Date of Stay: July, 2009

nightmarearrived approx 15-30 was greeted by a friendly receptionist and allocated room 32. The room was 'tired' but as we were only staying for 1 night it would suffice. Everthing was ok until 1amwhen the people from rooms 33/34 arrived back with a bang. They were noisy until approx 3-15am. At approx 6-50am we were awakened by an alarm (bugle reveile) which would have awoken the dead. It appears that there were people on holiday and working people mixed in the same block and this doesnt work. I informed reception the following morning and their response was we should have rung for assistance. As this involved getting up, dressed and crossing the car park i explained thatwas the reason we hadnt. As value for money this ranksas the worst experience we have had in over 40 years of travelling together. Indeed had we had the slightest inkling of what was about to happen we would have driven up the following day and had a reasonable nights sleep at home.

Scarborough at its bestThe staff at the hotel were all very pleasant, helpful and had time to answer any questions and advise on best places to visit and good food outlets to dine in. The bar was well stocked and priced reasonably. The breakfast was excellent value for money and they were flexible to change items (hubby didnt want fried bread so had extra sausage ).Overall a delightful stay and would not hesitate to use again.

Taking the parents to visit friends & familly for the weekend Very freindly and helpfull staff. Made yo feel as though they already knew all of our party. Most helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Hotel well located and close to most things. Parking was a bonus since some hotels charged for the pleasure. Lift made a difference for my father who is elderly and suffers heart trouble and this made choice of rooms easy. All the party (2 couples) enjoyed the stay and would certainly choose the hotel again - as many of the guests who were staying there at the time had done.

Weekend Stay In ScarboroughI booked this hotel due to it's cheap price and so was very pleasantly surprised with the standard. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, great with the children. Our room was clean and it was only a 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 minutes from the town centre. There is a little shop 2 minutes up the road which proved useful with the children. The hotel lends out hairdryers on request. The only thing I would have to say against it is that the walls are rather thin and so can hear other guests from time to time but if you don't mind this too much this is a great hotel to stay at for such good value for money. I will most definately be returning to stay here again.

clean but crampedWould not have liked to have paid more for this room than the late-rooms bargain rate.Accomodation clean but cramped and in need of refurbishment. Shower was just a trickle- could not have managed for longer than the two nights we stayed.Staff helpful in general but although we mentioned the shower, we were told 'all hotels in Scarborough have the same water pressure problems.' -Though the sink taps were fine.Noisy plumbing etc but no problems with noise from neighbours etc.Good location for short break.

Our reviewWe were very comfortable in the hotel, the hospitality was good the accomadation was good although there was a strong smell in our bathroom could have been the drains. We liked the fact that it was only 5 mins from the sea front a very nice walk.

A much needed breakHaving had a background in the Hotel and Catering trade my standards are high. This hotel met them fully having a pleasant and efficient staff who dealt with any issues with alactrity. The room was well equipped and comfortable and the food excellent.
