quite goodThe hotel was pretty good. Nice location overviewing Fistral Beach. The check in time was not that good, 15:00 and check out at 10am. they offer a money making option for extending check out to 14:00, which is quite tempting. My only bad experience was that there was a wedding party at the hotel playing loud music until after 1am. I had to get up and complain, with little effect. We enjoyed though.

Short BreakWarm welcome, spacious family room, good food, car parking and a fantastic view of Fistral Beach - provided everything we were looking for even though we booked at short notice

What a fantastic break!Got the room on a late deal and it was a bargain! Usually stay with relatives but there was no room at that inn so treated myself to this. Great location, overlooking Fistral Bay, room was extremely good quality and kept immaculate each day. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was included, which was a bonus, and the selection and quality of the food was superb. What a treat!

Over priced, poor food, but lovely scenery. The foyer is very modern , with a nice bar, but the rooms are different in comparison, old fashioned and a bit 70's.We had dinner on the first night and I ordered the Beef Bourginon, which had 'silver skin' pickled opnions in it along with the vinegar??, we ordered wine before the meal and had to pay cash for it before we ate- just all a bit strange really. The waiting staff were freindly, but the maager of the restaurant seemed very unhappy to be at work. The breakfasts werent great either , everything was done with the air of trying to cut costs, like the plates that we were given for breakfast were the size of side plates- so that you didnt take too much, the ketchup was watered down, just petty things like that that irritated after a while- and consideering the prices that we paid, I wouldnt expect. Having said that the loaction is amazing, Fistral bay is beautiful, and so relaxing- and you can walk to town in 15mins- so great location.

Fistral Bay HotelGood sized room provided for 2 with shower room ensuite. Unfortunately poor views at the back of the hotel.Fantastic aspect as front and restaurant looks out on Fistral Bay.Atmosphere in hotel varied as large parties of elderly tourists arriving all the time.Good position for surfers as hotel looks out on the bay. The surf school is excellent and is attached to the hotel. Area is pleasant with lots of families alongside the surfers and swimmers. Hotel is outside Newquay so it is a long walk if you want to use pubs and restaurants there. Beach Hut Cafe has super food and it is straight outside hotel towards beach. As a vegetarian I found the breakfasts were poor.

ESPLANADE HOTEL NEWQUAYArrived after 4 hour journey no where to park car park full of surfers not staying at hotel no parking permits issued.Certain reception staff not helpful.Asked for bar snack had to go to sister hotel down road.Had drink in the bar sat outside due to lovely sunny day work men laying steps to deck area drilling and cutting wood.room OK nice view over looking the beach widows dirty my other half cleaned one so we could enjoy the view. breakfast really bad it was cold and eggs like rubber.this hotel is in a lovely position but it has a run down feeling. WITHOUT PREDUDICE

On arrival we upgraded to a room with a sea view as the standard room didnt and we were very happy with this new room that had amazing views over fistral beach. We had the most amazing weather which made it a fanstastic break. The food was good but the restaurant stopped serving at 8pm on friday night which was a little frustrating after a 9 hour journey. Parking was also a bit of a lottery but managable. The staff were excellent and it only took 15 mins to walk into the center of Newquay. Enjoy your stay here, I would stay again providing I had a sea view

Worst hotel I have stayed inI booked this hotel as it had good reviews also as a present of a friend who was poorley.Firstly it said the hotel was not far from town, it was a good half a hours walk, my freind has a bad back so can not walk to far.Next we are given our room which was tiny, as the hotel was not full I can not understand why we was given a bad room with a view of the disused swimming pool. The bathroom was not clear, as a hair stayed there for the duration of our stay!the bed was falling apart, which for a £110 a night is very poor.I did not complain at the time because of my friend so not to spoilt her stay.Breakfast was average. We went to the pool area, and could not belive we had to pay for the saune, should have been included in the price. On the second morning they proceed to dig up the pool outside our bedroom window at 8 am, with no warning, why put people in that area if they were going to work on the pool?I have to say I have stayed in better travellodges for half the price.

Espalande Hotel NewquayOn arrival at hotel was delighted with entrance/reception, bar area and restaurant, however the quality of the entrance and it's facilities can only leave you disappointed when you get to your room. When booking on the website the rooms looked large and newly refurbed, so after we had decided to pay extra to upgrade to a sea view room we did feel somewhat disappointed on the size and quality of room. Cleanliness was not great, the previous occupier must have had long dark hair... they were on the bed spread, stuck to the door frame of the bathroom and when I got out of the shower I had long dark hair in between my toes... I have short blonde hair and my partners hair had just been shaved off!! So it wasn't us! Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was great, the spa in the sister hotel was fantastic!

Perfect location. Fantastic staff.I stayed for 2 nights with my partner, sister and mother over the Easter break and the hotel could not have been better. The location was exactly what we wanted - close enough to walk to newquay town if we wanted (which we didnt) but with more than enough to occupy us locally around the hotel. The view from the lounge area of the hotel was stunning, it was panoramic views of the cornish seaside. The rooms themselves were very basic and not quite up to the standard that you would expect from the lobby, but they were clean. The other only minor downfalls were that the walls were quite thin and the headboard of the (very hard) bed squeaked noisily with every movement. The breakfast was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. All in all, I would stay there again definitely!

Booked a double room and got a slightly larger room with a double bed and a single bed. But the double turned out to be two singles bolted together which made for a slightly uncomfortabel experience. And the room supposedly in the \"new\" wing overlooked a hideous grassed courtyard with a filthy fountain as the centrepiece. But breakfast overlooking Fistral beach was beautiful and the food was plentiful and good quality. Easter eggs on Easter sunday was a nice touch. The hotel is a little way out of town (15mins brisk walking involving some hills) but if that's what you're looking for then its a lovely location overlooking the beach.

a very nice place to stay with all the staff very helpful and polite although breakfast does start late at 8.00 am and with me starting work at that time i would have preferred a little earlier

Good value hotel, with amazing view over Fistral Beach - definitely pay extra for a sea view room if staying for leisure. Clean stylish decor, good facilities, but self-serve breakfast could've been better. Hard to know where else would improve on this at this price, though!

love this hotel, have stayed several times now! excellent room, very spacious for a reasonable rate. Breakfast was very average and cooked breakfast is mostly fried. Free use of the excellent Bay hotels leisure facilities just down the road. Ajoining surf shop is a fantastic service - handy not having to leave the complex for surf lessons and hire! No bar snacks was a little disapointing tho. I'll definately be back next year!

My stay was a pleasent one, my only issue was the noise first thing in the morning from children and inconsiderate people banging the stairs and corridor doors , the staff and hotel in general were fine. The view was one to die for from the coffee lounge absolutley fantastic.

Parking was a problem, even when pre-booked.At peak times could do with more than 2 on reception.

Hardley any onsite parking although we parked easily in the road outside, the room we had could do with a makeover. We had a view of the rear of the hotel couldn't see the sea at all check where your room faces when booking.
