Excellent friendly service from the staff and a brilliant breakfast from a very welcoming cook. Have since found a B&B closer to the work site, hence the no return. Their normal rate of 25 to 35 for a room would have made the rating figures change.

To say the room was basic is an understatement. There were only three channels working on the TV (2,3,&4), the remote for the TV did not work at all. The room was shabby to say the least. The shared shower. Well! The cubicle door did not close properly, The shower head was so blocked up with limescale, that it was difficult for it to function at all. Wardrobe in the room - impossible to even open the doors. Breakfast was OK if you like cheap sausasges and the whole lot floating ingrease, with almost rancid margarine/spread for use on the cheapest bread available! £40.00 per night? What a rip off! I will never stay there again, nor recommend anyone else to!

Turned in to the carpark looked at the building and surrounding area and decided I would rather sleep in the car, didn,t make it inside, to be honest I should have known no pictures did cause me to wonder but I thought I would take a chance, never again.

The hotel is situated between the motorway and an estate. First thing you see when you get to it is a bunch of old and young drunken men. Had they not had my card details (and had i not been accompanied by my husband), I would have left! The bar staff who checked us in were friendly though and the upstairs area where the rooms are is okay.

On approaching the hotel we thought how very run down it looked. After driving into the car park, which was like a bit of waste land, our opinion of the outside of the hotel was confirmed. Before we got out of the car we could here very loud music from the bar. On getting to the entrance we had to manouver our way through less than a salubrious crowd of drinkers and smokers. When we tried to book in the music was so loud we had to shout at the barmaid to make ourselves heard. On checking she found that we were not booked in as you had not sent to them confirmation of our booking (thank God). When the owner/manager confirmed we could not stay there we were overjoyed and as a result spent the night in the Ibis hotel down the road. Why this place is on your accomodation list is beyond belief.

Hotel was not a hotel - the building appeared unloved, the car park was rutted and the area felt quite threatening. On arrival we were challenged as to who we were and why we wanted to enter the building by some of the pub drinkers who were standing outside - the music level inside was deafening. Our two rooms were downstairs and quite self-contained which was just as well since one of the doors did not lock at all. Teabags and sachets of coffee were thrown in a heap on a grubby shelf and one of the mugs was severely cracked. The rooms themselves were fairly clean and very basic. One reasonable size towel was supplied per person but no hand towel and no bathmat and nowhere to hang a towel in the bathroom. We were able to park the car right outside the window which was reassuring.

Positives: Easy access, walking distance to ferry, reasonably quiet, cheaper than most.Negatives: Broken window, poorly operating locks. Damp, dirty, smell of decay, shower drain backed up during use.

When I reached the hotal thay did not have a reservation but they gave me a better room than I had booked. The bed was very well used and needed a new mattress.

We were asked to pay for the room upfront when we checked in- something we have never been asked to do anywhere else. Our rooms looked acceptable. Both ensuites were dirty. The floors in them were dirty. There was dust & dirt on the skirting boards/ledges. My sister and her husband found a used cup, saucer, & spoon when they went to make tea.Breakfast the next day- on the table was a bowl of butter that had obviously been used before on several occaisions. There were different colours of butter and varying colours of toast crumbs through it. The tea tasted somewhat stale and you made it from an urn. The spoons were on the counter beside the urn in water that looked grey. They were the only teaspoons out.

We arrived to find the cleaner downstairs smoking in the bar and the two guys who cheched us in were smoking also. The over all appearence of the place was shabby and in disrepair. When we got into our room it was filthy. The light switches were covered in sticky filth and the floor and the bathroom was disgusting. There was crystalised urine all over the tiolet and someone elses direty tooth cleaning stuff and towels. The towels were grey instead of white and the bedding was stained. The socket was hanging off the wall and the sash windows were held open by a squashed toilet roll. The whole evening was spent afraid to come out of our room because of fighting outside and the noise of smashing windows. Breakfast was an event in itself. The person helping had a fag on and the pots and cuttlery were filthy. I guess I could go and I have pics if you want to see them. The place should not be open to the public and is a serious health and safety problem!

Our son shared the room with us had no sleep due to noisy traffic. There was no waste paper bin. Self service tea/coffee was not clean and teabags were stained and the curtains were not enough to block out light shining from outside our window making sleep uncomfortable and restless. Windows did not open as room was quite stuffy and hot. I would only recommend this to anyone for a night only.

Awful, member of staff was drunk on arrival, we didn't have a room reserved so he gave us someone else's room that hadn't turned up yet. room was filthy, sheets had hair and faeces on. He gave us a different room which was ok.

If you are Disabled and call ahead of your visit they will provide you with downstairs accomodation. Can be tricky to find but when having passed then turn first left, into a 20zone then follow road round and you will come to Grafton Street the Hotel is on the Corner. Very quiet, friendly atmosphere. Full breakfast best value for money for miles. Will definately return to them hopefully on a regualar basis. Loved the whole experience. In this day and age you couldn't wish for a nicer homely place to stay overnight or even longer if required.

This was literally bed and breakfast with no frills. On the plus side: handy location; free parking; great price for location; good full english breakfast. On the minus side: Bathroom and toilet could have used some Mr Muscle; alot of traffic noise from 6am onwards due to lack of double glazing; very basic room ie. 4 beds and nothing else!

To begin with the booking I had made over the internet had been cancelled. I had an upgraded stay in a twin room en-suite so nothing to worry about there. The Hotel is near a main road with so much noise, it is not really a hotel more like a pub bed/breakfast place. It was only a short walk to bus stops and into the city itself. The outside needs cleaning up but apart from the noise of other guests I enjoyed my stay.
