The owner and staff were very nice and tried their best to be very helpful. The water was lukewarm to cold all the time in the shower and I felt it could have been a bit cleaner. Right on the bus line and about 3 miles, ten minutes from city center, easy to get to town. The wireless at the B&B was down for ten out of thirteen days, which made making travel arrangements difficult. The breakfast offered with the room plan was unlimited cereal, yogurt, toast and fruit where most Scottish B&Bs offer a full breakfast. The price was very reasonable, but those looking for luxury would not be happy. For those seeking just a place to sleep, it would do.

We only stayed for one night but it was fantastic. Very comfortable beds and nice ensuite room. Hotel was on a main bus route into edinburgh city and costs only £1.20 into city centre. The breakfast was also very nice - you pay £3 extra for a hot cooked breakfast but it was nice. You get cereal, fruit juice, fruit, toast and yogurts without paying the extra which was all good. Would recogmend to a friend.

I spent a week in Edinburgh doing family research. The Thistle House was a wonderful place to stay. I was able to jump on the bus and be in the city center within 10 minutes; was very easy to get around and within a short amount of time I was able to get to many of the sites. Getting to and from the Edinburgh airport was extremely easy; as was getting a taxi. I would definately recommend this Bed & Breakfast to anyone looking for a place to stay in Edinburgh. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful! The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The room was very comfortable, clean and well maintained. It was a very quiet place to stay.

The Thistle House is tremendous value. What you get is a clean, warm and comfortable hotel. Not fancy or trendy, but including essentials, like tea and coffee making facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is perfectly adequate. Toast and cereal etc. Not the most centrally placed hotel, but I repeat, great value.

The owners paid a lot of attention to detail. The guest house is spotless and the owners are very welcoming. It's easy to park nearby and take one of the numerous bus routes into town. I would highly recommend this guest house as opposed to the overpriced city centre hotels.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. I was asked to pay immediately upon arrival. I then learned that the breakfast was a Continental one and not a full Scottish breakfast. This was extra. The romm was adequate and the bed must have been comfortable as I slept well - but it is unlikely I shall stay there again.

Great deal booking via partner [website]. Good location, 15 mins by buses (First or Lothian) to the city. Didn't appear to always have staff on site. Good service. Free breakfast included did not have hot food; this was extra, but had yoghurt, cereal, toast, fruits, juice and coffee. Free wifi available, ask for the pass code.

The staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and very obliging. The room was clean and tidy, bathroom very clean. And...the poached eggs were cooked exactly how poached eggs should be - soft! Would definitely recommend this place.
