This hotel is older, however, don't let that discourage you. We stayed in a villa which had been remodeled. The kitchen needs updating next. Overall we had a great experience. We brought our own sail boat and could moore it in the canal next to the hotel. My daughter loved the pool. It was heated and no deeper than 4 ft. We swam with manattees which was the highlight of the whole trip for me. We went over spring break and it was very quiet. We live in a tourist related area and the slow non-tourist focus was a welcomed feature.

We started a little rocky when the front desk clerk described the room as having two double beds. We had booked a king bed through Orbitz. The front desk clerk was very nice and apologized. He looked at the Orbitz booking and acknowledged it stated a king, but he did not have any king rooms available. The entire inn was booked for the Valentine's weekend. It was midnight, we were tired, we agreed to the double room.We got up early the next morning and walked to the Inn's dive shop that was just outside our door and went on a "Swim with the Manatees" tour. The staff in the dive shop were polite, professional and efficient. We enjoyed this tour with Captain [...]. The tour was about 3.5 hours and covered about 4 locations. We will do this tour again when we return.We went to two local resturants to eat lunch and dinner. There are lots of good seafood resturants within 5-10 minutes of the Inn. We had a very good grouper sandwich at Cracker's. Our plan was to play golf on Sunday, but it started to rain just after we completed our morning run. The golf course is right across the street, and what we could see on our run looked nice. All in all we had a very relaxing time, and we will plan another trip soon. Our only complaint about the room, besides not getting our King bed, was the air conditioning. It was warm for February and we could not get the temp to drop below 78 in the room. We both like it cooler while we are sleeping. If the AC does not work any better in the Summer months, it would be very uncomfortable in the room. This was our first trip to Crystal River, and we plan on going back when we have a long weekend. We will stay at this Inn again and we will bring our golf clubs and fishing poles. Hopefully the weather will be better on our next trip so we can sit out by the pool and watch the boats go by.

We only stayed 1 night, but we had a great time at the hotel. It's a lovely older hotel that seems to have been remodeled lately. Fitness center is excellent. Pool area was very pretty and enjoyable with the exception of some foul mouthed teenagers (they seemed to be locals). Staff was helpful with said teenagers, and they also helped locate croquet mallets for the lawn. We were allowed to have a noon check-out to accommodate our swim with the manatees (which was amazing!!!).

We were going to swim with the manatees in Crystal River. If you're going there, the Plantation Inn was a good place to stay. We stayed in the newer (remodeled) rooms. Ask for them. Only drawback was the restaurant (Savannah). Only about 9 people in dining room when we were there and still service was poor. Food was not tasty. Overpriced for what we got. Soup was really poor! Would not eat there again but would stay there.

My friends and I stayed at the Plantation Inn for a quick getaway and had a blast! The hotel was beautiful, it definitely had that "southern charm" feel to it and actually looked like an old plantation it even had rocking chairs along the front porch. The staff was very friendly and always greeted us as we passed in the halls etc. We spent the first day by the pool which was surprisingly large with lots of lounge chairs and there was even a bar out there so we never had to leave the pool area. The second day the front desk help us arrange a fishing trip with the dive shop that's also right there at the hotel. So we charted a boat which took us all the way out to the gulf. The next daywe all ate at their Sunday bunch which was great, I was actually surprised at how much variety they had with even cook to order items. all and all our stay was terrific and we never had to leave the resort area. We will definitely be back next year, hopefully for the manatees in spring, I've told it's an amazing experience.

The Plantation Inn is very quaint. It's positioned on a beautiful river with a great view from the pool. The bathroom was a good size with a seperate vanity area.The restaurant had a good atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The staff was not helpful. I asked for the reservation to be a garden view and was informed that online travel website messes that up all the time...and was given a lovely view of the parking lot. Room was stuffy. Access to the 2nd floor was hard to find and not conducive to bringing any luggage upstairs (and heaven help us if the staff would have only thought to help out! - wouldn't even help find a luggage cart)
