A Peacefull BreakIts the small touches that make the difference, and the Somerville has plenty to offer, from the elaborate decor, the fantasticly comfortable beds, the ground coffee in your room and on to the wonderfull breakfast. If you can get in then do, and book a table at the Pear Tree, but remember the tables yours for the night so relax and take your time.

Greeted at door with pleasant welcome. Helped to our room with luggage (we are elderly). Room a little small for a long stay, also bathroom but for two nights was quite adequate. Very comfortable, lots of toiletries, bathrobes etc., variety of drinks (non-alcoholic!) on tea tray. Small lounge and bar and delightful breakfast room. Breakfast buffet bar excellent with such a variety of foods. Cooked breakfast delicious. Service very good and owners very kind at sussing things out for us to do - how to get there, timings, etc.etc. Apart from breakfast room the hotel is very ornate - not to our taste but, of its kind, very well done. Everywhere scrupulously clean. They work hard, best wishes to them.

A hearty recommendation for a wonderful 5 Star B&B I loved the the friendly and discreet service, the sumptuous room with a bed I never wanted to get out of and the amazing breakfast - I'd recommend the porridge with lavendar honey and lemon juice followed by a full english! Wonderful.

Fantastic HotelMy wife and I stayed at the Somerville for a week. We couldn't have chosen a better hotel and location. The owners, Grant and Adam were very helpful and a mine of information of where to go and where to eat. The hotel is spotless and fitted out to a very high level. The breakfasts were first class and easily the best food that we have sampled. Although not very important to some, there is ample parking for all the guests at the rear of the hotel. If you are looking for a fantastic place to stay in the Torquay are you could not do better than this, we would return there tomorrow for another stay, if we could!!!!

Will definately returnMy husband and I stayed for one night before running a half marathon in Devon. The Somerville was a wonderful place to stay and we would love to return with the children. Our room was clean and well decorated. There were lovely touches throughout our stay, like freshly baked cookies available. We had to leave on the Saturday morning before breakfast started so the host served us breakfast early. Really enjoyed everything about our stay.

a very nice little hotel with a friendly owner who explained everything clearly, a refurb is going on in the dining area, but that can be expected this time of year, it did'nt cause any problems, breakfast was excellent, as wwas the location for the town.

Stayed here on a business trip to the trade fair. Beautiful room (room No.1) very romantic! The service, cleanliness and decor in the rooms was on a par with a 5 star hotel. The attention to detail was impressive, every wish is catered for, wonderful selection of teas and coffees in the room, everything of high quality. Great attention and service from the manager. Would recommend this place to anyone, and just a short walk into town but with the benefit of parking as most b&bs on this road dont have anywhere to park. Will be back.

As a diplomat, I've experienced many world class hotels and have no hesitation in rating the Somerville as up there with the best for its class in terms of customer service, room facilities, decor and the quality of its cooked breakfast. The only negative (as a coffee lover) was the lack of fresh coffee at breakfast.
