I hadn't been to Asbury Park for about 25 years. I wanted to be by the boardwalk, even though I know it has changed a lot. The Empress has been a landmark by the beach for many years and the latest renovation is quite nice. The rooms have adequate size, with our having a balcony looking at the ocean. We were there on a Saturday night. About 12:30AM the sound of Tiki Drums took over the hotel. I'm not sure if they were in the hotel or at a neighboring bar, but they lasted until about 1:30AM. Other than that the property was nice and with plenty of parking on the street.

Located on ocean block with very easy parking.Great hotel lobby with retro look of days gone by.Everyone at the front desk couldn't be more helpful & friendly.Rooms are not huge but clean & nicely decorated with balconies over looking pool or ocean.Great views!! Nightclub Paradise 'off the hook best DJ's with the best music anywhere! Cute bartenders! After club closes unbelievable after parties in rooms upstairs.Cute guys! Most with real jobs & teeth.

The hotel is great if you want to hang out, party, and not have to get in your car and drive. The Staff is very friendly, and some of the bartenders are really hot.

The Empress Hotel is a great place to stay if you want to simply hang by the pool and have cocktails. There is VERY little around the area, unless you take about a 10 minute walk into the hotel. Try 'Meet in the Middle' restaurant. It's on the Main Street drag and is excellent. Also, there is Moonstruck, which is worth the trip. The Asbury boardwalk still has another year before it will be tourist friendly.

Staff here was really really warm and accomodating. They shared upcoming hotel and local events. I'm going to book another two day stay based on activities planned on Sunday July 27th. Great Sat pm party, great Sunday afternoon pool and tea parties! Beach literally right outside my door. Broadwalk mini golf and skeeball right outside my door too! Great dining options within blocks of hotel: Bistro Ole, Moonlight or Moonstruck?, both scrumptuous! OK Only observation, commended advise to hotel: showers should be cleaned much more thoroughly. Noted mildew and mold? in shower/bath corners which should be addressed, corrected, resolved ASAP.
