Short Stays OKOur check in was very efficient, breakfast was excellent and the owner incredibly friendly and accommodating. Excellent location for lovely walks with amazing views across the coast. We didn't spend much time in our room so it wasn't an issue but our room was a little smaller than expected, the bathroom was particularly small for a family room. Whilst the bedding and towels were clean, the room felt in need of a good spring clean - cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and some decorative works required.

Weekend in ScarboroughI was lucky parking the car not a lot of spaces left, but I was given a ticket to display in my window as it is in a zoned area.A good welcome and room adequate for purpose I would probably say 3 star not 4 , a shower cubicle would be better instead of a curtain next to the toilet.Brilliant sea view and a 4 star breakfast overall a pleasant stay and the karaoke in the Lord Nelson on the sea front was like semi finals in the X Factor some good talent on show.

You couldn't ask for a better view!I stayed last weekend with my husband and two children. Our room was on the top floor with a sea view.... and it was an absolutely stunning view of the north bay - you couldn't wish for a better view, and I'd say it would rival some of the best (admittedly we had a gloriously sunny weekend). It feels like a very traditional seaside guest house, and the decor is pretty old-fashioned (would not be suitable if you require wheelchair access to the upper floors as there is no lift), but somehow that just adds to its charm. The breakfast was great and the owners were really friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Make sure you get a sea view! We'll definitely be staying again...

Excellent place!! great valueStayed here on a bank hol weekend and the stay was brillant..we were greated by the owners whom were friendly and very helpful. The hotel location was great too, very close to the town. I would recommended this hotel to everyone as it accomendates for all. The hotel is very clean, the sea views are beautiful and the cooked breakfast in the morning is lovely too. Parking is no problem as there is plenty along the front and they will give you a permit too so you dont have to pay.. thanks again for a lovely stay.

good location, great views, lovely food and very nice people. However our double room was incredibly small and when we looked at similar guest houses in the same location their prices were lower and sometimes offered extra facilities. So nice place but overpriced.

Greetings for the Greno Seafront Guest HouseA very warm and friendly welcome awaited us at the Greno. The hotel and room was more than comfortable with a beautiful sea view. The food was excellent with every taste catered for. The location was ideal, being close to the harbour. We would definitely return!

A friendly hotel in ScarboroughOn arrival the owner was extremely helpful and courteous pointing out local restaurants, sights and general information. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent using only locally sourced produce served in a well appointed dining area and cooked to perfection. The owner ensured that we had egg free sausages for our son who suffers with allergies. We have had much less help in larger, reputable chains.

Very nice and friendly owners but room not up to expectationThe owners are very friendly and pleasant and offered very good advice on local restaurants for families. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of cereals, fruit, toast and a good-sized English breakfast. We had the family room (No 15) which was situated at the top of the building and looking out over North Beach so a very pleasant view. However the decorating in the room was slightly shabby and there were small flies on the inside of the window which, despite the owner cleaning them up, reappeared that night and again the next day. The en-suite was very very small and it was not possible to stand at the sink to wash without banging your elbows on the wall or shower unit. Shower unit was also small and very low pressure (being at the top of the building). The tv in the room was high up in the corner of the room and looked to be about 12-14\" so it was not really watchable from the main bed and was more useful for the kids when lying on the top bunk. For the money we paid it was not of the standard we expected and we left a day early.

Greno Revisited I chose the Greno because I first stayed there with my parents 40 years ago. The present owners were a delightful couple who looked after us and told us where the best fish and chip shop in Scarborough is! The Family room was well appointed ,all the modern facilities available, with a magnificent panoramic view ot the brooding waves crashing on to North Bay. The hotel oozed character and and brought back memories of childhood adventures. It certainly wasn't a mistake to go back, and the friendly welcome ensured a memorable stay.

Great room, with modern furnishings and decor, very clean, good shower, flat screen tv with digital channels. Fantastic sea view from our window, and got a parking space right outside the hotel. Breakfast was just what we needed to recover after good few £1 pints in baracuda the night before. Tea, coffee, orange juice, herbal teas. Breakfast cereals, toast and a full english breakfast. Hosts were very friendly, and helpful. Town centre 10 mins walk. Will be staying again the next time we visit scarborough, hopefully next time in the summer so we dont get frost bite walking on the front again. haha.
