telephone).

Location. The hotel was wonderful.

Everything about this hotel (except price, of course) was perfect. the public areas are unbelievably beautiful, the rooms are spacious and well-appointed, housekeeping is attentive and the service is sublime. Regarding location, the Palace is in the most interesting part of town, across from the Prado and near the other major museums, the "downtown" part of Madrid is an easy walk away, the city's parks are an easy walk in the other direction, and the hotel borders on the old part of the city, which include the best restaurants, shops and clubs. During our stay the hotel hosted a visiting American NBA team who were playing one evening on their tour entitled NBA Europe. Despite the potential for disruption typically caused by the press, PR types, and sports groupies who are always present at such spectacles, the hotel staff was able to control the entourage and maintain a serene sense of calm the entire time. I would strongly recommend the Westin Palace to any business or tourist visitor to Madrid, and would definitely stay again.

Location excellent. Executive level amenities almost non-existent. Rooms small. Good location, but poor internet and very expensive. Should be free. Executive level room had almost no executive amenities. Limited free coffee. No coffeemaker in room. No wireless internet. No free internet. Tiny room.

The Palace Madrid is beautiful and the location is perfect! We got a great deal in this 5-star hotel. Would definitely go back!!!

Great location. Poor internet connections and very expensive, should be free. Executive level floor had almost no amenities besides tea/coffee only at am and apples. Great for the location. Rooms were small. Executive amenities were almost non-existent. No coffee maker in room. Internet should be free. Concierge service was very good and helpful. A bit too pricey for what you get, but you pay for location.

"This hotel is an exquisite masterpiece in the heart of Spain. It is being renovated at a room per floor and will will not interfere with your stay. The Westin beds throughout the world provide the most incredible night's sleep, bar none!"

Gorgeous hotel. centrally located. helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable staff. 8 euros for 20 mins of computer usage. We loved our stay at the Palace. It is a beautiful building with lovely public rooms. Rooms are spotless and present the amenities you would expect from a 5 star hotel - comfortable beds, high-cotton-count linens, great power shower, marble bathroom, ample storage for clothes. The staff in every area was courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. Well run and managed. I highly recommend this hotel for business or leisure travel.

Luxurious, historical, great location convenient to museums and train station. We always expect excellence with Westin hotels, but this one was on par with the best luxury hotels in the world. The history behind the hotel, built in 1912 and used as a hospital during the Spanish Civil War, brought a level of glamour beyond just the well-appointed cushy rooms and splendid lobby! A must for the traveler to Spain!

It was the best hotel in Madrid! A better TV screen! A great hotel in a city that does not have the best ones! The bed was excellent, staff friendly and the location was fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel.

The architecture of this hotel is magnificent. The simplest of questions asked to the concierge was met with shrugged shoulder (except for Alejandro). The hotel did not disappoint us. Only wish the concierge service reflected 5-star hotel expectations.

Outstanding service by the staff. Great for a couple but pricy for families because of extra people charges. The Westin Palace is a great hotel in Madrid and is located within easy walking distance of the Prado, Reina Sofia, and Thyssen museums. There were no surprises or unexpected charges and the staff was extremely helpful. If you leave your room for an hour, it is cleaned and picked up. The hotel restaurant is elegant but very pricey so it is best to try for a package that includes breakfast and/or a dinner. My wife accidentally sprained her ankle while in Madrid and the staff at the Palace showed genuine concern and even loaned us a crutch for several days after our reservation. I highly recommend the Westin Palace.

Public spaces are beautiful; bed was very comfortable, location great. Needed to ask for towels, faucet leaked, ac not up to par. Palace has a great reputation, this is my third visit in as many years and while at time a little rough around the edges for a 5 star, the price makes this an excellent value.

The bathroom is great. The concierge was very helpful and recommended a great restaurant. You could stay in another hotel for the same price and be treated better. From the street you see "the palace' which sounds fantastic and the hotel the lobby is very welcoming. The staff made an error and placed us in an already occupied room so we had to walk back down to the lobby and be reassigned. They were not very friendly and acted as though it was our fault. The 1st floor rooms are not 5-star qualities. I would not recommend staying here as there are many other nice hotels in the vicinity.

Amazed at: quality of the rooms; friendly staff; restaurant had best service out of anywhere we stayed in Europe for fine dining with exceptional food. Front desk make check in and check out fast and practically painless. The food was exceptional and I didn't expect to receive such large portions. The exceptional coffee in the morning was over the top. Incredible experience that we want to repeat.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. Close to museum and major attractions. Expensive to dine here. This hotel is definitely 5 stars. Staff was friendly and helpful--and spoke English. Great location within walking distance of some major attractions. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
