Left Disappointed with the Inn Lodge after many visits this year, one visit has ruined it I always go to the Inn Lodge in portsmouth as always found it to a high standard. This visit was very dissappointing, firstly they only had us booked in for 1 night rather than 2, but my booking confirmation clearly stated 2 nights, so they had to sort that out, finally it was and all was ok.Then we went to our room, and I just wanted to go home it was run down old wall paper, dirty carpet, dust everywhere from the desk to the kettle and cups not up to the high standard I have had there before. I went downstairs to complain but there wasn't and free rooms to change to. Had to put up with the room for 2 nights wasn't the best nights there. on the 1st night we phoned reception to get some extra pillows, they said they'd bring them up but no one showed up, instead had to go down and get them myself. The 2nd night after a long day out we decided to have an early night (11pm) but our room backed onto a wedding party, now I don't mind at all but it would of been nice to of been told there will be a party and the music will be going on until the early hours, but no one infomred us. This experience has put me off the Inn Lodge

A comfortable, clean and suitable hotel for short breaks. The staff were friendly and courteous and the food at the hungry horse pub was excellent value.

You get what you pay forThe staff are very helpful, friendly, and polite, but the night my group stayed there were two simultaneous weddings at the hotel. This makes it very noisey and hectic, staff were trying their best, but were over-worked. Don't expect any sleep before 1am if such events are being held, due to loud drunken domestic arguements in rooms/corridors/car park, doors slamming etc. The woodlice run amok in some of the rooms due to damp. One of my group was given a key into a room only to find an old lady undressing, he'd been given the wrong room key. My room didn't have an old lady in, but the door wouldn't open and took about half an hour to get fixed. All that said, would I stay again ? In certain circumstances yes - it's location is great for the ferry terminal, and it's cheap enough that I can perhaps overlook the shortcomings. The hotel isn't great but the nice attitude of the staff makes up for this, they do try their best to help.

Overall ok. Lovely room which was bigger than expected. TV reception was jumpy which made watching it a pain. Light bulbs were missing from lamps and staff were unable to access replacements. The room we stayed in was next to a fire door in the corridor which every time it was opened it sounded like someone was trying to get into the room; so our sleep was restless. Room service would be a benefit as food was not available after about 10:00. We stayed for a cooked breakfast but it arrived cold and with what looked like chest hair in it. It was replaced but was not much hotter. Staff arguing about moving large machine through breakfast area could have been better handled.

A good place to stay in PortsmouthThe accommodation is clean and tidy. No frills and hence very good value compaired with other hotels in the area. Very easy to find from the M27 and plenty of free parking. Bar sells various well known ales at reasonable prices. Very frendly staff.

Good week-endVery friendly helpful staff. Very busy time for staff with several functions in the hotel but the staff were still as helpful as though we were the only guest. The standard of cleanliness all through the hotel was excellent and their service was very good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone I knew who wanted to visit the area.

A night at the Innlodge PortsmouthAccomodation was functional and Ok value for money wise. Disapointed at not having a Internet Computer. The Hotel did have WIFI but not all guests can be bothered to cart their Laptops Around. Phone in my room was not working and staff did not seem botheredAll in all a reasonable hotel but not value for money I felt, especially as the Price I was quoted through laterooms.com was more than the advertised rate at the hotel, (so much for using laterooms !!

Overnight stayThe quality opf the accomodation was very good. However, more staff were needed in the bar/restaurant. The food was very good. However, waitresses should learn that when you open a bottle of wine you do not leave the metal cover sticking up from where the cork has been removed.

We have stayed in a number of hotels and B & Bs in Portsmouth lately and this was by far the best. We had a superior room for £65 ( no breakfast ) but it was worth it. The room was clean and very comfortable.

DISGUSTING!I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel and did not wash once in the bathroom. Firstly, there was a foul smell (mould and general dirtieness). The bathroom had clearly not been given a good clean in a LONG time. The toilet brush was oozing some kind of gooey liquid, dirt on the bath panel, bath taps were foul, dirty grout, PUBIC HAIRS on the tiles, red bacteria stained shower curtain. Yuck Yuck Yuck - I cannot stress how disgusting this bathroom was. When I complained I was told they were fully booked and I couldn't be moved, but was assured they'd get housekeeping to "give it a good clean" - they changed the shower curtain (big deal). My only saving grace was my parents staying in another hotel down the road, so de-camped there to get a shower every day. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Fantastic hotel for the priceWe paid £30 for the night and were really impressed with the room we got. We got to the hotel late in the evening and left early the next morning and both the service & room were great. Reception were very helpful and the shower was very hot and powerful which was fantastic as cheap rooms usually have cheap bathrooms! We ate in the adjoining pub which was very good value for money and the service there was also very good and quick.

Where was breakfastOn arrival we were told that the Hungry Horse bar was open for food and drink. We were not told that their was also a lounge serving much better food in the Hotel. As requested we reserved a take away breakfast for morning before 10pm, we asked for a full packed breakfast and cold drink. When we went to collect this, not only was it not ready but when the receptionist finally came back with it, it was two tinfoil parcels each containing a chocolate pastry and an apple which had seen better days. We were told they had no cupholders therefore we could not have a drink. When we asked the receptionist if she would like this for breakfast she replied no, no alternative was offered. The room was adequate for 1 night but had only been set up for 1person with 1 towel, 1 beaker etc.We were very dissatisfied and will be writting to complain.

Dirty and smellyThe reception carpet was taped up - there was a pervasive smell of \"old peoples' homes\" and the floor was broken under the carpet infront of the bathroom - the shower head sprayed everywhere. The curry was badly described and not what it seemed. I complained to reception but to a blank response.Never again!

Very helpful staff but decor a little \"tired\"The website says that many rooms have been refurbished and our was obviously one still to be done. It was clean and tidy but curling wall paper and a cracked TV casing were not very attractive.Sink plug too stiff to use and wardrobe hinge adrift but we mentioned these to staff at reception who put them on to the maintainance list. Our room was in a quiet location as we had requested which meant that we slept well on the comfy bed between crisp clean sheets Zzzzzzz.
