The location right off of 4th street live was awesome! Very clean, and very fancy hotel! Would stay there again.

Staff was friendly and always available. Massive renovation. Hotel was both misleading and overrated. You have to park in the garage behind the hotel and it is not free for guests, instead you will pay $21 to park each day. Hotel staff is very friendly and eager to help, but they cannot overcome this hotel's misleading marketing campaign.

I've stayed in this hotel several times in the past several years and have noticed its steady decline. There are fewer employees; the rooms are increasingly in disrepair; and the quality of service has suffered. When my wife and I arrived at 11:30 pm on Friday, there was no one at the door, no one at the bell stand, and no one at the front desk. Instead, next the the front desk, was a kiosk where I had to swipe my credit card to get our room keys. As we had a vehicle that needed to be parked in the garage, we had to wait for several minutes before summoning an employee to get someone to park our vehicle. When we arrived in the room, the shelf in the bathroom was broken, the shower head was coming from the wall, some of the electrical outlets didn't work. The next morning, our key didn't work to give us access to the concierge floor, which we paid for, because there was no one at the front desk the night before. So, we had to go to the front desk the next morning for someone to issue new room key cards. When we arrived at the concierge room, there was only one employee, terribly overworked, who struggled to keep the room tidy and keep poor quality breakfast fare out for the guests. The concierge breakfast was poorer in quality than any Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, or comparable motel at which we have stayed, and a significant decline from previous stays. Also, continuing one of my pet peeves in hotels with rooms in excess of $200 a night, I'm forced to pay $10 a day for internet service. The last time I stayed at the Brown Hotel, down the street, it was far superior. So, this will be the last time (even as a Hilton Club Rewards Gold member) that we stay at the Seelbach.

I was only at the Seelbach for a night, but it was perfect for a Saturday night on 4th Street. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, and the service was awesome. The Seelbach is less than a block away from 4th Street, which is like a mini- Bourbon Street. It was the perfect location for one night of partying in Louisville. The hotel is also super-old and GORGEOUS!

This hotel is awful. The rooms are small, the hallways smelly musty and the elevators are ancient. The are no electrical outlets by the desk and the room lighting is poor. Heating and cooling is also poor. AAA 4 diamond rating is a joke!

Beautiful older building - well appointed. But stay started out with a negative - 3 staff standing on steps and no one helped my husband and me carry in 4 bags. This is not an inexpensive hotel and they charge $9.95/day for Internet service. In all of our travel during the last few years, even the most bargain hotel gives free Internet access. A disgrace!

Great traditional Southern Ambiance and luxury atmosphere. Bathroom much too small, 9.95 charge for internet. If the bathroom was larger and internet was free, I'd have given them a 5 star rating. The Seelbach fits the definition of a grand old hotel well and only needs a few minor tweaks to meet the criterion completely.

Lovely old hotel, lots of historic charm. The rooms are small and our windows did not open and were about 5.5 feet from the floor? Had to stand on tip toes to peek out but could look up and see the tall buildings. Lighting was abysmal in the room. Bath was redone and lovely. Lobby was lovely and made one feel like the sporting elite of the 40s. Great fun. Horsey motifs in the casual restaurant and gift shop was fun. Parking is expensive, but the valets are quick and amiable.

The noise that could be heard from the hallway at all hours of the night was ridiculous. A little soundproofing couldn't hurt, but considering how you could see right through the bottom of the door to the hallway, I would say a lot of soundproofing would be needed here. There were 2 restuarants - the Oak Room with all it's dress codes and expensive menu and the Cafe - we ate at the Cafe the morning we were leaving and while we ordered the buffet, I asked for eggs to be made in the kitchen. They forgot the order until we were getting ready to leave. I told them to just forget them at that point. Also, the shredded cheese on the buffet was spoiled. The neighborhood was very unsafe. There was a tiny fitness center and no pool. They would supply you a pass for the downtown YMCA, but that was 3 city blocks away - who wants to go that far? The only good thing I can say is the staff was friendly, but really, how far is that going to get you when every other part of the trip was just a waste of time and money??

The room was small for two people, the fine dining room was closed the two nights I was there and there was trash on the floor in the hallway that stayed there for two days.

The Seebach Hotel in Louisville KY was a great place for the wife and me to escape for a weekend. The standard Queen room while a little small was comfortable. The Staff was friendly and helpful. We had the breakfast on the Concierge lounge so I cannot speak the food at Otto?s Caf?. We did have Sat. dinner in the Oakroom which I recommend highly. The Old Seelbach Bar is a real treasure. With the best stocked bar I have ever seen a very good 3 piece jazz band playing at just the right volume.

It has a great location and the staff was helpful and enthusiastic. The bed was too small; the amenities in the room are not what I expected from a 4 star hotel. Very old fashion and traditional; however instead of looking vintage the amenities in the room appeared a little old and dull. The "queen" bed was actually a double but the location is great and the staff was friendly enough.

Nice place to get away. Very good location and romantic. Very comfortable bed, tiny bathrooms, but efficient. Terrific staff and old school layout. Very posh.
