Plus - Very pleasant young waitress and chefMinus - No battery in TV control, no plug in wash handbasin, very loose-fitting taps, missing surround tiles. Whole premises appears tired and badly in need of decoration/refurbishment.

Deserted - to an extent that I worried whether food would be available - but good. Wifi worked in my room, not just the promised lounge. Chef realised he'd made a small mistake with my dinner order, and offered to put ti right very quickly. Room a bit old fashioned with very poor lighting in bedroom (good in Bathroom) - the only downside I could find.

IF YOU USE A SATNAV this Hotel will be difficult to find. The Hotel is situated on the main A52 road ( but its not noisy).

It's basic, but clean and for the price - outstanding value for money.

The staff had to struggle with a hotel which needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to a basic level. The hotel was full yet two rooms had broken beds (including ours) and a further one needed a new lock fitting (the second room offered to us). The staff were very apologetic, and to another guest who also complained that she had had to sleep on the floor the night before, offered that the manager generally comes in 'for a couple of hours'. A hotel in this poor state needs the manager to be there at all times, so that things can be put right. Realistically it will need a lot of investment to get any better. Breakfast very good, however.

My Sat Nav didn't recognise the post code, but fortunately I struck lucky with my directional guesses. Checking in was quick, friendly staff. Room clean and tidy. Hairdryers and iron's available at reception. Quiet hotel, with plenty of parking. Lots of variety for breakfast, but best to go earlier for a speedier service with the cooked options. Reception was deserted on checking out, so left my key on the desk. Had the invoice in the post - was charged for a double room, not the superior single room I had booked, therefore over charged by £40, should be refunded following a quick phone call. I would stay again as they offer good facilities and friendly service.

We enjoyed a pleasant few days at the Hotel which was very easy to find on the main road with good access and ample parking. The room was basic but adequate, despite the main road it was quiet with a view over countryside. The staff where all friendly and helpful and the food excellent. Would certainly stay again or go for a meal.

Each room was furnished individually. Food and service was great. Nice gardens and a good vibe. Would definitely stay here again.

Ample parking, quiet room, excellent food and drink, friendly staff and comfortable \"Library Bar and Lounge\" made this an excellent choice of place to stay.It was clearly used by people staying regularly, and we intend to stay there in the future when in the vicinity.

This was our second visit and our stay was very comfortable. We had a nicer room than last time which did make a difference. Breakfast was good and parking and location very good.

Could do with a good 'odd job' man. Light didn't work in hallway, bulb missing from bedside lamp, electric heater erratic. Shaver light and socket not working. Modern basin in bathroom but tap floating about - needed tightening. Noisy fan ran for over 30 minutes after switching off - echoed through building. Found out from another guest that, if you knew where to look you could turn shaver on/turn fan off. I would stay there again despite the above.

The hotel was very empty which is a pity as the food was excellent........we had a special sandwich and it was more than a meal in most hotels ...very good value if you want clean straightforward accommodation with good food.

Good value oversized pub on the A52. Rooms a reasonable size, in good condition and clean but let down by poor attention to detail such as dead light bulb, tiles off wall and flooded bathroom on arrival. The breakfast was excellent and the staff made an effort to start the sitting one hour early to suit a number of clients. The personnel were unfailingly friendly and helpful.

Basically an overgrown pub with purpose built rooms. Standard OK but attention to detail (minor problems) poor. Breakfast was excellent as was the preparedness to open restaurant early on Sunday morning.
