I was very dissapointed in this "hotel" - it was purely a B+B!. I'm used to "quaint" but a "superior double room" that turns out to be 2 single beds pushed together with two single quilts is not exactly superior!. It was cold in the night, no tv, a radio that buzzed when any other appliance was used, no milk for drinks and two slices of butteredmalt loaf, under cling film just plain wierd!. We were very rushed to leave as the couple were leaving to go ring the church bells at 10.15. I was presented with a bill while I ate my breakfast and when I explained I thought I'd paid with my credit card but as I couldn't pay by cheque (didn't have one on me) I was given directions to a cash point rather than being allowed to post a cheque when I got back home.Having worked a 12 hour day on the Saturday I was looking forward to a good nights sleep and some relaxing in a hotel and didn't realise B+B's were on the list (I realise having reread the details it was a B+B but even this review is headed "leave a HOTEL review!.)

About a mile down the road from where satnav systems using post code think it is, this is an old converted watermill B&B in a lovely area and a good base for exploring the countryside. So if you like a relaxing atmosphere and old charm this is a good choice, but not if you are after all the modern hotel amenities. The proprietor is helpful and friendly and my room had lots of books belonging to the family - including music theory which I spent my spare time studying! Laterooms.com did not inform me that credit/debit cards are not accepted, so be prepared. I would have appreciated soap in my room.
