WonderfulAll of the people there went far beyond the call of duty to make our stay smooth. We arrived 90 minutes late on a Sunday night and the welcome was amazing and very calming. Add to that a request for breakfast at 6am whjich was gracuiously accepted and you begin to see why it is such an amazing place. We then eat on the Monday night and the food and the service were great. We will definitely be recommendign the Moody Goose to our friends.

Quiet and elegantWe had a great stay here and have already booked to go back! It is a beautiful setting and location, the welcome was warm and professional and the breakfast was the best we've had in a B and B. The poached fruit was, to coin a phrase, historic. The perfect place to stay.

A very happy evening at the Moody GooseA lovely hotel, the staff are extremly friendly and attentive without being to intrusive. The morning that we were due to arrive Jenny called to see if we would like a table for dinner which we thought was a very nice touch. When our car broke down on the A36 (flat alloy tire that wouldn't budge) and I called to say that we would be late our dinner reservation was moved and a great deal of sympathy given when we arrived. The food at the Moody Goose is delicious, both dinner and breakfast were superb. I had the sea bream which was extremely tasty and the haddock in the morning was perfect. My other half had the blade of beef which he said was melt in the mouth and a belly busting full English in the morning that he couldn't finish. We needed a new tire in the morning and again the staff were very helpful giving us a tire place and a garage very close by and directions to Longleat our desination for the day.A wonderful place to stay and we were sad that we could only stay 1 night.

The hotel itself is very charming but very olde worlde. The restaurant is lovely and the food magnificent but a bit pricey. My room was the Old School Romm which was comfy but very very creaky. What lets it down is the surrounding area - it is dreadful. The town is awful with very few facilities which is why we had nto eat at the hotel. Good for one night stay but no longer.

My stay at the Old Priory.Even before I arrived, I experienced the efficiency of the staff in the form of a phone call asking if I wanted to book a table at the restaurant (I did). Right from the start, I was made to feel welcome, and this feeling of being \"looked after\" continued throughout my stay. All in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay in hotel with a lot of character that boasted helpful staff and a restaurant with excellent food.

Lovely accommodation with welcoming staffA small quiet establishment, very picturesque - a million miles away from the \"hotel chains\" - with staff who take time to chat with you and seem pleased to have you reside. We stayed for two nights: from the welcoming open door as we walked from our car to the moment of leaving all members of staff were helpful, polite and cheerful. Our large four-poster room was comfortable, clean and well-equipped. Breakfasts were A1 excellent and whilst dinner was \"not cheap\" it could not be faulted for presentation, taste and service. An excellent location for seeing Bath, Wells, The Cheddar Gorge, etc. (though we found little to see and do in the town of Midsomer Norton). The hotel's immediate surroundings have no interest and if we were critical it would be that there were no \"glorious views\".

Excellent service - to be greeted at the door and given fruitcake and shortbread upon arrival is fantastic! The hotel is fascinatingly beautiful and engrossed in history. The creaky floorboards all add to the character of the place. My only little issue is that the bed wasn't very big and therefore we didn't get a great night's sleep. Could have done with a little extra room, but apart from that, everything was perfect! The food was incredible too!! Thank you for a truly lovely stay.
