Decent size room for two with a comfortable king size bed. The hotel was quiet and conveniently located outside of the park.

Convenient location near Grand Canyon. Food was overpriced for average quality of meal. The room was clean and comfortable. Like many hotels the stale musty smell of old cigarette smoke was evident.

The room was very disappointing! The room looked like it was barely cleaned and was very dimly lit( all the better to hide the poor cleaning). The restaurant staff had some language issues, the waiter barely spoke English. Would not stay there again.

WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER SEEN. RESERVATION WAS SCREWED UP. FRONT DESK SAID GO PLAY FOR THE DAY AND THEY'D STRAIGHTEN OUT. DIDN'T HAPPEN. FINALLY GOT ANOTHER ROOM WITH A NICE VIEW OF THE PARKING LOT. WENT TO ON SITE DINING THEN TO BED. 9:30PM FRONT DESK CALLS TO SAY I CAN'T CHARGE DINNER TO MY ROOM SINCE I BOOKED THRU ONLINE TRAVEL SO I MUST COME DOWN NOW TO PAY! i GO TO THE DESK AND SHE SAYS SHE NEEDS MY CREDIT CARD. I TELL HER I DID THAT AT CHECK IN. SHE TAKES IT, STARES BLANKLEY AT HER MONITOR AND SAYS SHE RE-ENTERD IT-SHE DIDN'T! i GO BACK TO BED. 10PM A BANGING ON MY DOOR. THE WAITRESS FROM DINNER IS AT MY ROOM DEMANDING PAYMENT! I GO BACK TO THE DESK WHERE THE WAITRESS AND CLERK ARGUE WITH EACH OTHER. NO COMPETANCE, CONTROL OR TRAINNING HERE.

Located in Tusayan right outside grand canyon national park. Friendly staff and clean rooms.

The room and decor was gloomy. We have stayed in better places. The rooms were small.

Stayed March 8th 2009: We arrived on time and the front desk was not very friendly . The room was THERE thats all I could say. Yet trying not to stir up anything up, the bed was comfortable. We just stood at the Canyon as long as we could being it was very cold and windy. Be careful not to let the toilet water touch you either because it is reused. Thats ok for those who want to be "greener" than me. We coudn't stay for breakfast I just wanted to high tail it out of there between the leaks "on the front desk" and the internet being down at 7:00 am when all the kiddies were still asleep, didn't want me to stay much longer. If you have too, then stay if you must but I would rather pay more money to be at a cleaner place. Oh I forgot, they wanted 25.00 for a refrig in your room. I told them I wasn't paying that I needed to keep my insulin cold. The refrig was so bad the mold and left over food made me nautious but I covered my mads as best I could and left asap.

To start with, they lost my reservation, then we checked into the room and the bed had not been changed. The sheets were wrinkled and had stains on them. Had some manager come up and change them. Put on king size sheets on a queen size bed? Next day went to the indoor pool. The large rack for pool towels had only one towel.( We shared ). Needless to say, we won't be back.

We first booked a room at Maswick Lodge at Grand Canyon National Park. When I realized the lodge didn't have any real amenities to speak of, I canceled and booked a room at The Grand. My 10 year old son loved the pool and spa area, and the beds and room were very comfortable. They also have wireless access. The room was quiet and clean and tastefully done. The front desk staff were very professional and pleasant. I felt they took pride in being part of the staff. The hotel has an 'express checkout' system which works really well. The hotel is nestled in the tiny community of Tasuyan. There are a couple of fast food restaurants, and a handful of smaller independent restaurants, a general store, the Imax Theater and many several other hotels. It is a 3-5 minute drive to the park entrance, and then another 5 minute drive to the rim. If I go back to the Grand Canyon I will absolutely stay here again as my first choice. It was a nearly perfect stay.

My husband and I traveled with another couple from CA to the Grand Canyon for a Romantic Valentine's Day weekend getaway. The outside & inside (in the lobby) of the hotel were very well maintained, but the true colors of the hotel shone through from the moment we entered. We went to check in, and the gentleman helping us at the front counter was very rude, and very unaccommodating. He didn't even wish us a happy Valentine's Day! He refused to help us get rooms next to each other, did not mention anything about the special dinner they had for that night, and didn't even give us a friendly welcome. We tried to brush that off and went up to our rooms and finally got someone to help us change rooms so we were closer to one another. Once that happened, I went into our bathroom and saw dust and cobwebs caked onto the light fixtures! If that was not unsettling enough, there were brown spots all on the ceiling in the shower that I can only assume was mold. When it was time to go to the Grand Canyon, the concierge desk was closed (in the late morning) and no one at the front desk were able to suggest special points of interest and/or great trails to view the Canyon from! Some good things about the hotel: close to the Grand Canyon, heated indoors pool/spa, fantastic saloon (with a great happy hour every night!), and overall good food. Being with friends was the best part of the trip and seeing the gorgeous Grand Canyon dusted in snow....definitely the best time to go is in the late winter! :) Barely any tourist which left you feeling like you had the Canyon all to yourself.

Great Hotel, Just a few miles from canyon, you need a year in advance to actually stay at the canyon, this is as close as you can get without booking a year in advance. Price was good too.Beautiful hotel with nightly entertainment in lounge. Had a pet and needed some special assistance, The General Manger Darlene went above & beyond call of duty to accomodate us.Would definitely stay again and recommend to fellow travelers!Steve

Close to everything, kids enjoyed the pool, though the game room could use some working machines. They only offer dinner entertainment on weekends, so we missed out.

The hotel itself is pretty, rooms average. The staff may as well stay home. Clueless on everything. Every reply is No. The pool area is awash in signage telling you what you can't do. You could spend your spa time reading the signs. It's baking hot in there but not allowed to bring in beverages which are sold right next door. The restaurant staff are curt, the bar closes at 10pm. Starbucks is on site and good to have. No info in hotel rooms as to the local eateries etc. Designed to make you stay in the hotel. With the right staff, the atmopshere could improve and the hotel would be very attractive as it's location is perfect.

We turned on all the lamps and it was still dim, we kept the a/c on just so there was some air circulating and we heard toilets flushing and doors slamming all night long. Also, the pool was green and the breakfast buffet was cold and unattended. Visitors beware, EVERYONE is out to make a buck from the tourists - from the local pizza joint to the gas station.

We were only there for one night and didn't get there till 10PM. So we did not get to take advantage of the amenities. It was very beautiful and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were going to the Grand Canyon, so it was a perfect location for that. The only problem we had was finding it. We didn't have and address to plug into the GPS or mapquest. It just says hwy 64. So we couldn't judge how close we were till we actually got there. But it was very nice hotel, that I would like to go back to if I had more time.

friendly staff, lots of atmosphere, and very close to the grand canyon. the wait staff in the hotel restaurant weren't great, but the in-house singer was fantastic, which made for a nice dinner. i'd stay here again, but would eat somewhere else for breakfast. also, the hot tub was a treat.

Great Native American dances are free - get there early for best seats. Desserts are to DIE for! Lovely warm fire welcomed us on a cold day. Room was clean and spacious, although dim. Very nice!

Hotel was in a good location. Value for money was fair. Hotel is in need a minor upgrade, such as carpets, and a little paint. Common fireplace next to registration desk is very nice and cozy. Hotel is a short drive to the Grand Canyon. Nice dining room.

Only negative remark that I would have was that the cost was a little pricey and the upolstered chair in the room was desperately in need of cleaning. The staff was superior and very helpful. The evening meals in the dining room were tasty and there was entertainment while you ate. A fun experience!
