i stayed in room 111 for 2 nights, the tv did not work, there was no curtain on one of the windows, and the carpet was grubby. compared to days hotel in luton the royal hotel is not worth the £53 a night i paid, days hotel is only £60 a night in the weekend and it is definately worth paying the £7 more at days hotel.

Hotel in middle of town centre on one way system by the main railway line, and is noisy due to inadequate double glazing.Hotel ilooks undergoing decoration so may improce, but the hall carpets were filthy. Friendly staff, and comfy bed, but not much else to recommend it ...OK if you have no alternative.Convenient for a quick drive to Luton Airport for an early flight

Dingy, small, uncomfortable.More like a building site than a hotel. Apparently this used to be a nightclub.....they still think it is!!

On arriving at the Hotel, the check in went ok and the Receptionist was courteous. On the way up to the room, the state of the Hotel generally was extremely poor, although I do appreciate that it is undergoing renovation. The room itself was very basic and not very clean (there were cobwebs in the corners and dust around generally). The television was working but was in dire need of replacing and the remote control did not work and I had to go to reception to get new batteries. The aerial lead was exactly that, no aerial plug, just the lead, which I had to plug in myself. The room was stiflingly hot and therefore we needed the window wide open, it would have been better if a fan had been supplied. This led to a poor nights sleep because of all the traffic and car stereos blaring out right through the night. The bed was also in desperate need of replacement, it was extremely uncomfortable. When we checked out the receptionist on that morning was very indifferent, I handed the keycard back to her and got an"OK" and she went back to whatever she was doing on the computer. All in all, the stay was very poor and I will definitely not be recommending this Hotel to anyone and certainly not staying there again.

I booked this at short notice before reading other reviews, which worried me. But the room was fine, spacious and clean. No noise problems (but it was a Monday night), and the lady on reception was very professional and courteous.

No lift to rooms. The rooms are very basic and the room was not very clean. The carpet was filthy and had to wash the glasses as they had not been washed properly. Customer service was dependant on the staff that was on. I requested a wake up call and never got it. The hotel is located in Luton just near the galaxy centre, there was a large group of lads hanging outside the hotel most of the night and as a single female put me on edge on leaving the hotel. On my booking i requested smoking room but the hotel is no smoking. You had to buzz to get in the hotel which became annoying waiting for someone to answer.

this hotel was absolutely filthy, carpets are thread bare, needs a good clean.room and corridoors smell of stale smoke and damp.the restaurant looks like it hasn't been cleaned for months, days before food was still on the floor dust all over table legs and windows.the bar was really dirty.overall i would not reccomend anyone to stay at this hotel.they have people staying there on a permanent basis that live on the social security so it is more like a hostel that will take anyone in.

Room was really nice but above my room, there was a screaming child that kept me awake until 3:30am. Not sure if the child was anything to do with the hotel or not. Came down next morning for breakfast, which I was reliably informed by the staff member the night before, would be served from 7am. This appeared not to be the case. I was in the restaurant at 7:10 and waited until 7:30 for a member of staff to appear. This did not happen. I went to reception to checkout as waiting for breakfast had already made me late for a meeting that I needed to attend. I waited at reception for a member of staff, no one around. I then used the telephone next to reception. It said press '0'. I did this four times but there was no answer. I waited another 15 mintues before just leaving the room key on the reception desk and exiting the building. I feel extremely disappointed by my stay in this hotel. I have stayed in around 80 different hotels and have never been treated this way before.

Car parking was awkward as entry to car park is generally locked up and requires someone to come out and let cars in or out.

On arrival, there was no hot water in the shower, although that seemed rectified the next morning. the rooms are above a pub and are noisy. rooms were run down.

Hotel is centrally located with lively bar which has the potential to be noisy depending on room location. Handy for restuarants and 5 mins drive from airport.

This is a pleasant hotel 10mins drive away from the airport. The staff were friendly and the included breakfast starts early which is good for travellers. The bar has a nice atmosphere and the Thai restaurant within the hotel serves delicious food. The decor is a little faded and the whole place could do with a smarten up and a bit of redecorating, but on the whole we had a good overnight stay before our holiday.

Not near to airport at all. no key for room due to issues with the software to write the cards for them. noise from the bar until 2 AM. Certainly not what you should expect from an 'airport' hotel where guests will obviously need sleep before early flights etc. the key situation was appalling - had to ask reception to take you to room each time.

The rooms on the 2nd floor could not be accessed by the key card so we had to ask a member of staff to let us in each time we left our room. The room was hot, tiny and very run down. A strange hotel with a fairly rough pub attached and a thai restaurant in the middle of the hotel. Staff however were very pleasant and helpful.
