Reception very helpful - arrived late so had a bar meal and agin this was well presented in a friendly manner. Only thing that lets the hotel down is the breakfast - bit like a school experience. Dowdy room, dowdy staff and dowdy food

We have stayed at the Liner on three occasions. Two as a couple and one with our adult son. The bedrooms facing the street are quieter than the station side (we heard early morning trains coming in) but we were very impressed with every aspect of the hotel. We would certainly recommend it and will be back again.

Hotel clean and tidy. Restaurant meal a little expensive. Location best for shoppers as near to all shopping areas. We thought it was a little closer to the docks area then it was and large groups/parties were there. Breakfast very good. TV in room not staterlite. Out look either railway station or side street.

Hungry Bryan Adams FansMy only complaint with this hotel was the timings of serving food. The purpose of my stay was to watch Bryan Adams at the Empire, the hotel was in a great location for this, when the concert finished we walked back to the hotel, we were told at the reception that we could get food from the Castaway bar until 11 as it was 10:45 we went straight in and they told us they had stopped serving so we rushed to our room and tried to order room service at 10:50 they told us they had stopped serving hot food, the menu says available till 11. We had to go out for something warm to eat. In the morning we got up for breakfast which was served from 7:30 we were there right on time but they were not ready for us, once again we returned to our room we rang the reception to ask what time we could have breakfast they told us to give them till 8:10. So apart from the bad timings for serving food the hotel itself was great and the breakfast was great when we could finally eat it!

Great hotel in a wonderful position the only thing against it was we were located in the middle room to a hen party who were very very noisy from early evening til they got back at 4 in the morning (do these young people never sleep).

You have to get past the front door to appreciate this hotel. Literally a stone's throw from the station but the immediate area needs work. However the interior is 'decked' out as a liner and although this sounds 'naff' it really works well. Stairwells are similar to ocean liners and lots of portholes, promenade's in meeting rooms and lots of memorabilia carry on the theme. It is all tastefully executed and works really well. The standard rooms are well appointed and meeting rooms well decorated, light and airy. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. I only ate breakfast there but that was fine. I'd definitely use this hotel again. Only 12 minute walk to the Beetles quarter makes it good for sightseeing too.

bad attitudesNot a good start i'm afraid, the young male receptionist had a disgusting/arrogant attitude, fiddling on a computer and refusing eye contact or communication when we were stood in reception directly in front of him(this was out of step with the other staff at reception who were great)With a glint in his eye and a smirk on his face he told us we could not check in until 1400...it was 1350 and there were no rooms ready. The hotel is nice, good value, great location, nice room ,nice food and Liverpool fascinating. Would go again.Must mention the chef though, very aggressive unhappy man, barking at customers for wanting an egg! So all in all a good stay but it is such a shame when two people can potentially destroy the good work of all the other excellent staff.

excellent value hotel, highly reccomended. We only stayed for 1 night, the hotel room was spotlessly clean, the bed nice and comfy, we ate in the hotels restaurant, had the early diner offer, which was great value, the staff were polite and helpful, would definately stay there again. would reccomend to others.

Breakfast FightingStay at The Liner was very good except for breakfast Food in itself was good and hot, but downside was that there was ablock booking at hotel, who took over the breakfast area helping themselves to tables and plates reserved for general guests. that and the fact that they queued up, for both hot and cold food at the same time, walking off with several full plates each. This is probably more due to the actual party booking, but the htelshould have 'policed' the situation better.

sunny weekendThe Liner is an excellent hotel for a city break, its location is perfect and the hotel its self iv very clean only issue was the double bed was actually twin beds zipped together which was a wee bit uncomfortable but overall my partner and i had a very enjoyable stay.

Good hotel, decent location, great valuePerfect for a city break, rooms are spotless and in good condition. Good value, would use it again and would recommend to friends. Location is a little at the extreme of the ctiy centre area, but that means it is quiet at noght. Overall a good place. It is hysterically funny the way the unfortunate (but very friendly) staff are obliged to refer you to your deck (floor) and cabin (room) number, it must make them blush :)

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would certainly book it again. Room was clean and comfortable. It was very near Lime St station and very central but not noisy. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. The little bar on the street was an added bonus.Only niggle was that the beds had a couple of springs sticking up but that didn't stop us from getting a good nights sleep.
