Room double booked so after arriving at 10.30 straight from the airport was moved to another guesthouse down the road. Scant apology offered. The guesthouse down the road was far from ideal. I would suggest checking before departure to confirm your booking. Not satisfied at all.

Cheap but cheerfulVery cheap rate for what you get! Enjoyed the luxury of the complimentary breakfast. Small rooms but clean. Stayed on the top floor so didn't have any problems with noise from the road.

Make sure you ask for the new rooms!great place to stay for easy access to the city only a 5 min walk but the hotel is close to a couple of hostels and assylum claimant type B&Bs. On arrival we were offered a room on the 2nd floor which was grim, the carpet didn't quite reach the wall and carpet grippers were exposed the divan bed was uncovered, old and yellow stained (but the matress was new) and the curtains had large stains on them, we asked to be moved and without quibble were given a really nice room in the new accommodation block built on to the back of the hotel, lovely new building, we had a clean and modern room with a balcony. make sure you ask for a room in the new block if you are staying at this hotel.

Great cheap accommodation although the walls were paper thin. The breakfast was a bit dissapointing but what can you expect for a double room in the centre of Dublin for £40.Alltogether value for money

Not Expecting MuchI researched the Glen Guesthouse and it does have mixed reviews but was mostly solid. My expectations were low because of a previous trip to Dublin at a different hotel that received similar reviews as the Glen. But I was greatly impressed and extremely satisfied. The only reason I am not giving the Glen all excellent marks is because our room was right next to the road and so the traffic noise was bothersome. But my roommate refused to move! So it was no fault of the hotel really. I never asked to change rooms. The food was pretty good but not excellent. The hotel staff is exceptional. Very, very accommodating. Felt extremely comfortable asking for anything. I was with a friend and our husbands are in Iraq right now and we needed a few days away and did not want to come back!! She is going to take her husband there for R & R!!

Glen Guesthouse offers no frills, excellent value for money in a central location, in an otherwise expensive city to visit. They were also very accommodating when we required an extra night following a flight cancellation.

Great place!!! We had a room in the new building and it was spotless, with everything you may need. The quality-price ratio is fantastic; we paid 40 euro for a double room with breakfast ( full irish breakfast). The location is very good, only 500 meters from O'Connell Street and from the stop of the Sighseing bus. The guy at the reception was super helpful. I would certailnly go back!

All the staff was very freindly.We did have to wait until 3 pm for our room to be ready but the concierge assisted us with booking our excursion in the mean time.The bedroom smelt of cigarette (not very pleasant when you are a non-smoker), was well heated and the bed was very comfortable, good poweful shower.All rooms could do with a bit of TLC (a lick of paint and getting the carpets replaced).

the room was situated along a very busy & noisy road with the road lamp outside the window.the flooring for the shower room was very tacky.Receptionists were very helpful. Very good breakfast.

Arrived on a saturday night and was warmy welcomed. Guest house in a central location only a couple of minutes walk to O'connell street and just over five to the Temple Bar area.Breakfast was very good quality and size. Would use again if going over again.

This was a great little place. we stayed in the new block at the back, which was totally quiet and comfortable. It's not huge, but you're paying budget prices. We found the staff helpful and friendly. No, they're not irish, but so what? They did a good job and had to put up with some guests we saw barking their key number at them without any 'please' or 'thank you'; yes, probably cultural difference on the guests' part? Very nice, really central.

Ideally situated just off main street. Pleasant helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble. We arrived soaking wet from the airport and when asked they immediatly turned the central heating on to enable us to dry our wet clothing on the radiators.

Found hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Room comfortable. If looking for a reasonably priced room in Dublin in fairly central location then this is good choice. Only slight drawback is soundproofing between rooms not the best. Luckily our neighbours weren't too noisy.

The hotel was in a good location. Our room was in an extension to the original building and was relatively new. Great little room with patio doors and a smashing bathroom. Very clean, and the towels changed daily. I can't speak for any of the rooms in the old building.
