Our family room was ideal for a stop-over en route to Scotland. Hotel is situated about 2.5 miles off of the A1. Good rooms and food. Nice restaurant and bar. Within easy driving distance of the Metro Centre (approx 7 minutes).

Great hotel & nice price. Thought £8.95 for English breakfast was expensive so we gave that a miss, but that was only fault of hotel.

Hotel was clean and staff friendly, food was fine but a bit overcooked, felt the kitchen was maybe stretched with functons and very busy restaurant as well as bar meals, but no real complaints and staff were very good

Enjoyed stay and the hotel is in a very pleasant location but the non-smoking room smelt of smoke. Excellent staff.

I found the hotel to be very good, staff were very friendly, the food in the restaurant was of a high standard and the room they gave me was at the other side of the hotel to the main road, which was very good as I was working on nights. The only issue I have was with the TV, the hotel is on the top of a hill and the reception was terrible, do they have arials in Gateshead.

very impressed with all aspects of the hotel, including staff most helpfull and friendly.only thing we could have wished for was a family/kids room,as we had our 2 boys with us,definately go again.

The hotel was nice particularly if you had a room facing north where the views were fantastic but as we had a room facing south over the hotel entrance it was quite noisy until the early hours. Unfortunately there were also some loud guests just down the hall from us so that made a good nights sleep a bit difficult.Staff, cleanliness and location (buses running from just outside the hotel to Newcastle every 1/2 hour) were all pretty good.

Could not fault the hotel or the very friendly and professional staff. Best accommodation we have stayed in. Only negative factor was the room was so hot even with the heating off - but we will certainly stay again.

room smelled of smoke a bit and the staff were ok, if a little unfriendly. Was a little further out from town than was indicated and the bathroom was a little small.
