Does What it says on the tin, would come back!!I stayed in a very small single room, you could almost touch both walls. Having said that the room had everyhting I could need, a plasma TV, a small safe and hanging space.The Breakfast was freshly cooked and was good.The only negative thing I would say is the hotel is a bit like a fortress, all the doors were locked and you had to buzz the intercom to get in. On one ocassion when I came in through the bar I was chased upstairs and asked if I was a resident. I felt embaressed in front of on-lookers.All that said I would stay again and the hotel offers excellent value for money.

DisappointedThis hotel is clearly being refurbished gradually. My room had obviously not been. The toilet/ shower was fine but the bed was very uncomfortable with a very poor mattress. The carpet was very badly stained and general decoration shabby. The advertised hairdryer advertised as standard was available from the reception with a £5 deposit. Nice new flatscreen TV but I would have preferred a decent bed to get a good night sleep. I was using the training suite during the day and that was immaculate and excellent - but not sure I would stay overnight again.

Not upgraded as shown on web siteThe standard of the room was ver poor I work as a tour manager and this is the worst room I have stayed in, and this was a leisure break for myself and grandaughter and daughter. There were stains on the carpet and on the beds. when we moved a chair there was food still underneath it from previous occupants. Had to ask for hair dryer, on the wall above one of the beds was some metail shelf brackets with no shelf. The breakfast in the morning was not good the butter rancid and the sausage not cooked fully. A party was on until 14.30 in the morning we were not made aware of this until we arrived and this was very loud. We could have coped with that but if we had been able to get another room easily in Luton centre we would have moved. Very dissapointed.

I booked this hotel because your website said it had smoking rooms.When we checked in we discoved they did not.Also there was no mention of the proximity of the railway line,the line was only 150yds from our room,we were kept awake by trains going by every 30 minutes.

cheap but noisyThe hotel has an advertising point that it handy for railway. It is actually adjacent to a busy line and also a busy road junction. My room had 3 single beds and was a bit old fashioned but was clean enough.

Great HotelI was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff at the Royal Hotel, and the breakfast was brilliant. Overall, very good value for money and everything I needed.

Uncomfortable bed in room 111Room felt a bit tired and rough around the edges. Would not mind this normally if you can get a good nights sleep. Our bed was poor. You could feel each individual spring through the mattress.

A Good StayI needed to find somewhere central that was cheap and cheerful. This hotel ticked all the boxes.

This hotel was in the centre of luton, by the train station and the town centre. Exactly where we wanted it. The only problem was it was very basic and quite noisy at night. This did not bother us because we went to a wedding and had a drink so slept quite well. I would not recommend this room for romantic couples or families with young children. For the price though it was ok. Breakfast was ok there was enough on offer. It would have been nice though if the member of staff that served us our breakfast was more chearfull and offered us some toast as she did all the other guests....

Our room was dirty and in desperate need of decorating - plaster hanging off the walls etc. We both felt uncomfortable and had to request the bed clothes be changed as these were dirty. The bathroom floor was clean but the ensuite shower was dirty. There was no mention of being next to a very busy train line so neither of us slept. The breakfast was ok. Also advertises a bar - all under dust sheets! And advertises checking in and out at any time - this was not the case

hotel was all in all value for money and in a central location. the hotel advertised that there was a retaurant and bar, these were being refurbished and i was not notified of this. the rooms were clean and ok and the trains going past were only a problem if you spent a lot of time in the room, they did stop running at night. the bathroom was excellent and booked a single en suite and i had a double bed which was a pleasant surprise. i would recommend this hotel for a short stay eg 2 nights or 3 nights max any longer i would suggest staying somewhere else.

There was nobody in the restaurant and the bar was closed(19:30hour). The room was small and not clean. Heating was at maximum and a trainrail at the back of the hotel and a busy street at the front of the hotel resulted in a almost sleepless night. Late room should degrade this hotel in itt's rating!

was disapponted not to be told there were building works so there was no bar or restaurant at the hotel had to go out in the wind and rain to eat and drink

Our room was very shabby and smelled unpleasant. It had been cleaned to a good standard but there was a damp patch on the ceiling, the lamp shades were dirty. The decor and carpet was dirty. The sheets were clean although torn! The bedcover smelled stale and cigaretty. Bathroom was acceptable. No hairdryer in room. There was no curtain at one of the windows overlooking the busy street. The rest of the hotel that we could see appeared to be very smart including the entrance hall and corridors which were newly carpeted. The hotel was on a busy road junction and close to passing trains which was very noisy. It would have been useful to know this in advance.

i stayed in room 111 for 2 nights, the tv did not work, there was no curtain on one of the windows, and the carpet was grubby. compared to days hotel in luton the royal hotel is not worth the £53 a night i paid, days hotel is only £60 a night in the weekend and it is definately worth paying the £7 more at days hotel.

Hotel in middle of town centre on one way system by the main railway line, and is noisy due to inadequate double glazing.Hotel ilooks undergoing decoration so may improce, but the hall carpets were filthy. Friendly staff, and comfy bed, but not much else to recommend it ...OK if you have no alternative.Convenient for a quick drive to Luton Airport for an early flight
