A lot of money has been spent on this hotel and it shows, The room we had was lovely, the new ensuite look good and there was plenty of shower pressure and hot water, the staff were friendly and very helpful. We had bed and breakfast and the choice was great. The quick check out was a great help, all in all I would say hard to beat.

friendly and helpful staff at city centre hotelMy friend and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and found that the staff both on reception and in the restaurant were friendly and very helpful. The food in the restaurant was very good and reasonable priced. The hotel is right in the city centre so is convenient for shopping and restaurants. The only downside is that the hotel car park needs some renovating and the entrance/exit area to it seems to be full of taxis.

this hotel is showing it's age, the carpets and furniture are worn, the front desk staff are not helpful, all in all it's over priced for it's quality.

Worth a short staySeemingly recently refurbished and to a good standard, so a comfortable stay overnight. Room was fairly well equipped but not enormous and I would have felt closed in if I was there for more than 1 or 2 nights . To be fair it was the same space as you get in a reasonable Premier Inn but that means the corridor noise intrudes (thankfully not too badly for our night). Showers were a bit odd with the option of a large fixed overhead spray-head or a lower adjustable flexible hose mounted type. The result was that although you completely turned off the shower, enough water seeped into the fixed head for an occasional noisy dribbling. There was also an occasional loud gurgling, presumably from the waste water of another room passing through the system. Good staff and customer service.

Would ReturnGot as a last minute and really glad we did as it was a great hotel in a great location. Will stay there again if ever in Cardiff.

First night I found great trouble getting sleep due to very loud noise from nearby pub/nightclub and constant emptying of bottles outside into bottle banks. The following day the reception staff were very helpful in changing our room for our second night's stay. Our luggage was transferred and on the second night (a Saturday) their was no trouble with noise. The room in our safe the second night did not work, so I had to use the main hotel safe. Very comfortable beds, helpful staff, excellent city centre location. I would definitely use this hotel if visiting Cardiff in the future.

Smart hotelVery smart looking hotel, room very plush and felt good quality. Generally very pleasant stay, although not hugely cheap. Slightly cheekily they tried to charge me for breakfast as an additional charge when I hadn't had it, but other than that no worries. There is a car park on site but it is hard to find - down a side street you have to aim for the pedestrianised part of the town centre and there is an access road!

Great stay in CardiffWe had a twin room which was very spacious and clean. All fixtures and fittings seemed very new and in great condition. No complaints at all!

One Night Stay for Concert at Millenium StadiumBooked this hotel as within walking distance of Millenium Stadium. Hotel ok to find once we realised you had to ignore bus and taxi only sign on side road it was down. Hotel had recently had a refurbishment so everything was in good order. Staff were frindly and helpful and room service meal arrived within time promised and was ok though a bit pricy. Would definetely stay here again. All in all a good experience.

Fantastic location and lovely hotelMy only negative comment would be to say that it didn't say anywhere about the hotel being located on a perestrianised street which made trying to find it in the car quite frustrating. A guide to the nearest ncp car park would have been very useful; as would a map of how to get to the hotel car park which we gave up trying to find!

The Thistle Park Hotel is ideally placed in central Cardiff. The staff were very pleasant, the food great value for money (we had breakfast) & the hotel rooms were very modern & clean. A lovely place to stay.

Convenient for city centre location. Helpful staff. Excellent city centre location, but some noise from adjacent bars at night until 2.00am. Staff extremely helpful and pleasant. Breakfast good, room facilities fine. Some minor quibbles with the bathroom with some furniture ( e.g. toilet roll holder ) being fixed in poorly-thought-out and painful locations !! also the sliding wardrobe door fell off which might have been very unfortunate has we not been quick enougth to catch it. Bar prices painfully high ( but similar to other hotels in this type of location) but a very good selection of other eateries and bars within easy walking distance. Would stay again.

This is an ideal hotel for shopping or visiting the New Theatre in Cardiff. The room we were given was on the third floor was well equipped and very modern. We were a little disappointed that the luxurious bathroom only had a very good shower but no bath! If we had been staying longer than one night we would have requested a room with a bath. Also as were were staying on a Saturday night we could hear disco music being played in the distance though I think that the double glazing did keep the noise to a minimal level . There was also a very good choice of breakfast. All in all we had a pleasant stay.
