Lets start with the pool; make sure you have all your shots before entering the pool area. The ground was littered with cigarette butts and empty, crushed beer cans. The pool itself was very dirty and the hot tub had a brown foam oozing about its surface. Don't dare take a car since there are nowhere near enough spaces to park. The rooms have a mold/wet dog smell to them. The staff was interesting. I was lucky enough to be exposed to the day manager who seemed to have never been in a hotel before nevermind work in one and woken in the middle of the night by the drunken General Manager that ranted on that she was the owner of the hotel. Back in 1987 while on Spring Break in Daytona Beach I thought I'd never see a Hotel more in need of a wrecking ball, well now I have. I'll be calling all my old buddies this week to reminisce and share my recent horror story.

Although Sandhurst is not directly on the beach, it is on the inlet and has a small beach with a nice pool area. There are at least three really good restaurants within walking distance, and the ocean is only a short drive away. The morning breakfast is complete with eggs, sausage biscuits, bacon, egg and cheese biscuits, biscuits and gravy and much more if you love carbohydrates. Everyone was stuffed by the time they left. The staff here is really good.

We were pleasantly surprised on our first night in Florida to find the Sandhurst. It is a gem in the area, and we certainly enjoyed the small private, white sandy beach and the adjacent lighted dock on which one could fish or just stand and enjoy the water. The staff were cordial and helpful. The room, though not large, was pleasantly appointed. Side rooms have balconies with a water view, looking beyond what happens to be next door. Suites face the waterfront. Restaurants or a nearby ocean park are a short drive away.

Computer and printer available for guests was terrific! Breakfast (hot and cold) in a lovely dining area gave us a reason to get up early. Room with balcony was clean and good-sized, with large TV and desk. Staff was helpful at all times.
