When you book online at an unknown location and not in a major chain there is always a little wonder and doubt "what am I getting myself into?" Boy-O-Boy did I come out the winner, I had to drive a few miles off the expressway but it was well worth it; and some. The chain hotels at the exit were about the same price, (the Resort was having a Special), and Ruskin doesn't have a lot of options. The accommodations were clean and beautiful, I was only there for one night July 4, there were fireworks on the beach, music and just a fun great time, and I am in my 60's. This is the kind of place you could stay a week, never have to go off property and hate to have to go home. I hope these comments ease some ones concern if you should stay there. If it's only half as good for you as it was for me it will still be twice as good as what you would normally expect. (Unless you are filthy rich and spoiled, I'm not.) Almost forgot, the beds slept great.

It was a 55 minute drive from Tampa but it was ona nice beach away from the city and niose. We were there during spring break and worried that it would be too much of collage kids but not at all. Teh staff was wonderful, Josh on the beach was always there to help with sailing, jet skiing, water for refreshment. Tehy forgot our wake up all on the day we left but otherwise it was great. i saw a sting ray while swimming, the food was great.

My favorite part was that it was away from city. After we spent the day in the city, we were able to come back to the hotel and relax. The kids enjoyed the play area and basketball court. They would have enjoyed the pool, but we just didn't have enough time in the day to do everything. The staff was very friendly. The room was a nice size with a balcony. The only thing was that the fridge didn't work in our room.

My best friend and I were looking for a nice hotel on the beach for a girls only weekend. This place was wonderful. The price was reasonable and the location great. The Resort and club at Little harbor was not a stuffy over priced up scale resort. It is a very nice quiet, yet classy place to stay. The staff was very friendly and willing to do what every was needed to make sure their guests were happy and comfortable. From the 1/2 mile private beach, tiki bar and resurant everything was great. The food was awsome. A little on the pricy side, but great. I will definately go back!

We really enjoyed our stay, the beds were the best, so comfortable, also liked the soaps that were furnished, had never used any of that kind. Loved the heated pool and jacuzzi, and there are lots of activities for the kids to do. We were disappointed that the larger pool by our room was so cold, I was told the heater must have gone out, it was freezing, so everyone had to go to the smaller pool, which got a little crowded. But it wasn't a major thing, overall we had a good time looking for shells and just relaxing. It's a very nice place to stay and will probably stay again, if the need ever arises.

What an awesome place for a getaway from the major tourist traps. Staff was very friendly & accomodating. Beach side Tiki Bar was awesome. A beautiful private beach, two great pools, one outdoor spa. The fitness center was top notch, plenty of machines and free weights (if you want to work out while on vacation, that is!). Very secluded anfd out of the way, but just 20 minutes from the night life in St Pete or Tampa if you want to find more to do. Some mentioned that they didn't know where to rent wave runners or kayaks, but that was not a problem for us. They were right on the beach. Terrific place to go if you want a nice, quite relaxing vacation at the beach away from all the putt putt golf, go kart tracks & surf/souveneir shops of places like Myrtle Beach. The only con I can think of is no in room safes, but they do have safe deposit boxes at the front desk. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We were 'upgraded' to a condo room - which should mean it is much better than the hotel, right? The view was stunning which made up for the small and impractical room - no counter space and closets practiacally on your head at night, lights that turn on in the middle of the night for no reason and some horrible smell that we could not get rid of. We found leftovers in the room - on the water heater whch mens either they don't clean everything each time someone leaves or they are simply not paid to check everything, it was gross!! I was afraid of mold so we left the slider open at all times and were very wasteful by running the air when we ere in the room to blow out the smells, the staff could not figure it out either,,however, we did see manatees in the morning in the harbor and we saw dolfins in the bay, and the beach was very nice and clean,,,the food at the restaruant was tasty but overpriced, we ate there anyway. We were out most of the day so the room was not a big deal by the time we left, I am sure it was better than the hotel side since it seems there were bugs over there and it was only 2 stories and we were on the 4th floor right on the harbor, we saw an osprey our last day - it was so cool it was right near our window - great pics!!

The hotel is at the end of a very long road and this leaves you in a very quiet location. The hotel is busy Friday and Saturday but we felt like one of very few the rest of the week. Tiki bar was busy with local on the night and had a good atmosphere. Good mid point location to go to Sarasota one direction and Tampa the other. A ten minute drive to Sun City Center opened up lots more restaurant choices.

