Do not use this hotel!shower was not working, breakfast was just about edible!I know it is a budget hotel but it was still unsatisfactory!

Expect nothing more! When we arrived, the electronic keys weren't working so the receptionist had to open the doors for us each time we went in. Our room was on the ground floor which was good because it had a bay window with lots of light & fresh air, but our friends room was on the top floor with a small side window & it got very warm and kinda stuffy in there. The bathrooms were tiny and our friends water went cold in the middle of a shower! It didn't get resolved, only apologies were given. We didn't have breakfast, we were too tired! Overall, this hotel is about 7 minutes drive from Broad street which is pretty good for a night out. The prices of the rooms are adequate for the quality, and the sizes of the rooms were bigger than expected. However if you want a decent nights sleep you probably won't get it on the weekend, lots of people stroll in around 4 or 5am after the clubs close.

Could have got it £5 cheaper by knocking the door myself

The room was very basic and compact (!) it didn't have any hanging facility but was ok.Tea and coffee gear was attached to a small cupboard so not at all user friendly but all in all the room was ok, the heating worked and had clean towels and linen which the main thing.Had a good nights sleep and the breakfast was as it should be.For the charge of the room, we had a deal.

Both towel rails in bathroom were broken. Shower was filthy with mould at the bottom. Basin was loose on the wall. Eggs at breakfast were able to be made into a spare tyre but fresh eggs were cooked on request. Shouldn't have to ask though, should I?I know it was a cheap bed and breakfast but surely the owners should have some standards for their customers?

I stayed at this hotel when we had all the snow. We were freezing in our room, we asked for a heater but they did not have any. We asked for an extra quilt, they found one but had no cover for it. We used it anyway as we were so cold. If anyone else had asked for one they would not have got one as we had the oonly spare one there. We recently stayed in another hotel in birmingham and found the difference between the two very different. Having payed half of the price that we did at the grove the other hotel was much better and would tell our friends about it but not about the grove. Our view is that if you go to the grove take your own quilt it will be warmer.

A real mistake. How it gets away as a real hotel is unbelievable.

It looks like a doctors surgery, room was dirty, bathroom was hideous. Woke up in the morning with the ceiling pouring out dirty water onto our beds. The lady on reception was nice

Where to start? The stains on the bed linen that had obviously not been changed. The fact we had to change rooms after the first night as the room was so cold. The place had not been cleaned, the shower was particularly disgusting. The rudeness and attitude from one of the receptionists (though one was pleasant). The chipped cups, the lack of heating in any bathrooms. The TV did not work, There was a hole in the wall of one room. There was a pane of glass missing from the window in the bathroom. The whole experience was not one I would repeat.

This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, we arrived late on the first night and had to change our own bed sheets because they were dirty, on the second night the light in the bathroom died and we were told it could not be changed untill the next day; so we had to use the bathroom in the dark and to put the cherry on the cake on the last day we were woken up at 6.30am due to water leaking in and soaking our beds. We had no apology from the staff other than the housekeeping staff, the manger was very rude and dismissive, we recieved no apology from her or a discount from our bill, when I spoke to the manger I was told to write in or stop wasting my time talking about it. The Grove is a very poor attempt of a Hotel.

Room rather on the small size, too much furniture in a small space. Remember to take own soap/shower gel as only one small packet of shower wash allocated. Plenty to eat at breakfast and of good quality.

I realise we get what we pay for in this world but although this was a Budget Hotel, the Grove was very unpleasant. Dark and dingy, the double room was tiny and in bad repair. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and this was not an experience I would care to repeat any time soon. I will continue to use late rooms as, in the main, they have proven to be of a good standard but I'm afraid establishments such as the Grove will not enhance your reputation as a booking service.

the room we had was in what used to be the attic the roof came down over the bed so we had to be very careful not to bang our heads. no wardrobe in which to hang our clothes in, no tea or coffee making facilities, the landing to our room had no lighting so we had to get into our room in the dark and there was a step there. the bathroom was very small and the taps did not stay on it was the push top like you get in toilets, also no hot water. we bought 2 cans of coke which cost me £2. we would never stay here again.
