The hotel is a bargain for its price since it is located at the Central district of Hong Kong and it is right next to the Hong Kong Garden. Initially, I have booked a standard room but the hotel upgraded my room to a deluxe room without extra charge because its standard room bookings are full. For a tourist class hotel, this is definitely a bargain especially when you are traveling to Hong Kong.

This was our second stay at theGarden View and we feel it is excellent value for money. the location is convenient and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel, good location, however, the restaurant is not really connected with the hotel so they wouldn't bill to the room. I had dinner at the restaurant with the poorest service I have ever received. The meal included vegetables, but I never got them and the servers didn't seem to understand. The manager finally came and took some money off the bill. I won't eat there again, however. The problem is that there are not other restaurants in the neighborhood so you are stuck with this restaurant if you stay in this hotel.

Ideally placed to visit local areas either by foot or taxi, although a bit of a hike back up the hill! Good size general store just around the corner to stock up the fridge. Had a fantastic view down toward the harbour. Didn't try the dining facilities on site so unable to comment on either price or standard. I would use it again.

It's pricing is comparable to other hotels in Hong kong but it doesn't have the same level of facilities as other hotels, but it has a great central location with great views.

It's a very nice hotel for the price you pay. clean, nice rooms etc. It's a little far from the nearest MTR station but it's quite easy to get a taxi there. I would definately recomend this hotelin HK.

The Garden View YMCA Hotel was extremely good value in an excellent location within 10 mins walk of Central. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable. Staff at reception were not particularly helpful but this did not affect my visit.

Reserved No Smoking Room but none available, however room and floor didnt smell of smoke so no problems. Staff very helpful and even though this was a budget hotel it was excellent Value for Hong Kong. Restauraunt was Chinese ( naturally) so dont expect western fare at breakfast. Standard Rooms only have twin beds which were a little small for big guys. Very good location with a walk through the Zoo gardens to Central Hk and all this offers. Taxi ride HK$20. As a YW dont expect Mini Bars, but fridge stocked with soft drinks.

Good basic hotel by a park which you can walk through to the shops etc which takes around 15 min. Pool was closed at Xmas but staff friendly. Nice to be away from the busy streets but there is some road noise. Ask for higher floors to escape this.

This was a good clean hotel, although we found a couple of the staff a little abrupt and surly. I thought that HK$100 a day to sit in their lobby and use their Wifi on my computer was extortionate. There is a little restaurant across the hallway next door that you can go and use for free though and they guy there is really friendly. It's probably not the most convenient hotel (the [other hotel] on Kowloon side is better located for transport and shops etc) However, the 12A bus goes right from the front door of the YWCA to Peddar Street in Central and back again and that's really handy, and taxis are inexpensive and seem to pass by often (as long as it's not the change over hours). We had all good intentions of using the pool which looked great, but the various opening and closing times were really inconvenient and so we never made it!

A wifi connection is available for guests but if you don't have a computer, after asking three different staff members, it turnd out that there is a computer for the guests use but only the third person told us about it. The location is in a good neigbuard but it is a steep climb up the hill of 15 minuts from the nearest MTR station.

Restautrant out of commission at the time ; what a pity!! Breakfast not available --- so take the Peak Tram to the top, have breckky overlooking the high-rise of HK !!; puts the place into perspective !! ENJOY.

Had an unfortunate incident on our 4th day of stay at The Garden View. While my nephew was taking a bath at around 9am, the water coming out of the shower suddenly became very hot and then it eventually stopped. When we inquired at the hotel desk, we were informed that the water pipes burst. We had no choice but to go out without taking our shower and brushing our teeth (eeyew!!!). The water eventually came back at around seven in the evening.
