Took 3 kids down for Spring Break, had a blast! Hotel is beautiful. Food is very pricy, but good. Hotel has a lot for kids to do. The pool is awesome and they have a great gym. Golf course is beautiful. Don't waste your money on the Spa, it is nice, but the massage therapists do not have a clue what they are doing. Paid for a 50 min deep tissue massage and got a 30 min foot rub??? (Spa and Golf Course is not attached to hotel, you have to take a shuttle to get to them.) Hotel staff was great and very helpful. Definitely would go back.

The price of one bottle of water in the room cost $7!!!! The buffet for 4th of july was extremely poor and very expensive, $25 per peson plus they charged tips automatically even the buffet was self service of course! The buffet included eggs, bacon, some fruits and cerials, that was it! Beach chair/bad was $10 each, plus umbrela $15 plus.....

The hotel was absolutely beautiful and hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. There is nothing to dislike about this hotel. A breathtaking hotel with a gorgeous lobby, amazing pool area and fantastic beach. The rooms were lovely and I liked the Starbucks coffee in the room. The bathroom was very impressive. The staff was very courteous. It was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at.

It's poorly managed with sleazy employees. Bad and do not go during the high season.

We only stayed for one night, and that was the only mistake we made. Two would have been better. Our 6 year old was so upset that we had to leave so soon! The bar/restaurant on the intracoastal side of the property was really neat. Kids loved the big "bed" lounge chairs. The pool was crowded, but the 6 and 8 year loved it and that's the most important. Room was great. No complaints. We will go back.

While the hotel was excellent clean, friendly, the cost of overnight parking was a little too much.

Great location on the beach! Staff goes out of their way to make your stay as nice and enjoyable as possible. Resort was clean and very organized!

The room and bed are comfortable, and that is the ONLY positive thing I can say. I have been here 4 nights for a conference. Everything is an additional charge, from the internet (even from the business center), to the beach chairs, to ridiculous charges for water, drinks, food. The beach is lovely - when the gates to it are not locked! The lobby area is lovely but the noise is so loud that it is uncomfortable to walk through it. The location is terrible - there are no other restaurants or coffee shops to walk to, no shopping. Definitely NOT a resort I would choose for personal travel.

This was possibly the nicest hotel I have ever stayed at. The pool and view were amazing. The room was perfect. Even the elevators were super-efficient. The only thing is that checkout required you to fill out some paperwork and find a drop box to submit. You don't have to do anything at all for checkout from most hotels.

Clean, helpful staff, pool had plenty of chairs. Food was only ok, difficult to exit self-park garage at times because of slow staff and timing of light--cars would back up.

Positives:Good food, Good pool Negatives: Over priced everything (they charge for everything; from $8 for a bottle of water to $* for 1/2 hour of fishing for kids) Too far from any amenities; dead neighborhood Poor choice for families

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Five stars all around. The pools were gorgeous and overlook the walk out beach. There is a bar right in the middle of it all. The only downfall is the bar closes around dark. Pool hours are not strict, every night we went down after closing and swam under the stars. I recommend a room with a balcony, you can see the entire city and it's worth the extra $20 (city view) or $60(ocean view) a night. We even managed to pay the $20 and get a side room where we could see the ocean! The traffic was not bad in Hollywood, FL it gets awful once you head to Orlando or Miami. There are tons of restaurants, stores, and things to do within 10 miles of this resort. We ate at several different restaurants and even the ones by the Marina (across the walkway and owned by Westin) were remarkable. Nikki's has lady's night drink specials and a great lounge and bar area. Rival's is more of a sports bar/restaurant theme. During the day you can rent cabanas, umbrellas, lounge chairs, and even jet skis right from the resort. The price is fair, it's convenient, and can be charged right to your room. I will admit that room service, alcohol, and the room rates were somewhat expensive, but in all honesty it was worth it! If you know what you can afford and make wise decisions, you can have a blast without going overboard! By the way, if you have children: They had amazing ideas for children. Day care facilities, movie night in the lobby, organized games and activities, teen activities, Children's menus, children dedicated areas. They even have various inflatable toys for purchase by the pools.

The grounds, pools were excellent. Very attentive staff. This hotel was very plush and the staff attentive. I was impressed with the level of security that allowed only hotel guests to be in the pool area.

"The rooms are new and nice. The hotel is on a highway - you won't be walking anywhere. (A bottled water in the lobby = $-) The spa isn't on site - you have to take a shuttle bus. Biggest disappointment ? pool/beach service. There are NO umbrellas anywhere; if you want shade, you have to pay for it. Pool cabanas are $-/day. Beach cabanas (2 chairs, awning, umbrella) are $-/day. Needed two for four people then realized there is no wait service on the beach! You must go back to pool bar and serve yourself. Totally absurd for $- additional!"

Gorgeous hotel, beautiful sandy-bottom beach and pool, stunning lobby. Westin Diplomat is a beautiful hotel in an ideal location for beach going and sunning around the pool. The ocean view from our room on the 28th floor was spectacular. But the Westin charges you for nearly every amenity you can imagine, which is outrageous given the exorbitant cost of staying here.
