The hotel is in an ideal location in the centre of Manchester. We arrived at Piccadilly by train and then used the free bus to drop us off outside the hotel. The hotel itself is very impressive with a big open main lobby area. The staff on check-in and throughout our stay were very friendly and helpful. We didn't use the restaurants/bar but the breakfast was very good. The only problem we encountered was some hairs found in the bed and one of the towels, presumably from the laundry process as everything else was spotless. We complained and it was dealt with immediately. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel in excellent location. Thoroughly enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend, I would come back if I was to visit in the future. Hotel is central for the shops, bars and restaurants but once inside is calm and surprisingly quiet. Hotel staff were very friendly and always helpful, they gave you your own space, which I particularly liked, but were on hand when needed.

Excellent accomodation and service for a Special OccassionWe have stayed here once before and thought it was wonderful then, but the rooms have been refurbished since and are now even better, a mix of contemporary and classic. We booked three double rooms, and were extremely pleased with them all. Exceptionally comfortable and relaxing. Service is second to none, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was relaxed and enjoyable, a great start to a great day. Beautiful decor in a beautiful hotel, it made our special stay a special experience at great value. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Breakfast BluesBreakfast at the Midland is served from 06.30/10.30,but woe betide if you get there after 10.00 as you will be searching High N Low for the Eggs and the Sausages!! And the waiting staff seem very eager to move your plates as soon as you have left the table as one poor couple found as they went to the buffet again for when they came back their whole table had been promptly cleared even though the womans bag was clearly visible on the floor that they hadnt gone far!! All in all Breakfast was great but please give us a chance to eat it at OUR leisure and not YOUR speed?

Eagles ConcertMy husband and I recently stayed at the Midland Hotel in order to attend the Eagles concert at the Manchester Arena. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the hotel and found the staff to be extremely helpful and courteous. We were particularly impressed with the standard of dress and uniform which, as guests, made us feel as if we were in a different, more elegant era! The entrance and reception is quite spectacular and the decor throughout the hotel is tasteful and sympathetic to the age of the hotel. We ate breakfast only - my husband enjoyed his cooked breakfast; I only ever eat cereal but the staff were pleasant and unobtrusive.I used the leisure facilities and again found everything to be pleasant, clean and enjoyable. The location of the hotel is excellent. The only drawback is the parking which adds an extra £20 to the cost but again the staff were helpful and pleasant and we simply handed over our keys to the concierge who arranged for parking and arranged for our car to be parked outside on our departure so the whole experience was smooth and painless! From what we could gather very few city centre hotels have car parking facilities so the extra £3.00 the hotel charged was well worth it to to us.We would certainly recommend the Midland and particularly as we returned to Manchester three days later for our son's graduation and chose to stay in a different, less expensive hotel and we regretted it as soon as we stepped into our cramped, dimly lit room. We are looking forward to returning there later this year as our son is based in Manchester and, if possible, we intend to stay for two nights to fully enjoy the hotel and to sample one of the restaurants.

The Midland, ManchesterBit slow in reception checking-in but that is my only grumble. Booked a standard double which was a big room & bathroom, nicely furnished, excellent shower. Concierge very efficient parking & retrieving car. Good location, very central. Would happily stay here again.

The Midland Hotel Manchester 10/07/09This is a stylish hotel in a central position of Manchester.A good base for business or leisure. The rooms are comfortable and clean.Breakfast was the best I have had in a hotel anywhere.Would not pay the usual full price though, would have to get a good deal through laterooms.comWe travelled by train, but parking near by can be expensive if you're driving.
