The location to the beach. Didn't know where to sign in at first. The hotel was very clean and had parking lot for guest. It did have a damp smell, but it was a block from the beach, and the shopping.

We really liked this Inn. The Rooms were like a small Apartment. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it. I don't have any complaints. Didn't see a Pool but that was ok as the Ocean is nearby. Would rate a 4 1/2 travelers.

The bed and pillows was great, shower nice. The leopard carpet needs to go! Very nice. Old fashion feel.

On the spur of the moment we went to Cape May for the night. The inn was fantastic!! Very quaint, yet modern...loved the carpet. The pool is across the street at Congress Hall :) Will definately be back once they have the availability!!

It was squeaky clean and so quaint. 3 flights of very narrow stairs. We were pleasantly surprised. It was immaculate. There were even glasses in lieu of usual plastic glasses hotels supply. Extremely comfortable. Very quaint. Only complaint was the 3 flights of very narrow stairs which made it difficult with a large suitcase. We would certainly stay there again.

It was convenient for our trip, we only stayed there to sleep, really. Our room was disgustingly dirty, with an enormous water stain on the ceiling. It was disgusting, and the front desk was incredibly unhelpful. Our heater wouldn't work so we called the front desk and he told us to "turn it on and let it run for an hour, it'll warm up." This was at 1 o'clock in the morning, we didn't have an hour to wait, and by 6 in the morning, our teeth were chattering we were so cold. When we tried to change rooms, he was very unhelpful and didn't want to let us change.

Quaint, pleasant, well maintained, and comfortable. Restaurant food was not up to the quality of the rest of the facility. Very nice, cleaned comfortable highlighted the quaint laidback feeling of the local area!

Great location. Nice suite layout. Broken chair and sofa. Water drained slowly in the shower. Parking was a little tight. The Star Inn motel suite met our needs. It had a great centralized location and was close to the ocean. In fact, looking out our front window, we could see the ocean between buildings. The room was clean and cheerfully decorated in a 70's sort of way. The staff was cheerful and accommodating. On the negative side, the chair in the bedroom and the sofa in the living room were broken and the water drained slowly in the shower. We have stayed at beach resort hotels in the past and have learned from experience that these places take a lot of abuse during the summers and so we never expect the highest quality in these hotels.

This was the most romantic hotel I have ever stayed in, period. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. It was the off season in Cape May which, in some ways, made our experience even more enjoyable. The inn is 1 block from the ocean and is very centrally located. Service was excellent and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The excellent accommodations, the friendly atmosphere and the price. The hotel had everything that I needed and the hotel itself was very nicely decorated.

We were upgraded to a suite at the same low price. Ground floor suites open straight to parking lot. The star inn went above what we expected. Upon checking, we were upgraded to a suite. The room was great, 2 large rooms with a mini-kitchen. The room had both a front and back patio, with outdoor furniture. Staff was very helpful. Hotel was located in great section of cape may.

Great location which was close to beach and shops. Room was musty smelling and bed linen seemed damp both nights. The room was nice but smelled musty and even though the bed linen was very clean and attractive, it seemed to be damp each night.

Very accommodating, staff friendly and quick to help out. We had a small ant problem at the Starr Inn. I absolutely loved the room and decor of the Starr Inn, however we encountered a small ant problem, which was resolved quickly. They then moved us to the Congress Inn, which was wonderful, they upgraded us at no extra cost and gave us 2 rooms overlooking the ocean. So not a bad deal at all. Would stay again. Staff was extremely fast acting and very helpful, I give the staff and A+.

Location relative to beach, shops, restaurants and USCG Center. Room had ants and there was no coffee. Generally speaking, the hotel was nice.

The linens were extremely high quality, the bed was especially comfortable. It was difficult carrying all of my luggage up and down 3 flights of stairs. It was more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. It was very cozy, but yet modern. Very high quality linens, towels and bed. I would love to have taking a significant other with to stay there. The only down side is I had to carry my luggage up 3 flights of stairs and the reception desk was across the street in another hotel.

The cleanliness, bed, blankets, towels, robe and bath supplies were excellent. We were disappointed because we thought that breakfast came with the price. Old house, clean and maintained well. For the price there was little more than the room. The short distance to the beach or boardwalk was ok, but we found other hotels, the Grand Hotel, right on the ocean, that had more to offer. There is no one in the Star Inn itself, we had to go across the street to Congress Hall for our room key and combination entrance. There was free coffee there after 7 am.

Location was outstanding. We were in a motel Great location. The Star Inn appears to be a local establishment with three different types of accomodations. While we paid for a three star place we were given a room in a motel type accomodation versus the hotel or inn.
