Cancelled my booking a two days before arriving! Cancelled due to maintenance in the booked room.Messed up the alternative booking costing me more money than it should.Be very careful with this hotel.

Bottom line: Between the location and the size of the room, which is actually a suite (real kitchen, washing machine, living area), this is the best deal for your money. Pretty much everything in Glasgow is walkable, and the living area is modern and fairly spacious, and when I went, it was considerably cheaper than any comparable hotel room. Also, the staff is friendly and do everything they can to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. That being said, THIS IS NOT A HOTEL. It is several suites within a rather large apartment building, so it was not easy to find (we passed by it several times before we notices the very small sign on the building indicated that we were at the right place). Also, the staff leaves at 7:00 p.m., so anything we needed taken care of after hours had to wait until the next morning (like there being issues with our shower). They did fix the issue, but the response time was slow (since we couldn't tell them about the problem until the next morning). The staff was friendly and helpful, but again, limited in their capacity given their status as not being a hotel (no concierge, etc.). To avoid this shortcoming, the biggest suggestion I would make is to check in as early as possible, thoroughly inspect your suite, and given them a chance to correct anything that very same day.

Great Apartment AccommodationOn arrival, we were greeted in an extremely friendly manner. The staff on duty could not do enough for us, so much so that they indicated how long the cab would take to get to Hampdon, plus booked the cab. They also told us where to get a great cooked breakfast, which was extremely economical. The apartment was very clean and we were slightly suprised to have tea/coffee and biscuits waiting for us and even more suprised to have a full dishwahser and a washing machine!

Glasgow SightseeingI booked this as a treat for my and my Partner who is Glaswegian. The suites were superb!! Spacious, modern and spotlessly clean. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroomed suite with a large terrace and splendid views. We were in a perfect location for all of the main points of interest and there was lots of information in the guide provided. All in all we had an extremely enjoyable trip and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Spires Suites for a perfect place to relax and unwind.

The Spires - a reviewOn arrival at the apartment it was still being cleaned after 3pm. It had not been swept and there were small pieces of crisps on the floor. The accommodation was nice but in our opinion definitely not four star. We were unable to open the sofa bed in the sitting room and had to phone for help. The duty manager was very helpful, he could not do enough to help us. There was a great deal of noise from apartments around us and these disturbances were being dealt with constantly by the manager. In spite of this we were very aware of loud music and voices all night. In the morning we were very disturbed to see lots of cigarette ends on the corridor carpets and were disgusted to see a large mound of faeces on a side corridor on the carpet on our way out. It was a good price but we would not be happy to stay there again.

Birthday celebrationI have to say I enjoyed every minute of my stay there, I had a private rooftop garden which is great for entertaining guests, particularly if some of them smoke. It was great value for money considering a hotel is not much cheaper and comes with far less amenities,I was also impressed at the decor of the suite, I didn't expect it to look as nice as it did in the pictures. There is also a night porter /security guard who is on duty until 4pm..thumbs up to the Spires! I think in terms of apartments it's one of glasgows best kept secrets! The only thing is that I think the £250 they take for a deposit is pretty excessive, although a security deposit is only required for weekend stays and I got mine back within a week.

This was the first time we had stayed in an apartment, we usually use hotels. We did find it a little difficult trying to get into the building. The furnishings were a little worn and we could have done with a fourth comfy chair as there was only three, however we would definately stay again. The staff were very helpful and it was spotlessly clean. It was nice and handy for the shops and the station.

The Spires suites glasgowArrived at Hotel around 12 noon. Arrange to leave luggage in reception area until 2pm check-in. & left contact number. We went back to the accommodation at 14.40 as we hadn't heard from them. We had booked a 2 bedroom suite with sofa bed for 6 people. we got told that we were getting 2 x 1 bedroom apartments with a Z bed. We then got told later that they were giviing us another 1 bed apartment. It was a bit disappointing as we had booked this one as we all wanted to be together, however, we cannot fault the service & how the staff handled it. We got a very good deal with no hassle.Apartments are very clean. Would certainly come back if there was more than 2 in party.

Great stay at the Spires!Stayed at the Spires once before but this time had a HUGE terrace which was amazing, couldn't use it to our full advantage as it was pretty cold but I'll definately be requesting a similar room in the summer. Great value for money! 10/10

Great for familiesSpacious apartment, clean and tidy if looking a little worn in some places. The place was being redecorated when we stayed but it was unclear if that would stretch to the apartment themselves.Excellent for us with a young family - basic cooking equipment and complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and milk. TV with DVD and Virgin cable plus surround sound. Staff were really helpful when one of my kids was ill and we requested a 2pm check out.Easy access to motorways and ten minute stroll from the station. Use the written directions you are sent - don't rely on the Sat Nav as you're only looking for a doorway. Parking is an issue but the bays outside are free from 6pm until 8am so £3 in the meter at 5.30pm meant not moving the car until 9am. Alernatively there is a deal with a car park a 5 minute walk away.Much better than all staying in one hotel room - the £250 deposit only applies at weekends.

A very central position, quiet for a city centre location. Would stay here again.

Some fixtures showing damage/wear. Kitchen kickplate loose, sofa cushion torn, shower door faulty. Leftover garlic baguette in freezer. For what we paid it was easy and comfortable, despite a few cosmetics I would definately use The Spires again, and again!

I much prefer apartments to hotels, as it provides more flexibility on what you have access to – e.g. you can wash your cloths, cook a meal for friends and much more space than normal. Perfect if you're staying for more than a couple of days.Spires was clean, well appointed and in a great safe location. Loads of bars and restaurants within a few blocks. 1 minute away from the motorway. The only negative is that it doesn’t have parking. Some others in Glasgow do, so be careful to factor this into your calculation.

Good size, good standard, great location. Excellent self-catering facilities. Only downside is a lack of parking - discounted rate at nearby multi-storey or on-street pay and display just outside. Great value for money for groups

Suite was very poorly laid out (there was a pillar in the middle of the living room!!). Toilet seat in ensuite was broken, intercom didn't work, kitchen units were broken.

Apartment was modern, spacious, clean and central. Beds were huge and comfy. Most things you need in the kitchen even if they were basic. Everything you need really and much better than a cramped hotel room. Only one complaint and it was the noise of boy racers outside tooting their horns at 2am. Didnt last long though, and we did have the windows open as it was really warm that weekend. It never put me off. I'd happily stay again, and would recommend.
