Description:
The Richmoor Hotel is situated in the perfect position on the seafront opposite the Pier Bandstand in Weymouth, Dorset. Within walking distance of the town centre to the right and the Greenhill Gardens, Tennis Courts or Putting Green to the left. With the addition of some on-site car parking, on a first come first served basis, and a passenger lift it makes it an ideal hotel for older or less-abled people and welcomes all groups or families through its doors. We have the cheapest bar prices in any hotel in Weymouth and the bar accessible by only the ring of the bell outside of normal opening times. Our menu of home-cooked food is popular with guests and we ensure that you cannot leave the restaurant hungry by sending round platters of extra's if it doesn't reach you in time please just ask for the platter. Where possible please book dinner in advance, so not to catch us out on the chefs night off. This is very much a family-run hotel but is often referred to as being home from home. We are not big and grand but if you would like to feel valued and welcome with comfortable en suite rooms and friendly atmosphere this is the place for you. If you would like to upgrade to a sea view or book parking then please contact the hotel direct to arrange this.Your stay is of the utmost importance to us and we will do all that we can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Never again, the only thing good about this hotel was that we had clean towels every day, the shower, toilet room was disgusting the toilet seat and shower curtain were stained yellow the mattress cover was in bits the pillows were stained yellow and the skirting board was falling off the wall it needs a good cleaning and refurbishing. The dining room carpet was dirty and a vase of flowers on the side was filled with green smelly water when we arrived and was still there when we left.

just returned from the richmoore, where the staff were lovely, im a very fussy eater and i couldnt fault the food, the evening meal was lovely and the breakfast cooked perfectly, you wont go hungry as they also come around offering more. the room was very nice, with a sea view and very clean and tidy.there is a lift if you cant manage the stairs. there is parking outside with the use of a parking permit, we didnt have a problem parking. ideally situated for the beach and town etc. the only fault being the lack of tea coffee milk etc for the room,, there was two tea bags two coffee sachets, couple tiny cartons of milk for arrival but no more, however there is a shop outside where we were able to get milk coffee etc, thanks lorraine for the lovely warm friendly atmosphere would stay again .

Although the Hotel is on the Esplanade which is easy for people tacking the cross channel ferries Breakfast does not start till 08.30 so you finish up having to pay for B/B, I found that being on the front of Weymouth passing traffic and early morning deliveries, refuge collection kept me up all night

Never AgainThis was the worst experience of a Hotel i have ever had, It all went badly wrong from the very start, Our Room was double booked, but after the owner explained , i had an understanding for how it could happen, After a reshuffle of the quests, she then gave us the keys to the rooms, they had put a double bed in a single room and an extra mattras for a child so you can just imagine the amount of room we had,,,,, the room was not even tidied up properly after the previous quest was moved to another room, The water was cold so we were unable to shower in the evening properly, the next morning one of us was able to shower with hot water , before it was cut off in the middle of the next one showering. my daughter who slept alone in the single room could not sleep because of the smell from the drain in the room no matter how much deoderant she sprayed, the stench would not go away,,not to mention the terrible service when we got when we went down for breakfast,, when it finally arrived there was hair in my food which i sent back to the kitchen, the tea they forgot finally arrived when we asked for a third time, and after all that ,,,they had the cheak to ask us to pay which i did with great regret, the owner was a lovely lady but its a pity it does not rub off on to her staff, and maybe get some proffesional advice on how to run a hotel,,, However i would never recommend this hotel to anyone i know and we will never return ,

Absolutely excellent, best hotel i've ever stayed at, i felt like i was at home, fantastic food, brilI was amazed at how much the owner & staff of this hotel do for their guests, there were a few elderly guest there, you would have thought they were their family, they bend over backwards to make the stay enjoyable. Very clean, drinks so cheap i got a little out of my head, but they didn't mind as long as there was no bad drunks, the bed was the comfiest ever, didn't want to get up. And then to top it all the breakfast was heaven, with more of everything brought round, good job i wasn't hung over, otherwise it may have been too much. I will definitely go back again, as i feel i have made friends.i would very much recommend this hotel to all ages.

Lovely TimeA hotel that does exactly what it says on the tin. Our room was comfortable and had a lovely view of the sea and beach. Yes it could do with a quick lick of paint inside, but this is made up with a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. The breakfast is excellent. Thank you to all the staff at the Richmoor.

Don't Stay There - just awfulI have never stayed at such an awful hotel. It was just so unclean, got there and could have cried. It took the 'staff' 10 minutes to answer the door. They then sent us to the top floor - wallpaper peelings off the walls, shower was a cubicle and unclean.Breakfast was the best thing but everywhere felt so unclean. Nasty - dont stay there

Tired accom in superb locationAlthough site advises that limited parking is available, on arrival we were advised that we hadn't paid enough for our rooms and this was reserved for guests who had paid more! there is very little on road so had to park in park & ride, not very convenient and costly, rooms were in desperate need of updating and very small, breakfast included was great and the breakfast room staff helpful and friendly, the hotel is in a great location though, directly on the esplanade.

needs redecorationFor £25 in Dorset over Easter holiday, well, you cannot complain. The room was clean. Neither table lamps worked, and the shower contraption collapsed after use. But the place was clean, even if the alterations to the place to install ensuite bathrooms, lifts and fire prevention facilities were all done badly. The service at breakfast was excellent. The owner has, apparently, just bought out her ex husband. I wish her well.

Needs updatingWe stayed at the hotel for my wife's Birthday treat and my mother-in-law came too.We were allocated 2 rooms a double for my wife and I, and a single for my Mother-in-law, The double room was very cold on arrival and very basic, The bed had a ridge in it causing us to have the worst night's sleep in ages, there was an old shower in the draw under the bed which was odd!!! We had no hot water and had to have a cold shower the shower was very grotty, there was no blind at the window in the bathroom just an old net which wasn't private. The tv picture was a snow screen, I felt so sorry for my wife as this was her Birthday treat. My Mother-in-laws room was a tiny single room to the side of the hotel she had the lift shaft in her room and her bed in a tiny gap down the side of that and the window, she had to climb in from the bottom and being in her 70's having had a recent heart attack was not ideal. She had the lift noise constant and her shower also had cold water, The water seemed to be a problem as when we were at breakfast other guests had the same problem. I will say the hotel did refund £10 due to the small sinle room. The breakfast was ok. The whole place could do with updating, There was building work going on at the back of the hotel, We believe to add on more rooms but the money would be better spent upgrading rather tan maximising. We were led to believe there is parking with this hotel, but it was a building site and we had to find a space and lucky for us there was one in the small carpark at the front.

you get what you pay forlooking on the web at this hotel it looked a lovely place to stay with parking..this was not the case and we had to 'go away' until parking was available..apologies were given..welcome was good but the hotel was not to the standard as shown on the site, was very disappointed with the room and the facilities, bed was on a slope which meant we didnt sleep well at all the bookcase was falling apart etc, we only stayed for 1 night as planned and the saving grace was the weather and the sound of the sea

Nice people, poor product.Getting to the hotel at midnight and finding no parking, despite it being advertised with parking, was a bad start. A cold shower in the morning and a breakfast swimming in grease finished it off. The decor was poor, but all of that could have been excused given then price, but no parking and poor cooking was inexcusable.
