Awesome complimentaryfull breakfast! Good 1/2 mile walk to the main part of town. Wonderful staff that really knows their little town and surrounding areas, especially their recommendations for dining and sight-seeing; GREAT breakfast; clean, orderly and attractive common areas. Our room was very small though and the walls are thin between rooms. Otherwise, it was a very nice stay for two nights.

The front room decor was beautiful and inviting. The lady who checked us in at night was rude and unhelpful. The Harbour Cottage Inn in Southwest Harbor, ME is a two-minute walk from the water and less than half hour drive from Acadia National Park. The front lobby is beautifully decorated. Filled with books and knick-knacks, it was an inviting place where patrons sat and talked and got to know each other. Our room was comfortably sized, though not large. We had to unplug some lamps in order to recharge our camera batteries and laptop. The sauna in our private bathroom’s shower didn't work. The breakfast of eggs with lump crab, sausage and muffins was wonderful. Fruit and cereal was on hand for the healthier diner. My only complaint is the lady who checked us in that night. She argued with us and then suggested a restaurant that she knew how to get to. She gave us very poor, unclear directions that had us driving around hungry in an unlighted section of a town we had never been to before. We only ended up finding the place by accident.
