The hotel was great. Nice easy walk into the main part of Banff.

This hotel was great - we stayed in the beginning of the tourist season so it was reasonably priced and well worth it. It is a new hotel and very modern. The hot-tub and rooms were amazing. There is a Chili's downstairs that we weren't too impressed with, but that says more about Chili's than the hotel. The hotel would be pricey in the high season but a great deal in one of the slower months. We would definitely stay there again!

My son, 7, loved the cave basin hot tub/pool atmosphere. We had hiked the Johnston Canyon earlier in the day and needed a nice place to unwind. This was it. The beds were great and the bathroom was fine. We had my mom, husband, son and myself in a double room, which made it a little crowded, but was reasonably priced. The b'fast was wonderful. Nice workers.

The Fox is a very decent hotel, we stayed in room 319, a two bedroom suite. The living area was a little small but given that little time was spent there is was more than fine. The beds were wonderful, not too hard not too soft, loved the LCD TV's in all 3 lviing areas, they need to offer more channels though. The front staff was excellent the cleaning staff were always friendly and prompt. You have your own heating controls which is nice and the windows open if you want fresh air. It is not a 5 star but a decent 4 star hotel. Parking was clean and safe, ski lockers are provided in the basement and it was well lit. The indoor hot tub was very nice, Chili's for breakfast which was included was a very decent start to your day and again the staff there are wonderful.

The receptionist was friendly and efficient. As soon as we arrived in our room, she called to make sure we were satisfied and said to contact her if we had any questions or problems. The hotel is built in a square and we had a courtyard room on the top floor. We had a standard room which was compact and was clean, well furnished with a comfortable queen bed, comfortable pillows and feather quilt. The room also had a sofa and flat screen TV. The decor was interesting with wall paper depicting local wild animals. The only downside was the room was dark as it did not have much natural light and lamps were not bright enough. There was a safe in the closet but it was not easily accessible as it was on the floor. This mean getting down on one's knees to program it and to retrieve contents from inside. The continental breakfast, which was included in the price, was atypical and had a wide selection of cereals, fresh fruit salads, yoghurts, pastries, bagels, toast etc. The hotel has its own spa, sauna and small exercise room. The centerpiece of the courtyrard is the opening revealing the unusual hot spring below which can be used by patrons. The water is 104 degrees F and is wonderful. The hotel was decorated with beautiful floral planters and hanging baskets. There is free underground, secure parking. The Fox Hotel is on the main street in Banff and a short walk from shops and restaurants if you wish to eat at somewhere other that Chili's which is the on-site restaurant.

Our stay at the Fox exceeded our expectations. We were able to upgrade to a Premium loft suite at check in and found it extremely clean and comfortable. The loft included a fireplace, small fridge, plasma TV and microwave. The upstairs sleeping loft was cozy and snuggle-friendly. The balcony had a great view of several mountain peaks. The Fox was quiet, with friendly staff and an excellent spa. Underground parking was plentiful and very convenient. We even found Chili's to be quite tasty for breakfast (limited buffet) and a late night dinner after long days of touring the magnificent Canadian Rockies. Would definitely stay at the Fox again.

6 people in our party. Two people in each of three 2 BR rooms. My room was a great setup. It was two connected rooms that appeared to be a 1 BR plus a single hotel room. There was a large living room/kitchenette, where 6 of us had plenty of room to gather for drinks before going out. Bedrooms were adequate in size with lots of closet room to store all that ski gear. Front desk staff was VERY friendly and always extremely willing to provide information. The front desk manager addressed me by name everytime that he saw me. Cold breakfast is the only option on the property, which is done well, but the absense of hot food was a bit disappointing. It's a bit of a hike to the main part of town, especially in the bitter cold that we encountered. However, taxis were plentiful and always arrived quickly. The hot tub "grotto" was brilliant and never overly crowded. Overall, for a "3 star" hotel, this place was way above and beyond what any of us expected, and this was a group of people that travels a lot, usually staying at fairly high end properties. I would definitely recommend this to anybody traveling to Banff.

"My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and had the best time. When we made the reservations we just had a regular room, but when we got there and told them we were on our honeymoon they put us in a loft room for no extra charge. The room was awesome and the bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept on. The staff was very helpful and courtious. We didn't find anything to complain about. We would definately stay here again and we plan to."

"We have been to Banff many times and have stayed at a number of resorts and by far this is the BEST hotel, especially for families with young children. The hotel is suited and you can get a 2 bedroom suite at a very reasonable cost per night. We shared with my sister and her family. The room came with a small kitchenette (bar fridge, microwave, small sink and dishes). Plasma TV's in every room! The hotel staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. A continental breakfast is included in the room night!"

The Fox is a brand new hotel. I'm willing to overlook normal new-building problems (dark elevator rooms, exposed wires, people running around doing construction), but some of the very major problems of the hotel cannot be fixed. 1) The doors that connect two rooms are completely permeable to sound. You can hear every single word the people in the next room over are saying. 2) They have one elevator for the whole hotel, and it's slow. 3) The staff is unfriendly, incompetent (multiple examples), and tried to upsell us a new room that would cost like $* more, three times, telling us their normal rooms are "too small' 4) Their parking garage is the worst designed garage I've ever seen in my life -- their is a narrow, plunging alley with a hairpin turn that leads into the garage. It's one lane wide, and if someone is coming up it, you can't see them. And if you do, then you're stuck, since there's people backing up behind you, and people backing up behind them, but the entrance is only wide enough for one car. Once inside, the support pillars are so placed that you have to 3-point turn to get anywhere, including the entrance/exit, and are set so close together around the parking spots that the spots that are supposed to hold two cars really only hold one, meaning that so many people are without parking that cars are illegally parked willy nilly around the structure. 5) They have a very nice spa, though.

Interesting new hotel with a great huge hot tub but I will not stay there again. The front door of every room is a glass window with a venetian blind which, when closed, still emits a great deal of light. The Venetian blind glows all night as they light up the complex. Then the whole room lights up as soon as the sun raises. I don't like that much light in the room so I did not like it. In addition, the double room was very small and we felt crowded. I complained to the staff about these things but their only solution was to try and get me to move to one of their other properties (they owe several hotels in the area) at a much higher rate. I said I would just check-out and find a more suitable accommodation but they said they would charge my credit card for three nights as that is their cancellation policy. It was a little surpising they could not be more accommodating. I travel frequently and rarely have a problem with hotel management where they just have no solution to the problem and will not let you check out. We finally checked out after the fifth day and went to another hotel a block down the street that was roomier and less money. Look around before you book here.

The employees were so friendly right from the start. The room was small, but adequate for us two. The bed was wonderful as was the shower and the Rocky Mountain bath products. A large plasma TV and walking distance to the Banff stores. I would highly recommend this hotel. We changed the next day to one farther from town and I would have been just as happy being here for the rest of our stay. Plus, the continental breakfast was well done. The hotel is bright and beautiful. Wait until you see the cave jazuzzi!! Well done.

"We have been to Banff many times, it is always beautifull. Staying at the Fox hotel suites made it even better. The moment we walked in we were greeted by friendly and effcient staff. During our stay they were always ready to help. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. The fact that it is walking distace from downtown is a definate plus. We will be going back."
