Front desk staff and operators were excellent. Very thorough in providing the best of service and great hospitality. Helpful in getting questions answered and issues resolved. The bell staff was also a plus. The restaurant staff, cleanliness and ambiance left much to be desired.

Although we live only about one mile from the Madison, my husband and i decided to do a romantic overnight last weekend. We met at the hotel, worked out in the fitness room, rested a little, had drinks in the lobby bar, then went to the Skye Terrace for more drinks, came back to the Palette bar and then dined in the restaurant. The waiter let us take our bottle of wine to the room after dinner. Food and service quite excellent. The bathroom fixtures were worn but otherwise the room was very nice; bed was great with good mattress and nice linens. Breakfast was delicious; we had a B&B package which proved to be a fairly good value. I would recommend it to out of towners as well as locals looking to spice up their lives!

I stayed here a total of 9 nights and it was great. I had problems with my air conditioning and i was asked to change floors which was totally fine as my room was up graded at no extra cost. I also had something very sentimental go missing from my room by mistake (a small soft toy) which had got caught up in the linen, for two days the entire hotel staff searched for my dear and made it their priority to find it, which they did and which i am extremly greatful for. The in room dining is great, as is the restaurant down stairs. This is a great hotel with excellent service, i would certainly stay here again for both business and pleasure.

You get what you pay for - the first room I had was right outside a street light, with no darkening curtains. The second overlooked the buidling HVAC system and an alley. Neither room had amenities listed on the hotel's website - I didn't even get washcloths the last 2 days!

Our stay was great!, the guy whose playing the piano every night was great. Staff make us feel important when we check in, check in was easy. Son loved the bed and wanted to come back again next summer! Book at least 8 mos. in advance with a great price less than 200 a night!!!!! can't beat that. There are a lot of good restaurant in the vicinity.

Friendly attentive staff, safe location, spacious rooms, our elders automatically received a room with walk-in shower, kid friendly as well. An overall satisfactory experience, we would definitely stay there again at this price.

Very clean modern style hotel. The best part of this hotel is the staff! We were treated like royalty. Good location also.

The thing we enjoyed most about this hotel was its convenient location in downtown Washington D.C., across the street from The Washington Post and a few blocks from the White House. It was the perfect home base for sight-seeing. The hotel advertises that it was recently remodeled and while the lobby was really nice, our room was a little outdated and small. The staff was friendly and helpful, however we made two calls to have an item delivered to our room and it never arrived.

The Madison was lovely, very nice staff, clean, comfortable rooms. Easy commute to all attractions, nice coffee shop across the street. I would highly recommend it to families as well as business travelers.

Overall, it was an okay experience. My room was a bit dated from the looks of the furniture although it was clean. Certain doormen (2) were very friendly and accommodating but I can't speak for all since a few were a bit snobby especially one in particular who unloaded my luggage from my trunk and pushed it (approx 20 ft) from the front entrance to the registration desk, I didn't have any change on me so I gave him $4 since he stood there impatiently waiting for me to check in. After that, he never really paid any attention to me every time I went in/out of the building. Not really sure what the rules of tipping are but I know that's not really good customer service. On the other coin, there was one who actually asked me what attractions I went to see each day and even gave me some local tips. Concierge service was quite snobby also, maybe because I look young thus does not feel like it's necessary to be accommodating. Check in/out was easy and all charges were documented correctly. Pricey parking compared to another hotel I stayed at nearby previously and no complimentary internet. I think it got a good rating because of its name and location otherwise nothing extraordinary to me.

My itinerary was incorrect, so the hotel thought I was checking out a day early. Therefore, I did not receive the daily maid service as I was supposed to. I had to call them to bring clean linens and towels. The single bed room I stayed in was tucked away in a corner like a closet. The walls are very thin and I could hear the neighbors children all day. I have stayed here before in a two bedroom and it was much better.
