The service was excellant, friendly and knowledgeble staff. Beautiful room, love the mix of old and new accomodations. Right in the middle of the old financial district. For someone that wants to get away from the "cookie cutter" chain hotels, can't beat it!

From the outside, the Redmont looked very nice, but the further away from the front desk you were, the worse it became. The hallway to my room on the eleventh floor was narrow. My room was very small. The bathroom was not even big enough for the tub and toilet (the door hit the tub when open). The carpet in my room had stains all over it and a couple dead bugs in the corners. It was so bad, I was afraid to take my shoes off! I couldn't help but feel nasty, and that I needed another shower after being in the room. To sum it up, it was nasty, cramped, definitely not even a two star hotel, and definitely not worth $100+ a night. What continental breakfast (unless you like stale croissants and only six bagles to pick from. Pitiful! I would NOT recommend this hotel to ANYONE!

If you plan on going down town to the clubs, this hotel is in a great place. It is about 5 minutes away from all of the down town entertainment. Although it is an older hotel, I was satisfied with the room. Alot better than expected! For the price you can't beat it. Check in was quick as well as check out. Didn't get to experience the restauraunt.

The staff was great, they checked me in three hours early. They were very helpful with directions as well. The location is great...only five minutes from five points and a short walk from downtown. For the right price i don't think anything brimingham has to offer is better.

Great hotel in the heart of downtown and within walking distance of the Summit Club. High speed Internet in the rooms and complimentary airport shuttle makes it ideal for business travelers. Comfortable bed and clean room.

Don't let the outside appearance discourage you. This grand old hotel has been beautifully updated and is a treasure to find in the downtown area of Birmingham.

Check in clerk was more interested in text messaging on her phone vs. checking me in. Eat before you get there. It is a bad sign when you walk in a restaurant at 7:30 pm and there is NO ONE there. Food choices are very limited. My chicken ceasar salad had warm ranch dressing on it. Hmmmmm. However, I did not get sick. Don't valet park. The lot they use is across the street and open to everyone walking by. It is $5 if you park yourself vs. $15 if you valet. Room was clean and nice. However, faint smell of sewer was present. I assume it was because it is such an old hotel.
