Newcastle what a fun city!Stayed for two nights at the Lynnwood. Parking right out front which was very handy (and free!) Was told I was given an upgrade because of some work being done (my new room had an on-suite - which was very compact). I was lead up three flights of stairs to the top floor. My room had two seperate single beds in it with a skylight. Very compact room. I'm not a fan of attic rooms with sloping ceilings as they can feel quite claustrophobic. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfy. No shampoo so take your own (I didn't!). On a minor point; theTV remote batteries kept falling out as the plastic on the back was missing and every time the front door bell rang it sounded like the bell was right outside my room even though I was at the back of the hotel - very strange! There are two lounges; one with a TV with free tea & coffee which was a nice touch. Good breakfast. It isn't in the best of areas but then I knew that having read other people's reviews. I took the bus into the city centre and that took about 10-15 min. So in summary, clean, good price, good breakfast and a bit of a bus ride into town. Newcastle is a great city with amazing nightlife and I'll be back!

Modern B&B close to Newcastle city centre - area not so greatModern B&B with plenty of guest facilities such as two lounge rooms. Clean, neat & tidy establishment with friendly, helpful and polite staff. Room was also reasonable quality but was an issue with the shower running hot and cold. Fenced off car parking available out the front. The main let down with this accommodation was the low quality area that it is situated in. Probably not a concern for those not wanting to walk in to Newcastle City Centre.

Great little hotel for a group weekend awayI was staying at the Lynwood with a group of friends for the weekend. The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. For £30 a night I wasn't expecting much but it I can't fault it in any way. It's only 5 mins from the city centre in a taxi, and I would recommend if to groups of people just looking for somewhere to crash while they take in all Newcastle has to offer.

A cheap and cheerful guest. My experience wasn't great though, I was in the "hot room". They didn't seem able to turn the heating down and my window opened out onto the area where workers next door liked to smoke. Also my room was next to the very noisy door leading to the main exit. It may be a lovely place to stay if you are in a different room but my experience was hot and noisy!

comfortable room with everything I needed for my weekend break. Friendly, helpful staff and great service. Good location, not too far to walk into the city centre and regular busses available too. Great value for money, I would definitely go back and would be more than happy to recommend to friends.

Only one snag with the booking - whch I think is a fault of the website rather than the hotel itself. The map showing the location of the hotel is wrong, it shows that the hotel is right in the centre of town, on a diferent road to what it is actually on!! The hotel is in fact approximately 10-15 minutes walk from the city centre ( I used my Newcastle A-Z rather than the map shown here). The hotel was very good value for the price I paid - friends of mine were staying in a hotel next to the railway station, paying about 50 pounds more than I did, and they didn't get breakfast thrown in!Would certainly use this hotel again the next time I visit Newcastle, the hoteliers were very friendly and polite.

Good budget hotel. Only downside was breakfast wasn't until 8am, and we had to be off fairly early so missed breakfast.
