A 200 villa luxury family style resort is situated on 30 spectacular waterfront acres hidden away on the untouched
north-east coast of Antigua. It lies adjacent to a designated National Park and incorporates marked nature trails
a power soft white sand beach and crystal clear bay perfect for swimming. The historical Devils Bridge is only
a brief walk away and the uninhabited nature sanctuaries of Green Island and Bird Island are only a boat ride away. The Antigua international airport and capital city are both just a 30 minute drive away.
The Verandah has been designed with the environment in mind and caters to all ages offering non motorized watersports as well as tennis and an electronic casino. The resort also offers an all inclusive option which includes three meals per day and all beverages as well as tax and service.
All units are single story duplex suites approx 700 sq ft in classic Caribbean styled architecture. A combined living and sleeping area include a king size bed and queen sleeper sofa to accommodate up to four people. The convenient interconnecting verandah doors between adjoining units make it easy to accommodate family and friends. All suites are air conditioned with full bath and his and her sinks. Units also have mini fridge and microwave as well as satellite TV and in suite safe.

Verandah - A 3 star family hotel in a 5 star locationA great family hotel which could be 'superb' but a couple of niggles keeps it at the 'ok' status. On the plus side the set up is ideal for families with young children and the location is stunning - the beach is safe and shallow and the water clear and warm. The sand is powder white and great for small children playing. The rooms are big and particularly suitable for sharing with kids as large enough to not feel cramped and have a great view of the coves. The niggles are the service (the staff seem permanently miserable), the food (basic) and that the fixtures / fittings are in need of a revamp so are a bit dated. Overall though good value for money just don't expect any luxury.

The hotel grounds were beautiful. The staff were pleasant & personal.It was relaxing& enjoyable. The massage was great. We rented a car & went to other beaches & drove through the rain forest. It was all beautiful. By the way the happy cow resides in Antigua.

This property is well suited for a romantic getaway, a family retreat or even a quick getaway. I was not to thrilled about the mattress. It was too hard. I can not wait to go back and visit. The property met my expectations plus. Very convenient. The beaches and swimming pools were excellent. The landscaping was outstanding and the room was sufficiently spacious.

We stayed without "all inclusive", and the prices in the restaurants were very high! Nice clean and modern rooms, but the resort lacks atmosphere. The resort is too big, you have to walk a lot. The gardens were very nice, but I i missed the high palmtrees. The beach is quite small, the one at long bay (3 min walk outside the resort) was much better! I would not stay there again.

Rooms are clean and nice. Keep one rolled up towel against the glass of the shower to stop the water from getting all over the floor. Grounds were nice, hilly. Alot of walking/steps involved to get anywhere. Staff is "hit or miss" in helpfulness. Took us 3 days to get the phone to work and the lock for the safe. Food was good, snacks were scarce, bring your own if you need them. Food not allowed to be taken from the dining room. Beaches are small, confined. Go to Long Bay Beach to stroll or snorkel, even there it is NOT great snorkeling. Very windy which made for limited water activities.

I really liked the spacious rooms and large balconys, a great place to sit and relax overlooking the water. Great friendly staff, eager to please and make sure all are enjoying. especiallly great for family's. would definetley return again and again....

This resort is very quiet and restfull. We found this very attractive. If you are looking for a party place, this isn't it, although they did have entertainment each evening. No room service. Need beverage service at pool/beach. Staff friendly but not helpful about special requests. The location is remote and if your looking for off resort activity such as exploring St. Johns or other beaches, it's inconvienent and requires a significant taxi ride. We lounged at the pool, read and for the most part just relaxed. This is a great place to just that. We took the excursion to Shirley Hts. on Sunday,if you're looking for Reggae music and island food, this is for you. International cliental. Wide age range of guests.

The hotel is still new and I think they're still learning their ropes. There are 3 pools on site - main, quite and for children. A quite one is for adults only. It's small and has nice waterfall. The main one has a full bar few steps away and covered by WIFI. There is als a free computer for everyone to use. The resort has two beaches on property - main has all sorts of non-motorized sports, and a secondary - underdeveloped. Beaches are not very long, but fair. The grounds are truly amazing and it is a large beautiful property. Overall, it has a pretty view, beautifully landscaped property, simple so-so food. Some wait staff is better than others.

The Verandah is a great new property in Antigua! The staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy and having a good time - most of them even knew my name! The property has two beaches and a great pool which gives guests different options and the ability to spread out - you dont realize the amount of guests on property! Nicole's Restaurant is a must as the food and wine is fantastic!

