We were very disappointed with our stay at The Mill. We had read the reviews, but were told by a friend that we would still like the hotel. We had to wait almost 2 hours for our room when we arrived, and even then, when we went to the adjoining rooms at 5PM, the maids were still cleaning the second room. They quickly mopped the floor, and left. I went to the small market at The Mill and bought my own cleaning supplies and continued to clean the rooms. There were small ants all over one bureau and the kitchen cupboards and walls. The floor behind the toilets and the beds appeared to have never been cleaned. All week, our floors were never cleaned, neither were the bathroom sinks or toilets. It appeared that the maid only made the beds and put fresh towels in our rooms. Had no washclothes all week. Fitness room had just a few pieces of equipment in it, and no air conditioning. The pool, a good sized one, had plastic cups throughout it ( along with other trash), although it appeared that they did try to vacuum it each morning. The staff was helpful and friendly. The beach is accessible on by walking across the street and through the Westin Hotel (in our bathing suits). Then, The Mill cuatomers are only allowed to use a small protion of the beach, with no cabanas available. Yes, there was an attendent to give us chairs, but unless you could find a tree to put the chairs under, you were out of luck for sun protection. We were reassured by the DePalm employee at the hotel that we could use any part of the beach, but that just was not correct. The locals used this beach on Sat.

The staff is exceptional with customer service. We did have a problem getting extra towels, but aside from that there were no problems at all. As in all of Aruba, the bar, restaurant and pool all close a little early for my taste, but that is something that happens all over the island. The value for the money is exceptional and the beach is a lot closer than Travelocity makes it seems. The beach is literraly right across the street. This was a great stay. You get a lot more at some of the more expensive high rise hotels, but I will guarantee that your service is no better and the value for the buck isn't even close. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

We visited Aruba for spring break, just three of us, myself and 2 teenage daughters. Mill Suites was a great value and staff very courteous. We had a suite with a kitchen but really only used the fridge. Food all over the island was expensive so be prepared for that. Mill suites has a beach shuttle that was convenient and took us whenever we wanted to go. They also had a beach attendant to get our chairs and a towel service. DePalm tours has a desk on site so it's easy to book excursions. We also set up our airport shuttle to and from the hotel with DePalm. The island seemed very safe, even while walking at night. Nothing like our experience in Negril last year.Horseback riding through Ponderosa Ranch was awesome! Make sure you book a ride to the natural bridge. Be warned though - it's not a ride for beginners. It was better to have a hotel just off the main strip - kind of an oasis for us. The pools at Mill Suites were well maintained and we never had to fight for chairs. The on-site restaurant was convenient and the food very good, just a bit expensive, but every place was expensive for food. The morning buffet was a great way to start the day and hearty enough to hold anyone over until dinner. Skip lunch and save the money!

I just came back from Aruba yesterday, 1/13/08 and I had such a lovely vacation. My family has a time share at this resort and they invited me and 2 others to join them. We all loved the hotel and all the staff. Our two bedroom suite was kept tidy everyday, any issue we had was resolved right away by hotel staff, and the pool and pool area were clean and inviting. I saw that someone commented on the lack of towels, me and my family did not encounter any problems. Every time we needed bathing towels, we just left the dirty ones on the floor and the room service attendants always replaced the dirty towels with new ones. If you need towels for the pool, you simply go down to the pool area and there is a little hut with an attendant in there ready and waiting to provide as many towels as necessary. The island is gorgeous and the people are great. Food is kinda expensive, so be prepared to spend money. You may want to bring your own snacks, drinks, and/or breakfast foods. The beach is literally across the street from the resort and there is an area specially designed for Mill Resort guests where you can reserve beach chairs. You don't have to, but it is a jice option.
