Although hotel was isolated, it had everything you need. Great restaurants, great beach, convenient transportation around the facility. Could do with some more local flavor - maybe some music at night by the pool.

Good location, friendly staff, near to shopping and restaurants. The hotel is clean and staff eager to please. Concierge service excellent. Nice pool area and beach with lounge chairs in and out of the sun under palm trees. Lots of nearby restaurants and casinos within walking distance. Would recommend this hotel.

Wife and I stayed at Fairmont Southampton and thoroughly enjoyed it. Facility very well kept, clean and on site restaurants very good. Concierge Desk was not extremely helpful but was always nice trying. Walking paths as advertised by restaurant were weak but that had more to do with Bermuda streets than hotel design. Four out of Five.

What a beautiful beach and great hotel service! We go to Bermuda every yr and we always stay at the Fairmont Southampton. Only thing we didn't like about this yr's trip was the vacationers! They were exceptionally rude and noisy!

This is probally my 12th visit to Bermuda, and my 10th stay at the Fairmont Southampton. We have always found the staff (especially on the Gold floor) to be so very friendly. We remembered them, and they remembered us from prior visits. Service was excellent - never any problems. For the money, this hotel is one of the very best in service and extras that make your stay one to remember. Bermuda is expensive, but prepare yourself for that before you book. It's not just one place on the island that is more expensive then the other, it's everywhere island wide. (Everything is imported...) We plan to go back soon, and will stay with the Fairmont Southampton again.

This was our third trip to Bermuda and first time staying at the Fairmont Southampton. It definitely lived up to its reputation as a great resort with lots of amenities in a spectacular location. The service was outstanding at all levels, especially the waitstaff at the restaurants. We also appreciated the variety of restaurant options available on the property; they were expensive of course, but the food was excellent. This is important because there are not really that many other establishments nearby. Our room was clean and comfortable, with an outstanding view. Our only complaint is that the walls are not very thick so you can hear guests in the adjacent rooms at times. The hotel pool is average about but the beach is readily accessible and wonderful. We actually liked the adjacent public beach (Horseshoe Bay) better than the smaller beach on the resort grounds; you can walk for literally a mile or two up the coast enjoying the pink sands, clear turquoise water, and interesting rock formations. The free hotel ferry to the Hamilton Fairmont Hotel is also convenient, and much prettier than the bus ride (although the buses are excellent, and made it easy to get around the island without risking life and limb on a scooter or a week's paycheck for a taxi ride). Dockyard is a bit commercialized and clearly targeted to the cruise ship traffic, but Hamilton and Saint George are both wonderful places to stroll, shop, and eat. The crystal caves are worth a visit. Overall a fantastic place for a getaway.

We visited the Fairmont Southampton on a mini-vacation and weekend getaway. While there, we enjoyed dining on and off hotel grounds, and we especially enjoyed high tea at Jasmine (the hotel lounge) and spending time at the gorgeous pool and beach (when it wasn't overcrowded). We enjoyed the conveniences of this hotel in terms of location, trolley service around grounds and ferry service to/from Hamilton. The BEST part of our stay was our time at the spa. I wish I could've spent all of my time at the spa and private pool. The spa was delightful and had a fabulous view from the indoor private pool. Even as a guest of the hotel I had to pay full price for spa services, fitness center and spa access. It was worth it in my opinion because the rest of the hotel was quite crowded. Unfortunately, the hotel was busy with two weddings in one weekend and running at almost full capacity. The staff was clearly overextended and could not provide the service that I expect out of a hotel of this caliber. The concierge desk told us they would follow-up with us on more than one occasion and never did. The concierge was hesitant to recommend any non-Fairmont property dining options unless we mentioned it first, which is an obvious conflict of interests. On another note, the hotel was not very quiet. We experienced "false alarms" with the fire alarm system on a daily basis and on more than one occasion, the "false alarm" occurred in the wee hours of the morning - not the best when you are looking for a little R&R. We will definitely go back to Bermuda, and we will definitely visit the Willow Stream spa but we plan to stay at a more quiet and peaceful hotel that is staffed appropriately in order to provide A+ service.

This hotel was truly superb, with every little detail done right. This must be the most beautiful and satisfactory hotel in Bermuda, and with the best location. They have great courts and beaches. This hotel is a must if you are going to Bermuda.

Good overall package, especially on the Fairmount Gold Floor (6th). All rooms there have excellent views and include ample breakfast and snacks and drinks. However, the building is a behemouth and it seems as though staff really have no control over it, as it is so large. Charges mysteriously appear on your bill with no explanation, although the Gold concierge can make them disappear. The real problem was the building's fire alarm. It went off many times during our 4 night stay. On the last night, at about 1:30 a.m., it went off again. An announcement kept going saying that they were "investigating" it. As we were on the top floor, we thought it prudent to get dressed and evacuate the building. We also heard sirens outside. Yet we sat outside the building for at least an hour and not one staff member updated us or gave us any information. Finally, when the alarms stopped, we went inside and a manager explained that a humidity sensor had triggered the false alarm. We went back up to our room, yet the alarms kept ringing until about 3 am. In the morning, we received a letter under our door explaining the false alarm. However, in a building this size, they should have had someone there to deal with the guests and to keep them informed.

