Date of Stay: January, 2009

I had an ocean front room (room 808). Upon arrival the room was extremely hot and I tried to cool it down with no response from the air conditioning unit. I called the front desk and they promptly sent someone up to look at it, and eventually replaced it with another unit. Later on that night around 4:00am I awoke to find around 10 to 12 very large roaches in and around my bed. I tried to fight them off and immediately call the front desk for help. They sent someone up right away to kill them, and put me in another room (1106). I had an appointment in WPB FL so I had to quickly repack my things (making sure nothing got in my luggage) and left for West Palm. I returned back to the hotel around 3pm and tried to relax by the pool and then retired around 9pm. Once again I was woken by the crawling and biting of roaches on me. Again I called the front desk they sent someone up to help and offered to put me in yet another room. By this time, after not sleeping for the second night, I was a nervous wreck and there was no way I could fathom staying another second in the roach motel. I told the front desk I wanted a refund for the two nights and wanted to cancel the rest of my stay. I called customer service number. I explained the situation to her and she was able to cancel the last part of my stay, but could not help me with a refund of my two horrible nights I had to endure at the Plaza Resort and Spa. I am very disappointed that the resort did not contact me to resolve it or apologize. Very bad for business. WARNING .... stay away from the ROACH MOTEL.

We enjoyed the trip but the hotel smelled very moldy and the steps that lead to the beach needs to be cleaned up (weeds need to be cut and steps cleaned off). We really liked being close to everything. Would definitly keep the Plaza Resort and Spa in mind for our next travel opportunity.

The hotel was fabulous! Staff went out of their way to be helpful, wonderful local on the beach! Loved having a fridge and microwave! Our room faced the strip, but for what we paid we couldn't complain a bit! We had a wonderful experience here. Staff went out of their way to help us especially when we arrived at 1:30 am! The pool and beach are fabulous! The rooms are nicely done. Loved having the refrigerator and microwave in the room.

Arrived in the early morning tired and frustrated from delayed flights, only to go up to our room and find bugs everywhere. On the bed, the wall, it was disgusting. We went back down to inform them and then were put in a room that already had an occupant! Horrible experience.

I liked the hotel overall. The lobby is very nice and the rooms were well maintained. The front desk ladies were mostly nice, seemed a little tense or something that day. I did not like the service at the small cafe in the lobby. We did not eat at the sit down dining room, we just had time to use the small shop in the lobby. The counters were very dirty the two times we went in there. The lady in the morning was not nice at all to guests. The coffee was terrible and at $2 per cup, it should be a darn good cup of coffee. Prices at the small cafe and convenience shop were very high. I did enjoy the stay. Will stay again, but will bring my own munchies.

Beautiful public spaces and convenient location. Uncomfortable bed/pillows. Very lovely hotel and the Plaza has the most attractive exterior of all the hotels located on Daytona Beach. The rooms appear to be recently renovated and are nicely appointed with flat screen TV's, upgraded counter tops and cabinets in the kitchenette and new appliances.

We were very happy with the hotel accomodations. Our room was ready when we arrived, clean and welcoming. All of the staff were courtious and helpful. The housekeeping staff was excellent. The only thing we were not happy with in our room was the size of the bathroom, no room at all for getting ready. Access to the beach, and ocean view were beautiful! We enjoyed our stay at the Plaza and hope to return for our next trip to Florida.

it was everything that we had expected. i was disappointed, however, that we had to settle for a 'city view' room unless we wanted to pay extra per night to upgrade. (and the sound of traffic at night was sooooo loud!) the front desk said that thats the rooms orbitz books. big bummer! the hotel was nice, just like the pictures. a nice big tv & fluffy pillows. the pool was a nice size, the water was very warm. the bad things are: the air vent over the tub/shower was just a big hole & you could see into the duct work- the faucet was coming out of the wall- there was absolutely no counter in the bathroom to do your hair or put on makeup, or to put your toothbrushes for that matter. we did love being close to ihop, it was soooooo good! the frozen drinks at the bar by the pool were tasty too.

We booked four rooms and had issues with three. Room # 1 Fruit flies everywhere (caused by something decaying in one of the cabinets). Room # 2 Ants and bugs in the shower. Room # 3 Wind whistled through the sliding glass door Manager did change room #1 once the source of the fruit flies was known and promised a $* credit to my cc. They never issued credit until rep from Travelocity got involved. Restaurant and bar had very limited hours

We stayed 3 nights. Huge pool, oceanfront location, right in the heart of Daytona Beach. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The hotel is very old but has been remodeled and brought up to date - beautiful marble floors, beautiful old woodwork and mouldings, new carpet and paint. The beds were wonderfully comfortable. It was obvious that the resort took great pride in their establishment and it showed throughout the quality of our stay. We plan on going back next summer and spending an entire week.

It was so much fun, we stayed for 5 nights there and we were right down the beach from a cool shoppong center with a movie theater and great food places! Our girls loved the fact that we could walk on the beach to go eat and watch a movie. It was so relaxing as well, the pool being right on the beach was great because you got to enjoy the sounds and sun but relaxing by the pool, they also had a tiki bar by the phone that was great (was very high in prices but nice when you wanted something). All and all great vacation.

This is the 2nd nicest hotel on the beach in Daytona. It is really individual condos, the staff could not help with an absurd problem. The hotel rooms are individually condos. For some reason, my room, which faced the lights of the strip/main drag, had room darkening shades that did not cover the whole window! It left about 3 feet exposed to the glare of the street. They have had complaints about this in the room before but cannot fix it because the room owner does not want to spend the money. Absolutely absurd, never heard of a situation like this.

Stayed last June 2008 for 1 week. Lived up to its 4 star rating. Very clean and staff very helpful. Only issue we faced was the poor kid workng the poolside bar and grill was left all alone on a busy day. We spoke with the manager and they comped a couple breakfast for us.On line now to book another week for June 2009.

I stayed here with 3 other girls and we had a blast. Plenty of room for all of us in our room. Bathroom is kind of small. Would definitely stay here again. The best beds in the world, so comfy! I would like to see them drop the room safe and parking charge.