This hotel has been in operating for a year. It needs to be taught how to treat it's guests. When we arrived we waited for the lady behind the desk to finish with a couple there a head of us. When it was our turn, several other guest have arrived. We were waited on as a group and our questions were rudely handled. We waited for a half hour to be taken to our room. Everything is done in groups. No one guest is treated as an individual. You eat in groups, you are driven in groups you swim in crowded facilities. When it was time to check out we waited one hour to be picked up from our room and taken to the front desk. Finally the maintainance man saw us standing outside in the heat and called, no one came. He went and got a cart and drove us. The bathroom was lovely with a deep tub. However, there was not enough hot water to fill it. There is not satellite service for computers in the rooms. You have to go to the bar to use the WIIFI. The wine is terrible, the beer is okay, the rum drinks are watered down. Not a nice hotel at all. You had to pay for water for your room and the place to buy it was only opened a few hours a day. The water in the pool was cold. The beach was beautiful and the water in the Caribbean was warm.

This property is amazing. I was very impressed with the room and grounds, but more importantly, the staff was phenomenal. The food was great- no complaints at all. I was only on property for 3 nights, but I would definitely return, and stay for a longer period of time.

You will definitely be receiving a detailed letter from me. The hotel was very overpriced and over-rated. This was our 9th all-inclusive, the most expensive, and by far the worst ever. We chose this hotel because they promoted it as a family friendly resort. There was nothing family friendly about it. First of all, if you wanted a child's meal you had to order it separately in the buffet restaurants. They ran out of many items, nuggets, fries, straws, strawberries for any "strawberry drinks". No stocked fridge in room, or bottled water included. And the a la carte restaurant is buffet during peak season. Didn't waste our money for Nicole's ($25/person surcharge),but heard it was horrible. There were no family activities, no pool activities, no music at pool, no service at pool. There was only ever 1 bar tender and there was always a line. Everyone acted as if you were bothering them when you asked for something. Lots of attitude from staff. Pretty much the same food every day. Room was plain. Floors filthy dirty even after multiple requests to clean. Bed was worst we've ever experienced. I could go on and on. We are average middle-class people with with normal jobs. We are not snobs and do not stay at the Ritz. We do however expect to be treated well on vac and up until this trip have found all-inclusives to pamper you and treat you well. Esp. at a 4 star resort. I would not advise going here. Oh and the kids club is a nice facility--but as the lady at guest services advised me too bad they haven't put more into it to organize activities for kids.

The property is brand new. The all-inclusive plan definitely is worth the money with great food and great staff to boot. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and eager to please. The pool was phenomenal and the kids club is the largest I've seen (if you have kids). The beach is conveniently located at the property (there were actually 2 of them, one of them a bit more private than the other for couples).

The Verandah Resort & Spa, St Johns, Antique was first class .Staff were very accommodating and friendly, food was very good extremely varied great presentation. Rooms clean and have great views of the bay. Beach bar has a spectacular view of bay and ocean. The hotel is a little far from some of the main site seeing places, but has a car rental on site and taxi available all the time they are a little expensive but fun to ride in missing the goats, sheep, donkeys, cows and pot holes etc. All in all we would certainly go back again.

The hotel is still new so not everything is up and running. There are two pools on site, but the "Adult" pool area was supposed to have a full bar, but not at this time. The resort has two beaches on property, again where only one had a full service bar/resturant which is all the way up some stairs on the hill. This gave a beautiful view of the pool, but tiresome when you want to just sit and relax on the beach with a cocktail. The grounds are truely amazing and it is a large beautful property. Although you must wait for a tram to get around, which comes every 15-20 mins NOT on a schedule!! Kinda frustrating when you wait just to get to the front of the resort to get a cab! Don't get me started on the cabs!! It is a total racquett there! In the 6 days we spent at our resort for two people to get around the island it cost us $$$ US!! That is rediculous!! I spent less at the Market in St. Johns shopping!! The hotel arranges the cabs to pick you up, and they charge whatever they feel! The excursions are only booked through the hotel, and a portion of what you are paying for is the person to book it for you!! (Your deposit on the trip the hotel takes before you go!!) Which sometimes include cab fare, but if your not careful to pay attention, sometimes you have already paid, and they want more! All in all, it has a pretty view, beautifully landscaped property, mediocure food, and people will to take advantage of their tourtist! Big disappointment! Definately not for singles!!!

The staff at the Verandah was awesome! From the minute we arrived they were extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. Compared to most other resorts I have visited in the Caribbean this was one of the most friendly staffs I have ever encountered. The property is beautiful. The rooms are spread out and most have amazing water views. The interiors are very tastefully decorated and pleasant to return to after a day at the beach or pool. We saw all types of vacationers here, from couples on a romantic getaway, to families, to business folks doing work on their laptops at the bar (wireless is only available in the pool bar area). I would say that it is definitely a place for all types of travelers. Overall this was a great vacation. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway no matter who they are traveling with. Chances are I will probably return myself.
