Nice room, but you can tell that they've cut back on some services due to the economy. No morning paper delivered to your room, and the concierge only available one day a week. A decent restaurant in the lobby, and the free limo service was nice. Free internet, but the PC in the lobby had trouble printing my boarding pass (it had a virus).

Proximty to our planned activities. Plumbing fixtures need to be updated. While the room was small it was well decorated and fit our needs for the evening. I would most definitely stay there again.

We attended an opera in the Theater District this past weekend and stayed at the Hotel Lancaster. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very helpful and responsive. The room was quite large and comfortable. Some of the furnishings could use updating, and I understand that the hotel is to be renovated in the near future, but we had no complaints. The restaurant was very good as was the service. The location proximity to the theater district was perfect. Parking is very expensive, but lots of other parking is available at a decent price in the area.

Very quiet upscale hotel. Excellent food in the restaurant\bar. Friendly staff. Water stain on marble around basin in bath, prints askew in framed artwork. Definitely would stay again, but would ask for bath without stained marble. Great location in downtown Houston, walking distance to several cultural venues, as well as the Bayou Place entertainment complex and restaurants with varied cuisine offerings.

It was an excellent experience. Lovely, spacious room, great service and excellent rom service (reasonably priced for quality). Walking distance and convenience to theatres---excelllent, We can't wait to go back. Web site does NOT overglorify hotel. New guests are pleasantly surprised as in our case. We have stayed in many hotels in many countries. Lancaster should make the Valencia Group proud.

I decided on this Houston Hotel for my two year anniversary and I could not have been more impressed and satisfied. Everyone was helpful and polite. Only one issue with our coffee sugars taking a long time to arrive but other than that I could not have asked for more. Great value and walking distance from every major downtown destination. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to someone.

The Lancaster Hotel had a great location and exterior charm but my room was cramped with an inconvenient layout. The bed's footboard had large posts that I kept bumping into as I squeezed between bed and desk. The closet was located inside the bathroom, and I had to close the bathroom door to fully open the closet door. The bathroom did have a long sink counter, shelving beneath the mirror for toiletries and a separate bath area. The room also had a small luggage rack that just fit between the windows. On a positive note, there were electrical outlets near the bed and in the base of the desk lamp, the wireless internet signal was strong and there was a good mix of cable channels to choose from. The plush bathrobes were another plus.

The Lancaster hotel has all the great features of a beautiful bed and breakfast, with the amenities of a first-class hotel. The rooms are truly beautiful--antique furniture, bright colors, felt like staying in a nice private home. The very international staff was the best part--friendly, funny, always going the extra mile without being asked. Plus the free towncar trips to in-town Houston desinations was great for us I will stay there every time I go to Houston for business or pleasure. Thanks to all of the Lancaster staff for such a wonderful stay.

Though my trip was business-focused, my stay at the Lancaster was the next best thing to home! Every detail was attended to from the fresh linens, the friendly wait staff and the delicious breakfast. The hotel is charming, well appointed and close to the businesses and places of interest I needed to visit. I would certainly come back!

My stay at the Lancaster was most pleasant and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to stay in downtown Houston. The restaurant was very nice with ecellent breakfast choices. The hotel limo was exceptional with gratis rides to airport and downtown locations. The limo service was a real money saver as well as a real convient way to get about. Rooms were very comfortable with a great bath.

My husband and I love to attend theatre productions at least several times a year and this particular weekend i decided to try out The Lancaster as a special treat. We were thrilled with the hotel's location in proximity to the theatre!! The property is beautiful, quaint, and small enough to guarantee very personal attention. We were extremely impressed with every staff person we came in contact with and service was of excellent quality, and too quick for belief. For example, we called for ice and it was delivered to our door within 5 minutes, with a smile. We enjoyed a fantastic in-room breakfast but look forward to eating in the lovely hotel restaurant on our next visit, as well. We utilized the hotel's complimentary Town Car service for door-to-door transport to the theatre and the young man who drove us was, like all of the staff, efficient, poised, and cheerful. We will surely stay at The Lancaster again soon. it takes a lot to impress us- our standards are very high, and The Lancaster not only met, but exceeded these standards!!!!

The Lancaster was excellent. Everything was beyond our expectations as far as the room setting and the whole hotel. The best part about the hotel besides its superb location for the plays was the friendly and helpful staff. The staff was ready to do whatever was needed to make our honeymoon the best and they did.
