The hotel was great - rooms big, clean and comfortable. We had a deluxe riverview room so it was really nice to sit and watch the many activities on the busy Huangpu River. The hotel is a short stroll from the main tourist strip The Bund and also you can walk to Nanjing Road for shopping if you want otherwise it is only a quick taxi ride. I would certainly recommend this hotel - price was very good compared to other properties within this main tourist area.

Have stayed in this property 3 times now. Location to Bund, Nanjing Rd and other attractions is excellent. 10min stroll to Nanjing Rd. Rooms look a little tired but are clean, comfortable and well maintained. Only trouble has been the English ability of some of the staff. Great views down the river from the restaurant, and most rooms have good views over the city or river.

The hotel was too far away from the Bund area (20 mins walk much of it unlit at night), and for a person travelling alone, it was not easy to get around. The hotel internet access comprised one computer located in the lobby and was too expensive (2 yuan per minute which is much more expensive than most hotels in New York or Sydney). Most of the staff could not understand English and gave me the incorrect travel time to the airport which may have led to missing my flight. The hotel food was also quite poor, compared to the great local food in the rest of China. I would not recommend this hotel to western travellers.
