would rec this hotel to anyone who needs some r and r. the rest and food were very good and the rooms and staff were wonderful. my only neg was that it was spring break for my 2 teens and there was no organized activities for them. all the teens would hang out at the bar at night. there is no teen area (1 pool table)

The hotel is great, great beach, food is very expensive ($$ dollars for lunch for 2) and not great. Very average food.

Apparently we were confused with our vacation Ritz pricing. We though that for the amount of money that we paid to the stay at the hotel the food was all inclusive, found out once we checked in that it was not. Be sure to confirm that your reservation is INCLUSIVE; prices for the food at the RITZ is ASTRONOMICAL. Oh and bring at least an extra $* just for tipping, which is expected by everyone. Excluding those major irritants?i.e. food prices and tipping, our overall experience was great. Know exactly what to expect for my next trip to Jamaica.

The resort would benefit from some fun activities by the pool that engage adults in addition to the activities for kids. The food was very extermely expensive!!! Transportation per person from the airport to hotel (which is 10 minutes away) $20.00 per one way trip per person. I spent $200.00 dollars in transport fees....

I had a wonderful time. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff was very professional and friendly. I loved the main bar off the lobby. The service was exceptional. The food in the restaurants was excellent I felt like I was dining in downtown Chicago. Room service was fast and delicious. I went down for Sumfest and the staff was very accommodating with transportation. My overall experience was great I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was fabulous, very ritzy and upscale. Service was great, food was delicious and best of all, it never rains at the Ritz!

"I had my wedding there, and it was badly handled by the Ritz staff. Some of my guests were not served any cake or champagne, and the hotel staff were rude to guests. We did not receive the wedding cake that we ordered. The wedding coordinators left before the event ended, and the proceedings were unnecessarily delayed. The pricing was too high for the poor service, and the Ritz was unwilling to customize, they imposed hefty financial penalties to discourage us from using outside vendors."

Resort was very nice and the restaurants were very good. Our only problem was the room. We arrived early and even though we informed the staff of this, we had to wait an hour for our room. When we finally got to our room, it was not what we expected. We ordered an ocean view and when we got there, the view we saw from our balcony was that of the neighboring hotel that was under construction. We called the front desk and asked them to move us to the room we ordered, they said that it was an ocean view room and that they are overbooked and won't move us. So, basically we didn't get the room we paid for and the Ritz didn't give us the type of service we expect. It became futile to argue with the staff so we just stayed in the awful room. We've stayed at a number of Ritz and this is by far the most shameful when it came to customer service. The resort is pretty but the service is far below what I expect when I stay at the Ritz properties.

This hotel is out of this world! Pristine grounds, beautiful pool, friendly and accomodating staff and an excellent location. I grew up in Montego Bay and know the best beaches around, and the beach at the Ritz is certainly not one of them - so don't expect too much unless you do not know better. The pool is great however, and very good for children (2ft around and 5ft in the centre). The only other thing that I was not impressed by was the price of the food. It was at least 2-3 times the cost of a regular meal - $15 for a kids cheeseburger and fries!! If you can afford this hotel I would highly recommend it - it is every bit of 5 STARS, so pack your bags and get ready to be pampered, attended to and enjoy the beautiful sun and people in the best city in the best Island in the Caribbean!!

My husband and I found this hotel to be a bit disappointing. The beach was littered with trash and rocks and the landscaping needed some TLC. The staff did not offer the same attentivness we have been spoiled with at other Ritz hotels in the past. However the Club level offered a private concierge who was superb and excellent food and beverage presentations. The White Witch rest. at the golf course has excellent food with a view to match

This hotel is probably the best hotel in Jamaica. After all, it is the Ritz. Let me start with all of the components of the stay. Beach -- the beach here is nice, albeit small, and definitely wear water shoes (rocks). The sunsets are great to take pictures during, and the hotel provides floats for one to lounge around on in a cordoned off area of the ocean. Pool -- The pool is large and has a very nice sitting area around it. No one goes at night really, so that is a good time to go (there really isn't anything else to do at night besides eat anyhow). The lounge chairs and area around the pool is first-rate, and the concierge follows you when you step into the pool grounds to the chairs you pick and then puts towels over them and makes a head pillow out of the towel you will dry off with out of the pool. You can also enjoy lunch from Mango's and order drinks from the various servers that come around poolside. Food -- I'm not sure what restaurant(s) one other reviewer ate at while here, but we went to EVERY restaurant and the food was magnificent. Expect to pay for it, however. Mango's has the mixed grill (includes Mahi-Mahi, a 4 oz. Steak, Jerk Sausage and Shrimp) for $47, and I would highly recommend it. Horizon's has an awesome dinner buffet, and includes a massive salad bar, dessert bar, and fried banana split bar. Expect to pay $45 per person for the buffet. And yes, a hamburger at Mango's is $20, but it's worth the price because it is a great burger. The Jerk Center is on the beach and has good food, but a very small selection. We dined at Mango's for lunch most days. All in all, the food is great, but definitely quantum meruit (you get what you pay for). Room -- 400 thread-count sheets, a fully stocked mini-bar (you'll pay for this too), and a glass shower are just the highlights of a very nicely appointed guestroom. Leisure -- The Spa at the Ritz is very nice, and the ladies/gentlemen's lounges can be used even without a spa purchase, and I used them several

"My wife and I, after two vacations at the Rose Hall, have now decided to use our annual vacation fund for a once-a-year dream vacation at The Ritz, instead of 2 or 3 vacations a year somewhere else. It's that good, and that expensive. Absolutely every employee is there to please you. The food is unparalleled and you should expect to gain a few happy pounds. During slow season, however, resign yourself to not venturing out of the hotel grounds (for anything other than the local ""greenery"") as you'll get mobbed by the friendly but mob-like local merchants."

"The room was very nice, the beach was extremely small and ROCKY!! Make sure you wear beach shoes. The staff was RUDE, there was no entertainment and the food was just OK. The price said RITZ, the service was not."
