One Night in BrightonThe Queensbury, was what it was, a very cheap hotel for one night in Brighton. Personally the hotel was the right fit for us. I have stayed at many hotels through out the world, and seen many "beautiful lobby hotels" with rooms less comfortable than the Queensbury.

No frills but good value for money stay.Very good VFM. Friendly staff . Nice continental breakfast . Standard Rooms have shower but toilet on landing but found them to be clean and very close by. The only negative is that the towels were not changed on a day to day basis but took wet/dirty towels to reception where they were exchanged for fresh ones and that the bedding was not changed or made up on a day to day basis, we didn't actuall y mind this too much though The Queensbury is in Regency Square which is only 100 Meters from Beach and 200 Meters from town center the othet direction. The NCP car park is directly opposite and below the Queensbury and is £12.50 for 24 hour stay. We had a very enjoyable stay.

nice hotelthe hotel staff were really friendly and the room was clean. the bathrooms had been built in to the rooms and you could hear the water running down the pipes from other rooms but that was the only downside. clean towels every day would have been nice too but apart from that really great place to stay- just off the beach in a lovely square right next to the car park so it's quieter than the main drag.i would definately stay there again.

excellenti stayed at the queensbury for 2 nights with my partner and we were both very happy with the place. we had a twin room which was comfortable in size and furnished tastefully. Its not 5 star luxury but its clean,tidy,comfortable and for what we paid it was perfect. The location was spot on too, overlooking the west pier and just a 5-10 min walk to the main pier. The breakfast is continental and consists of toast,cheese,ham, cereal etc, it was basic but tied us over untill lunchtime. All in all the queensbury is a good place to stay and i would stay there again. The only negative i found was that there are no toilets in the rooms, they are out on the landing. But other than that, it was great.

Friendly staff, very basic room and facilitie and adequate breakfast,overall good value for moneyWas anxious about staying in the hotel as had been advised by an email and telephone call that the hotel did not like Hen parties staying in their hotel due to unruly guests. Were advised that if we were noisy then we would be asked to leave.My mind was put to rest though when we were by a friendly receptionist and checked in very promptly. The rooms were very basic but as we were only using them as a place to sleep we expected this. Found a used cigarette end in our wash basin but otherwise everything was clean and tidy.Very pleased with how close the hotel was to the shops, bars, clubs, beach etc but make sure you have some change put aside as the NCP car park charges £12.50 a day.All in all a lovely stay, would not use this hotel for a romantic/family stay but good for young people or those traveling on business.

BreakfastThe breakfast was fine but a full English would have been better. The rooms were lovely and clean and the hotel had really kept its charm. All in all, the stay was fine for a business/weekend trip.

On arrival the staff were very polite and helpful. We had room no 5 which was on the second floor so there were alot of stairs to climb! The room was clean and tidy with comfy double bed,armchair dressing table and seat. There was a colour tv, tea and coffee making facilities which is not advertised on website, these were restocked every day. The room was en suite, towels were changed every day. Shower was an electric shower so no problems with hot water. Breakfast was continental,with cereals, ham and cheese plenty of bread and jams and maramldade, two toasters. Dining room was clean and tables cleaned as soon as guests had finished eating. Checking out time was 11am, our train did not leave until 5pm so they let us leave our cases in the dininig room which was securely locked. We had a set of keys each for the front door. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyoneHotel is situated 3 minutes from the west pier(this is the burnt down one) 5 mins walk to conference centre plenty of shops within 5 minute walk, shortcut round back of hotel, with lots of places to eat and drink. The wetherspoons as usual was good value,10 min walk past conference centre. Brighton is very much uphill from sea front to shops and railway station.

The worst Hotel I have stayed inCustomer ServiceDifficult to rate as their wasn’t any. Not much of a greeting, not friendly at all. Just doing their job and that was it.CleanlinessStayed over two nights, they didn’t come in the room on the second day so still had wet towels for the second night. As the room was small no where for the towels to dry. Only one bit of soap between us and a sachet each of shampoo. Just laziness and cheapness. Quality of room. A shower that would be better placed in a prison camp. When I say shower I mean a cubicle with a hose pipe at the top would be a better description. Quality of Food. Continental breakfast. A joke. Ham, cheese, juices (revolting), toast, coffee, tea, cereal. Help yourself. That was it. We ended up going to the café in town for breakfast. The hotel just wanted your money and made no effort to offer any type of service.

50th Birhday Great stay

It beats Travelodge, was nice!Me and my boyfriend recently stayed at the travelodge in Brighton City centre and the room was pretty poor, so we thought next time we'd give a local hotel a go! The queensbury hotel was quite cheap, £39 for a double room including breakfast for us both. We read reviews calling it 'similar to a hostel' - well the location is brilliant right on the seafront and when you walk in it looks really posh and lovely and as you walk up the stairs there is a shared bathroom on each floor which is actually really nice - big white bath etc! As we got to the top floor where our room was situated, it was clear that the cheaper rooms were on the top floor and the shared toilet was quite dingy.However, our room was quite nice so that made up for it. There were sachets of shampoo and body wash waiting for us, as well as lots of tea bags and a small packet of cookies and biscuits in the tea tray. There was a small shower cubicle in the room which was quite bizarre, I thought it was a wardrobe! but nevertheless, quite convenient. The bed was nice, tv, towels etc. Staff seemed very nice checking us in.The next day when we went down to breakfast, it wasn't brilliant but what can you expect for the price (we added breakfast to our stay for an extra £2 each!). Breakfast was VERY cheap slices of ham on a plate and slices of cheap cheese. There were small packets of cereals and a load of bread which you could toast, jams, butter, dairylee etc etc.Overall, the staff were very nice. The hotel is in a great location with an NCP right next to it, the hotel looks really good inside and VERY clean. If you're after a cheap stay I'd recommend it as it is so much better than Brighton city center travelodge, as long as you don't mind sharing a loo (I dont know if its the same with every room) and arent bothered by a very simple and basic continental breakfast then I'd say stay here. I would never describe it as similar to a hostel...I've stayed at the churchill palace

Decidely AverageFirst impressions good from the outside and nice and clean inside with a friendly welcome. Rooms are very clean but very basic and are nicely decorated but could do with a refresh. We stayed in a superior double in order to get the en-suite shower room but I would not say the room was superior, more basic. There was not even a towel rail in the bathroom to hang wet towels or a remote control for the tv. It was ok for the one night at the late rooms rate but dfintely not worth the full normal price. Parking nearby which is good. Breakfast only Continental style which was ok but again basic. Staff did not ask when we checked out if our stay was enjoyable which gives the impression they are not really interested.

Overall good valueA little dissapointed with the Continental Breakfast and the Dining room was a little cramped making it difficult to move around think possible due to the seating arrangements.Everything was easy other than this and Room 15 was lovely and bright.
