The rooms were elegant and stately Our bedroom didn't have a table to sit at. The Salem Inn actually consists of 4 or 5 separate houses it seems. When we checked in, we had to actually walk a block down the street to another house with our luggage (something to keep in mind if weather is bad). The rooms were nice and private, though you could hear creaking as people walked by (not unexpected for houses being built in the 1800's). An information book mentioned there might be ghosts, but we didn't experience anything abnormal. Our room had a 13" TV. The continental breakfast was good, they serve bagels, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, quiche and juices. The location is relatively close to the Essex St. walk where many of the witch stores are located. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this quaint, clean, and classy hotel.

Clean, very cozy and homely, with a great old world feel. Not a thing. The Salem Inn has a great old world feel, like you have traveled back in time, which I find is very in touch with the whole experience of Salem.

History and outdoor dining area. Stairs. Quaint, lovely staff, historic. Narrow stairs and hallways, but high-ceilinged, spacious rooms. Nice restoration. Good location. Hard for people who can't do stairs.
