Kala Samui overlooks the Gulf of Siam. It is situated on a cliff and very near a natural heritage site, the Angthong National Marine Park. This area is characterized by natural beauty and wildlife. There are waterfalls and beaches to be explored and excellent views of the island. Kala Samui is roughly 20 minutes from the island's airport. The hotel provides shuttles to Lamai Beach and Chaweng Beach daily.

The design considerations of Kala Samui are carried on in the rooms, with antique furnishings and traditional Thai design. There are DVD players, satellite television, hardwood floors and ocean views in the room. Minibars and refrigerators are included as is a coffee and tea maker and complimentary fruit.

There are bars and a restaurant onsite at Kala Samui.