We stayed recently and the private beach was great. The area the resort is in, however, is not ideal. It was hard to find any local restaurants or anything to do since the surrounding area is sort of run down and isolated. Also, the rooms were not cleaned well. The bathrooms and floors looked dingy, so we moved rooms (our shower did not appear to have been cleaned, nor did the floors). Also our fridge had mold in it when we got there. The food at the resort was great and it was quiet and beautiful. The staff was helpful, for the most part, but not overly friendly or apologetic for the dirty room and fridge. Nice, quiet, relaxing vacation with a few issues.

The hotel was very clean and nice. A very comfortable stay. Once employee made us wait a little longer than we should at the front for what seemed to be a personal phone call. Will stay there for future trips...

This was our second week-long stay. We stayed there the previous spring to enjoy the warm weather and relaxing atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool and hot spa was enjoyable. The sunsets were fantastic. There are not a lot of activities outside of the pool, fitness center, or tennis courts. I saw people fishing, and there were kayak and jet ski rentals. It was not crowded, except for the weekends. Several weddings were going on, but it did not impact our stay. Food was good at the Sunset Grill, but there are other places to eat in nearby Ruskin. The resort is close enough to Tampa to run in for other activities during the day or evening. We are looking forward to next years visit.

The Resort and Club at Little Harbor is a pleasant place to stay, but is not close to any attractions. Aside from the restaurant that it contains, there are no close places to dine. We drove an hour on highway 41 to Tampa or an hour to Anna Maria Island for dinner. I was happy that we had requested a junior suite, since we used the refrigerator and microwave often for breakfasts and lunches. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware. We enjoyed having a table and two chairs there. The pool was lovely, but not heated. The room was spacious, however, the lighting was not adequate, to the point that it was difficult to relax with a book there. I would have appreciated an overstuffed chair and good reading lamp.

"This place is a quiet and peaceful. This resort is perfect for people who want to get away from the hustle and bustle and just RELAX. Nice decorated, comfortable and clean rooms if you just want to veg-out. There is the beach, 2 restaurants, dock to fish, boats and wave runners to rent and pools for activity. Will probably go back. Staff and service are great."

This place was absolutely amazing. Breathtaking views from our room, friendly staff everywhere around the resort. The pool and jacuzzi were super clean any time we went to use them. The restaurant was wonderful, great service, great food and what an awesome view while you ate. I had read reviews before we went and people complained about things not being clean, the only things we seen not clean our whole stay were the things that other guests left for someone else to clean up, towels, garbage, cans and bottles, this however is not a staff issue but a guest one. The beach was beautiful, they sweep it everyday so it is always clean and smooth. I would definately go back and would take the kids in a heartbeat, lots for a family to do or a couple who wants to get away. Kudos to the Resort at Little Harbour, it was everything we expected and more!!!

We stayed at the Resort at Little Harbor the week of July 23rd for 4 nights. When we checked in, we were given a room on the second floor, however there is no elevator and no one to help you with your luggage. The resort is beautiful but there was hardly anyone there. On our floor there were two other rooms occupied and that was it. The rooms are huge and we had a great balcony with a limited view. The resort is in a little tiny town and there is little to do other than sit on the beach. The only restaurant at the resort had basic bar food, nothing special at all. We were disappointed in the resort and would only recommend going there during the winter season.

"It was a pretty nice resort, but they were doing a lot of construction around it building new condos. Should be really nice in the next year or so. Beach looked much nicer on the pictures on the site. There were a lot of rocks and shells all over the beach and water was pretty murky in this area (not that the hotel could do anything about this). Restaurant was average. 2 small pools on the property (the spa was out of order the entire time we were there.) Rooms were nicely decorated and had a refrigerator. Overall a nice place to bring family for not too much money."

"the complex is under massive construction and development, hence some parts are done, others concrete blocks. food cafes and beach are very nice, rooms just average, lotsa boats in harbor and nice beach area. in the middle of nowhere, town of rushkin is very weak... enjoy it there for your other option is a 20 min drive into tampa which we did. very quiet and peaceful, little action of any type going on"

"This was our familes first vacation. We loved the resort. It was so peaceful and the security officer was always driving around. We really liked the fact that it is secluded, and not over crowded. The view is beautiful at night, and the drive to Tampa or St. Petersburg is short. Can't wait to visit again"