My husband and I had taken a seven day cruise to Bermuda two years ago and went to Horseshoe Bay and saw this beautiful private beach and hotel. We asked someone what the name of the hotel was and we were informed it was the Fairmont Southampton at that time we vowed to return to Bermuda for our next vacation. The Fairmont Southhampton is an elegant hotel with a British charm. We purchase the Fairmont Gold package because of the amenities which are well worth the extra money (all the sodas and water you want to drink all day) and the continental breakfast in the morning. The rooms are exceptionally large and beautiful; the details of having personal bedroom slippers and bathrobes and the awsome smelling shower gels and lotions and lest not forget the wonderful view of the ocean from the balcony of your room was a plus for us. The check in was easy and the staff remembered your name and catered to your every need and in my book the staff are Rock Stars. This was one of the best vacations we have had in a long time and will be going back to the Fairmont Southampton. Washington DC

Overall, very good. Front desk staff not very friendly. Housekeeping staff and concierge staff very friendly and accommodating. Great scenic location but not too convenient for access to Hamilton and shopping. Outside pool is often full of children. Hard to find a vacant chaise in the afternoon. Very nice rooms with balconies and great views.

Just got back from Bermuda. Been there on a cruise a few years back, went for another, longer visit. After several hotel options chose Fairtmont South Hampton. And im glad i did and i will tell you why exactly. Hotel is big, clean. staff is very courteous. this hotel has beach on peremis, only 60 seconds away by shuttle, literally. This hotel has about 6 restaurants on peremises. This hotel has FREE ferry which is goign to its sister hotel Princes which is in the middle of town, takes about 30 min, but its very nice The Pool is a big size. both indoor and outdoor(if bad weather) pools available. Pool gets busy when beaches are glosed, BUT its 10ft deep at the deepes end so not alot of kids are in that particular are of pool, but there are kids. The above exmpales are NOT by any means limited to the specific hotel, its all over the island, same thing in town or hotel, This hotel is located in perfect spot. Beach is right there, whater sports are right there at the beach. Ferry to city right there - 30min ride. We come from New York, the prices for food and drinks in bermuda , is about 50% more than but then u also leave a tip 20% so the prices in bermuda is about 50% more. Food quality excelelnt. fresh seafood, meat poultry. Excellent!!!!!!!!!

As a bit of an older property, we had relatively low expectations of this hotel. However, the property really grew on us during our 4 day stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property, while not "on the beach" has beautiful views and grounds. Rooms are very comfortable and well maintained. There is a continually running shuttle that takes you to a neat little private beach area-- great place to sun and swim. The hotel has a very wonderful spa with private pool and outdoor sunning areas that is very quiet and private--- great for couples, and can be accessed if you purchase spa survices or buy a $30 day pass (well worth it). Diving, jet-skiing, and scooter rental are all available on site. The property is a bit of a distance from other activities such dining out in Hamilton or scootering around St. George--- so enjoying the amenities available on site works best.

4th trip back to the Fairmont Southampton. Wonderful place for families. Free ferry into town is a great hotel asset and the Gold Level Rooms are worth every penny for the great buffet every morning. Going back soon.

Since our flight from the US was CANCELLED, we think that the folks at the Southampton were a little overbooked and they upgraded us to the "Gold" floor....it was wonderful! Lots of freebies....like a "continental" breakfast every morning...fresh fruit, pastries, breakfast sandwiches...that kind of thing...hardly "continental" at all....the 6th floor has its own dining area...nicely done.....tea and scones at 4 daily...happy hour with canapes every evening....soda, water...a huge cooler filled with complementary cold drinks...even the stamps on my postcards were taken care of for me....the views were fabulous....our room overlooked the front entrance and I did hear the backup beeping of the shuttle, but at night, with the door closed it wasn't an issue for us at all. The location is far from the airport...$40-$50 taxi ride...tourists arent allowed to rent cars...shuttle to the free ferry...takes you to the town of Hamilton...did the bus one day and highly recommend it...one night we were in town at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess waiting for the return ferry to our hotel....it never came, so the staff there put all 20 of us in taxis for the return trip to the Southampton....a $25 fare...and they picked up the tab....a class operation! I'm going back and I will definitely stay there again....It was very relaxing....my husband commented on how everyone we met was pleasant...no surly money-grabbing waiters or hotel staff...the staff there went beyond excellent.....I definitely recommend this. We did play golf at the par 3 facility...and it was beautiful and nicely done...and doesn't take up your whole day, either. The beach facility was beautiful, but the 70 degree water was a little cold to swim...altho some people were! Go!!!!!

We had a great time here in Bermuda. We have stayed at the Southampton before but not in many years. It is still a great hotel. The concierge helped with all our questions. The pool and beach were great. The rooms were clean and comfy. Had no problems and will def return
