Description:
This modern and luxurious 5-star hotel is located 2 Km from the centre of Galway. From the moment you step inside the g you know that you are in a uniquely special place. The dark and intimate reception area sets the tone, with black glass walls acting as a frame for a tank of Connemara-bred seahorses and bespoke concierge wall, designed by Philip Treacy. Covered in white Venetian plaster and reminiscent of a seashell, this is a hint of the surprises to come. The public areas of the g on the ground floor extends to over 18,000 sq ft with three individually styled and themed lounges and a restaurant, all linked by a raspberry carpeted corridor. The impression is of walking through a particularly glamorous dolls house, with golden doorways framing the entrance to each room. The ga euro s distinctive approach to design is carried through to the restaurant, with purple velvet and jewel-coloured Andrew Martin chairs. The restaurant offers guests contemporary Irish menu with a European Influence. The g hotel offers a total of 101 stylish guestrooms. Guests will enjoy luxurious bathrooms, many with showers built for two, and cutting-edge in-room entertainment. Above all, it is the thoughtful unpretentious service a euro ' including a team of dedicated Butlers a euro ' that will make each guesta euro s stay at the hotel a truly red carpet experience.

Excellent Luxury in GalwayI booked a King Suite for €280 B&B. Very large room, huge bath and his & hers shower. Lovely touch....Floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water, and one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. There were a coupld of 'g' cupcakes awaiting us on arrival which we enjoyed with some excellent room service coffee. The staff were very friendly and efficient, responding to all requests politely and quickly. The biggest bonus was the restaurant. I was expecting something average at best. What arrived (I had lamb, my other half had Monkfish lasagne), rivalled most tope quality London restaurants. I can't recommend this hotel enough for a fun stay in Galway. Some parts are hit and miss (the pink lunge room for instance), but those are down to personal taste. With 4 rooms to chose from including the restaurant, there will be something to please everyone. My other hotel in Galway, the Glen Lo Abbey at €200 per night did not come close. Spend the extra and treat yourself.

Clean caring Hotel: On entering the hotel you are greeted by the friendliest reception staff I have ever encountered. Although we had a slight problem with check in as there were two single beds in the room, the staff were so friendly it did not cause much irritation. The rooms are spotless and the bathrooms are amazing. One problem I have with the room is the that there was no window to open. Air- conditioned alright but very problematic for people with asthma and sinus problems.

On arrival i found the staff were rude on reception, an unwanted and boreing tour of the hotel brought us to our basic room which was booked as SUPERIOR DOUBLE ROOM. I had a view of other guests rooms which prompted me to pull the curtans for privacy. I was looking forward to the late bar after a great night in the city but was greated by what seemed to be students who constantly asked for my room number even though i was paying cash for my drinks. The room was very comfortable but the shower leaked.

arrived late and left early so unable to comment on the facilities fairly.

Although the room was excellent, as was the general service, the hotel was 'cold' in terms of atmosphere........just not my taste. Also, the evening meal was extremely expensive for the fare on offer...I would certainly not eat there again, even should I choose to stay........quality of food was certainly OK, but the price was ridiculous (as was the price of drinks...10Euros for a small glass of Red House Wine.......no thanks!!!)

Everything about the hotel was great - especially the room. The decor is fabulous . However the dinner we spent a fair amount of money on was well below the standard I would expect - and we did complain about the turbot which was overcooked and we didnt eat - but there was no material response which is a bit much @ 27.5Euro eachSo I would recommend the hotel but NOT the restaurant.

Staff were fantastic.room great. General decor outside of rooms modern but very dark and not to my taste.disappointed no swimming pool to speak of just a "thermal suite" and an extra e30 per person to use this-bad value

Hotel is too dark. No atmosphere. Coffee and drinks too expensive. Went elsewhere for drinks.

I absolutly loved it but was dissapointed with the dinner which is expensive and not great. I loved the spa suite and used it twice even though it cost€30 a go not including any therepies. I was the only one in it and thought it a pity that it wasnt included in the tariff. But all in all a must do experiance. The design by Philip Tracey is brilliant and I will recommend it to all my friends.

It was our first visit to the G Hotel and we really enjoyed it as a couple, I don't think I would use if for a family visit. The staff were excellent and very attentive and I look forward to another visit soon.

The hotel was a fantastic experience from the moment we arrived. The staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive and the card and chocolates left in our room for our anniversary was a lovely personal touch!! I think a night or two at the G is a must for all Galway visitors!!

It is difficult to fault this hotel on any point athough you have to call for (pricey) coffee as in most 5 star establishments. The walk into Galway City is 15-20 mins at a good pace so a problem if it is raining hard..( it usually is either about to rain or has just stopped in Galway!). You can park out the back of the hotel in the shopping area (Atlantic Homecare, Currys etc) if you dont want the Conceirge to make off with your car into the vaults of the hotel. Overall probably the best all round rating of any hotel we have stayed in. If you like slightly eccentric modern luxury..this is for you. We didnt try the dining in the evenings as there are some reaally good places to eat (try Mcdonaghs fish resteraunt but get there at 5pm or queue for hours) but the breakfast was 100 %+

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel in the last year. It is easy to get to and parking is convenient (in car park under hotel with lift access to hotel) or there is valet parking. Rooms are comfortable and furnishings and decor give a light, airy feel. Heating/airconditioning is adjustable and quiet. Windows are large but rooms are private and quiet because of inaccessible (I think)pebbled 'balcony' outside, edged with plants (bamboo?) which screen rooms from other buildings and road (this applied to both rooms I was in, I don't know if it applies to all rooms).Room would have scored 6 last time, this visit it was almost 6 - just a couple of tiny details needed attention (information and menus missing , for example). I like the fact that breakfast and internet access are included in the price and a bottle of water and cakes were left in the room, instead of lots of extras added to the bill. But a kettle in the room would be a bonus - room service was good but I don't want to have to phone and wait every time I want a cup of tea.I love the decor of the corridors and the variety of it in the public rooms, so you can choose a lounge or bar that suits you. Light meals served all day in the lounge were excellent. Staff are very helpful.

Had a great room overlooking lough but other rooms face Toys are Us in middle of retail park. Signposting not great as G sign not that visible side on. Great decor, lovely staff and really friendly young atmosphere. Nothing was a bother! Would really recommend as a chill out location...or for a romantic few days away. Spa great.

The whole ambience of the hotel was superb. The staff were exceptional, they gave a real genuine warm welcome and an overall feeling that nothing was too much trouble. It was an absolute pleasure to experience true 5* service which isn't always the case in many high class hotels these days!Well done the G!

Wow, what can I say about this hotel. It's amazing. Not for children though, but great for a romantic, relaxing break. The staff are fantastic and nothing is a problem. The spa is a great place to relax and unwind. If you log onto the hotel website you can print of the directions as the hotel is hard to find. It's about 1.5 miles from the city centre, the walk in is nice on a lovely day but would advise a bus or taxi back to the hotel.
