The Red Lion Hotel Prague

This 4-star small historical hotel is centrally located in the picturesque Lesser Town (Mala Strana) close to the Castle and within a short walk from the famous Charles Bridge. Charming and comfortable accommodation with plenty of character in a quaint area away from the tourist crowds, yet very central. ***LOCATION*** The hotel is situated on the left bank of Vltava river in the upmarket Castle quarter of Mala Strana, surrounded by picturesque cobbled streets, ancients burgher houses, many embassies and lovely gardens and parks. The hotel is a 15-min up-the-hill walk to the Castle and close to Kinski Gardens and Waldstein Gardens. Charles Bridge is within 10 minute-walk and across the bridge lays the historical Old Town (about 15-20 min walk from the hotel). Most attractions are within walking distance; however there is also a metro stop - Malostranska (1 tram stop away from the nearby Malostranske Square). ***EXTERIOR*** The property is a historical house from the 15th century combining features from several periods from Gothic to Baroque style. Particularly unique is the facade which is connected with the 17th century famous painter Peter Brandl who was born and lived in the house. ***ROOMS*** Rooms are spacious. They are nicely and elegantly appointed with antique furniture and restored painted wood-beam ceilings. Bathrooms are modern, but vary in size, some with bath and some with shower only. Top floor rooms have beautiful views of Petrin Hills. ***RESTAURANTS & BARS*** The hotel restaurant offers Czech, international and vegetarian cuisine in a dining room with original Renaissance painted beam ceilings. (open 07:00 - 22:00) A bar and a wine restaurant are located in the basement in historical cellar rooms originating from the 1300's. Continental buffet breakfast included. ***OTHER INFORMATION*** Please note that the hotel's area is hilly with cobbled streets and therefore not very suitable for those with mobility problems.
