Awesome Location! Room 301 had a great view! We did not like the first room we were in so we asked to be moved to a different room, 301 which was great. We got to look at the new rooms with option to upgrade but chose not to because it was right next to the construction. The bathrooms in there were amazing though. We liked the old rooms just as well though. The views were more important to us. The Great Room has amazing service and amazing food! The Bayside Lunches were ok. Breakfast buffet was very good. Loved the bagels and pancakes. If you happen to try the fries at lunch makes sure you try the banana ketchup and west indies hot sauce. Both are great! I also recommend going all inclusive. Best deal for the money and you don't have to have the worry about how much the bill will be. We def ate and drank our monies worth.

Just got back from 7 night trip to Jalousie. Warning to anyone who wants to go for a romantic vavation - lots and lots of kids there - no kids swimming pool - can get a little noisy - I booked an ocean view villa - ocean vew just about okay - lots of trees around the villas hide a perfect view - also fair warning that most villas are in fact duplexes - you have your own plunge pool but the terrace around it faces the door (which is locked and has privacy glass)of your neighbors - Whilst outside at your villa your neighbors can hear everything, and their plunge pool is only steps away. we had a family with kids staying next door and in the early morning they would play in the pool, so not much privacy or late night swimming or hanging around your deck, unless you want to disturb your neighbors. Staff was excellent, food excellent, bought the all inclusive package, no night entertainment, was mostly in bed by 10 pm. Some snorkeling on site, canoes, very little other water sports there. Cannot use pool after 6 pm and beaches are not lit at night. Shuttle service works well. Lots of hills so be ready to climb up and down. Often walked from villa to beach and restaurants but it takes 10 - 15 min. Went in July so waether was very hot. I would go back, but i would make sure i had a single villa, which are a few there and i wouldn't go whilst children are on vacation. Location is best on island, but not highly romantic. Once at jalousie, you have to take taxi in to neighboring souferie, but dont expect a lot of shops or restaurants.

The location is amazing. Landscaping, beach, all add to the natural beauty. The room was nice overall with privacy and a incredible view. Paddle fan had a paddle broken off which distracted from the nice room with vaulted ceiling. Vanity area with very poor mirror and lighting could have been nice if useable. Shower head was loose, somewhat clogged giving a poor shower. The drain barely worked leaving you standing in water and the shower curtain was too short resulting in water on the floor. Private plunge pool was green and cloudly, unuseable until Monday when maintainence fixed the pump and light. Unlike other reviews, we thought the food was really good but hard to enjoy at the prices. Exploring the local area is discouraged, for example hiking tail maps are not available. Kayaking to Coral Gardens for more snorkeling was discouraged. They want you to pay a snorkleling boat to take you where they want to go. The staff does a great job with the complimentary activites, just be prepared to pay significantly for offsite transportation and/or excursions.

We just returned from this incredible resort 100% satisfied. I must admit I had some apprehension after reading some of the negative reviews. I?m guessing the people who were so negative about Jalousie in past reviews are likely chronic complainers and frequently find fault in everything. If you are on a tight budget or have a problem splurging, I don?t recommend Jalousie. But if you are looking for a truly memorable and relaxing first class vacation, Jalousie is perfect. We visited the second week of June when the weather was perfect and occupancy was light. I highly recommend booking this property in the off season. No crowds, great service, no waiting and great deals. My wife and I are experienced world travelers from Florida and in our fifties. We were looking for a nine night escape, minus our teens. This was by far the most romantic and relaxing vacation we have taken in our 21 years of marriage. Other Guests: A mix of Britts, Canadians and Americans. Since our visit was in June, there were many honeymooners on the property and few children to our relief. The average age for non-honeymoon couples seemed to be in the 40?s and 50?s. The Villa: Older but very clean with an incredible view of the Pitons and the ocean. Air, plumbing, lighting and television all worked well. The splash pool was clean despite earlier negative reviews on this topic and the privacy was wonderful. We asked for soft pillows and slept like babies every night. No complaints on the accommodation. If you are looking for sparking new contemporary rooms, then the villas might not be your thing, but if you are happy with a clean, quaint, romantic abode, the villas of Jalousie should fit your desires perfectly. The AC always kept our room cool, we never experienced insects and the view was spectacular. The Jalousie Plantation sits between the two Pitons of St. Lucia and provids a very quite and intimate setting surrounded by incredible beauty. Beware of menu prices a hot dog was 14 and a luch buffet was 45 per person. Going into town to buy food for breakfast and luch for a week will cost you about 65, or go with the All Inclusive and get the sticker shock out of the way. Rooms were clean with great views and the staff was fantastic. "

We were ""bumped"" from our honeymoon plans (hurricane problems)to this lovely spot. A welcomed accident. A six foot (stunning) woman draped in white greeted us at the door to the plantation room restaurant with ""what would you love?"". Our ten days here will be hard to top. Go there and enjoy!

We went for our honeymoon and found this hotel to be very relaxing and enjoyable. The beach is definately the highlight of this resort. There is not much choice in entertainment and the show at Cafe Bang was ridiculous. The room was clean and we enjoyed using our outdoor patio but hardly used our plunge pool. The food was especially good at The Pier and the Plantation Room. We usually had lunch on the beach and often ordered room service for breakfast Next time around we'll probably invest in the all-inclusive meal plan. Dinner alone was an average of 100 a night.

"Reading on the beach in summer is traditional. But on this beach the view is so fantastic that you have to put your book down and just stare. The Petit Piton rises directly out of the water to 2400 feet straight up. Great snorkeling off the beach. Loads of great fish. The resort setting is quite vertical; you use the resort transport to get around. Main restaurant is exquisite- not much more than the average in-town price, well worth it."
