Great location - 20 minutes to airport, Sea World, Zoo. Friendly staff across the board. Not a ton of children around - which was not a bad thing - and everyone was very friendly to our 3 year old. Best 80 minute massage and lovely pedicure. Very clean work out facility - fully stocked with water, towels. Zero complaints other than the fact that the pool could be 5-10 degrees warmer. Golfing doesn't get any closer - played the North and South courses and drove 20 minutes to Encinitas to play a round. Del Mar beach and Torrey Pines reserve/beach are a very short drive away and were not very crowded.

A beautiful facility with very helpful staff. Food and service at The Grill was excellent and well-priced. Two problems. I could have sworn that the package detail included free parking -- no, no, no. It was $22 per night to self park. I thought that - for the price of the room - the self-parking should have been much, much less (if not free). Second problem - the "business area" that contained a PC, printer, and phone (rooms have free internet access, but no printers), was nothing more than a small, converted closet with a single dim ceiling light. We'd definitely stay there again if someone else paid the bill, but the extravagence (for us) was just a one-time event.

We had no idea what to expect when we booked our trip to getaway for a fun spa getaway. Incredible staff, beautiful surroundings, fabulous spa and great food. Whenever you book a more expensive hotel, it's sometimes with trepidation. But not at this place! We felt like we were walking into someones beautiful home. If you are a Craftsman archictecture fan - you will love this place. The rooms are beautiful and cozy. I usually don't sleep well in hotels - but I slept so well here - that I asked what type of beds they used. The front desk was able to give me all the info so I could order one for my house! We aren't golfers - but after seeing the view - we wish we were! Beautiful landscaping and the golf course overlooks the ocean. We had spa treatments 2 different days and were absolutely spoiled! (I sugget the salt glow withthe vichy shower - pure heaven!) I enthusiastically recommend this hotel to anyone!! Well worth the money! Enjoy!

The Torrey Pines Lodge was very relaxing, extremely clean, and the hotel staff was the best. It felt like we were at a upscale secluded resort, very quiet and peaceful. But yet only minutes from downtown San Diego. The hotel is also a craftmanship masterpeice.

Lodge at Torrey Pines is in the most idealic locations. It is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. After a long days work and a long drive I was looking forward to the serenity that was promised in the advertisments. When I arrived, I was pleasantly greeted and all seem to go well. After a long drive I really had to use the restroom and imagine my horror when I noticed feces on the toilet seat. I phoned the front desk immediately and a man came up with a plunger and no santizing equipment. I explained I didn't need the plunger I needed a rag and santizing equipment. I called the front desk again and I finally got housekeeping to arrive. While I was on the phone I noticed how much crusty, yes crusty, filth was on the ear piece of the phone receiver. Next, when I ordered a movie, the system froze, but still managed to charge me. I never got to see a movie (the morning clerk removed the charges after U explained my situation. I was really happy I was only staying one night for business. A side from the unsanitary conditions and the entertainment inconvenience; I must admit that their gym has up to date equipment and it very sanitary, there is an employee that does a wonderful job at keeping the facility clean. The food is remarkable and the room service arrives rapidly. The views are amazing! The ambience of the entire hotel has the potential for a relaxing amazing getaway.

Once we arrived at the Lodge we did not want to go anywhere else! The only drawback is you are not right on the ocean but you hardly miss it with all the hotel amenities. My husband loved the golf course and I enjoyed the pool and spa. The only thing I would say is take a full tour of the hotel the first day as many things like the spa and the Grill are tucked away and you might miss them. Pricey but great experience...we would stay here again for that luxury experience.

Some aspects were very good: room decor with beautiful Tiffany lamps, private balcony and a larger than average-sized room. The fitness center was excellent. We were very disappointed with the uncomfortable beds in our room--they seemed old and worn-out and we both had back problems after our stay. The staff was helpful but seemed unsure of how to handle things most of the time. The A. R. Valentien restaurant was excellent for breakfast but very disappointing for dinner--we rarely saw our waiter after the food was delivered; he never checked with us to see if everything was satisfactory, which at those prices was unbelievable. I doubt that we would stay at this hotel again.

This wonderful hotel has everything you would expect and more. The service was impeccable from start to finish. I really felt like the staff got to know our family over the 4 days we were there. From offering directions to Sea World and sending us off with cool bottled water in tow, to serving my 5 year old her brownie dessert early in AR Valentine restuarant so my husband and I could enjoy our coffee at our leisure, it was a pleasure to be there. While we did not play golf, we did take advantage of the conceirge's recommendation for the nature walks within the Torrey Pines Reserve. It was a beautiful way to spend the morning exploring. Finally, the spa is just fabulous. Being a spa lover, I have to say the manicure and pedicure were they best I have had anywhere so far. Make The Lodge a must for your next trip to San Diego and surrounding areas.

The Lodge at Torrey Pines is a beautiful property in a beautiful location. The service was excellent and everything was very well maintained. The decor is Craftsman style and is very true to that style. We enjoyed the stay very much.

I was here last week for both business and pleasure and found the lodge to be such a lovely hotel. Its meeting space was intmate and professional, and the restaurants were excellent. The rooms are huge, 500 sq ft or so for the standard that my family of 4 was in and believe it or not, we were all fine being in the same room for 5 nights due to its generous size. I am still dreaming about the amazing pillows!

What an amazing property. I loved the views, the big deck and all the fireplaces! It was just a great place to get away. The spa was spectacular and the service amazing. An absolutely wonderful resort!

The Lodge at Torrey Pines is a beautiful property. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. What sets the Lodge apart is its fantastic service - from the Bellman to the front desk to the housekeepers - they were always working to make my stay as wonderful as possible. The atmosphere and decor is fabulous and one thing that I noticed was an extremely fresh aroma thruoought the entire property. Nothing strong, just a freshness that that further increased the comfort of the property. In all, I will definitely heading back to San Diego and the Lodge at Torrey Pines is on the top of my list. Thank you to everyone at the property that made my stay so memorable.

You'd have to be pretty cranky not to like this place. Book it and enjoy! As far as things to do, definately find time to hike down to the Torrey Pines trails. It's more than worth it!

We took a risk with this hotel because we were travelling with our 2-year old, and I did not find any reviews on-line indicating whether it was toddler-friendly. The hotel is beautiful - warm arts and crafts architecture and design, vista views of the golf course and the ocean in the distance, relaxing piney smell throughout the property. We were all three very comfortable in our room. The staff was very friendly and did an excellent job with turndown service, room service, and bringing us buckets of ice. The only downside to our stay was dining out. There are two restaurants on-site. We avoided the more formal option with our toddler, and opted for the Grill. It was difficult to find in its location near the putting green. This restaurant is very clearly geared towards golfers, and we found service to be subpar compared to the hotel. We did not need reservations the first evening, but were told the second evening when we requested a booth (for our 2-year old's sake), that the booths were all reserved. We retreated to the concierge for a recommendation, and she sent us 18 miles away to a very dark bar & grill adverstising ladies night. There are not many restaurants close by to choose from, so we would have trekked next door to see what the Hilton had to offer if we had stayed another night. Overall, a fabulous hotel, probably okay for older kids, not geared for dining comfortably with little ones.
